Zelyhon Streamjumper Zelyhon I should read up on the new 360 a little, even if I don't have the money for it at the moment. If it's cheap enough, or causes the older models to drop in price, they might move up in my "maybe I can swing this with some budget manipulations" list. Though that list might have been more flexible if I was getting paid this summer. From what I've heard, this system is more or less replacing all the variations of the system. The current top end xbox is probably going to get a small price drop and maybe the low end, but that will be short lived... like until the supply is gone. On the bright side... it comes with a 250 gig drive. And it looks like they're aiming at making larger drives down the road if that isn't enough. Hmm...Any word on what the cost is supposed to be? If it's cheap, I could start trying to budget and plan, even though I know I shouldn't. XD For the new 360 250gb? $300, the cost of the last model of the 360 Elite (which took a $50 price cut).

Zero Omega Zelyhon Zero Omega Delicious E3~ <33333333 Loved Nintendo's press conference, then Microsoft (loving that new 360), still gotta see Sony's though. I still haven't watched them, but I'm really liking what I've been hearing out of some of them. Nintendo in particular seems like they've got a lot going for them in the near future. In my personal opinion, Nintendo stole E3 this year. They did what they haven't done for the past couple of E3s and focused on one really big thing, games. Yes, they were games that we've seen before and knew some were coming. But come on, some of these games were hard not to be excited about, GoldenEye? Mother ******** GOLDENEYE? Donkey Kong making a reappearance? Not as some kind of bongo rhythm game, but as an honest to god throw-back to its 2D days. Keep the formula simple. And then the 3DS? When they first announced it I shrugged it off, but seeing the game line-up? The third-party development behind it? The rave reviews about how this thing actually FUNCTIONS? Man, I'm excited. That's what I've read so far about Nintendo and their games. It seems like all their big hitters were out in force this year (Mario aside, but his latest game is still a new release, so it's understandable) so they had the full lineup of what made them so popular. I'll admit that the little I've actually seen of the Nintendo stuff has me really excited to play Wii again.

Zero Omega Zelyhon Zero Omega Rae x Rae 3.14 I luff xbox. You should too. In serious mode, there's nothing on there that I want to play that I can't get for PS3 or Wii, both of which I either have, or have available to me. So in my case it's kind of pointless.360 is far superior to the PS3 though! Era: That's how the older model 360s were also, I was hoping whatever kind of internal build they had on the older 360 models that did that would be fixed with this new one, but I guess not. Fail. Not sure about "far superior." I'm not a huge fan of any of the 360 exclusives. Some look interesting to me, like Alan Wake. But as a whole, the exclusives and things that the 360 has on its own really don't measure up to the PS3. Part of that might be because I have so many PS2 series I liked that continue onto PS3 (and so many games are multi-platform now), but I'm just not as interested in your Gears or your Halo: Reach as I am in Metal Gear Solid or Katamari or Last Guardian. That being said, the 360 certainly wins in the "number of AGers who play it" category Stream brought up. I want so much to get in on those games with everyone, since it sounds like so much fun to have those games to play. As is, only FFG has a PS3 (that I know the friend code to, anyone else have them?) and I want the bigger group to play with. Thus, if I see a cheap 360, I still might get it just for some of the multiplayer. Then have to pay to get onto live, which isn't such a plus, but still... But on that note, I got my PS3 after finals and have been working on Metal Gear Solid 4. My library of PS3 games is still small (MGS 4, Burnout Paradise, and Soul Calibur 3), but all the good early games are cheap now, so I can expand it pretty easily. And get RDR, since I've heard nothing but good things from all of you, even if I couldn't play it with you. ZeloOmega is my PS3 name. I haven't jumped online in a while though, but I can to accept. Exclusives are definitely what can make or break the sale of a system, MGS4 sold me on the PS3 because I knew Kojima wasn't going to break for the 360 (although I'm looking at mainly blaming that on contracts, rather than Kojima because he seems to want to work with everyone), then games like Demon's Souls and Little Big Planet. However, if I were going to stick with multi-platform games only, definitely embracing the 360. Paying for Live feels like a kick, but man... For all the content and vastly superior online community, I'm willing to throw down the $40 for it. I'll add you in a few minutes, when the cutscene on Metal Gear Solid ends. XD If you have/will get BlazBlue, I can guarantee there are people who will play with you on PS3. But yeah, the exclusives for 360 just didn't draw me to it. If I go and get one eventually, it will be for the people on it and not for the games specifically. All the big games Stream listed are multi-platform, but for any where multiplayer is a big part, PS3 just can't compete with the 360's community.

Era: That's how the older model 360s were also, I was hoping whatever kind of internal build they had on the older 360 models that did that would be fixed with this new one, but I guess not. Fail. Honestly the Xbox 360 seems really lackluster to me. I'm not even sure I'd ever buy the PS3, but seeing as I have one to use now, and I have a wii? I wouldn't throw in money on a system that essentially does nothing for me, that I'm not interested in, and that comes from Microsoft (though I'll give them credit for the fact that they've been doing a bit better lately).
Besides, I enjoy what I've played of the PS3. To each their own, I keep Wii in pretty much a separate class altogether because Nintendo really hasn't tried to compete with Microsoft and Sony so much as they have just wanted to put out a quality, fun system. That being said, I've found 360 to be all around a more superior system. I don't mind having to pay for online play (and in the end, $40/yr is not bad) because their online play and community, their entire online set up is vastly, vastly better than Sony in my opinion. Sure it may not have a Blu-Ray player or an internet browser, but even the smallest functions, such as playing music, is a lot better than what PS3 does (you can actually use the system while music is playing, unlike the PS3 where if you are playing music, you can ONLY play music). Their Dashboard is a lot cleaner, interactive, and easier to navigate than the XMB. Furthermore... I like Microsoft's business practices better than Sony's. I always feel that Microsoft knows, and accepts, when they've taken a previous idea and is using it as their own, I feel they are a lot more honest than Sony has been. Maybe that just has to do with the fact that Kaz Hiari is a ******** psychopath though. I haven't had any problems with the PS3 dashboard or browser. Well, none that aren't a product of me having a really old TV that makes reading the text difficult, but that would be the same for either system. XD Which practices do you mean specifically? I completely agree that the PS3 has made some really stupid mistakes and choices, but I think all three of the current gen systems have had some amount of that. I'm curious to hear your perspective on what Microsoft has done better. Nah, I don't have any problems with the PS3 dashboard, I just find Microsoft's a lot more fluid and easy to use.
I'm speaking moreso as press conferences and just generally presenting your system, maybe not necessarily "business practices" but just talking about your product and boasting about it. Kaz has stated that motion sensor is just a gimmick and that it will be dead in the water, then they come out with the Six-Axis controller, two years later, motion sensor controller that is pretty much an exact replica of what the Wii is doing.
Stated that rumble is last gen technology and no one wants it, Six-Axis controller now has rumble. Stating that they should really be making people pay $1000 for the PS3 (at the first announcement of the price) because of the technology behind it and people needing to pay the price for such high-end technology. Sony speaks a really, really big and bold game, but always finds itself with their foot in their mouth. I can dig up more examples of this, but the first three are just things that really reverberated within the gaming community.

A lot of hose things they said were just...I don't know. XD Trying to say people don't want rumble is silly when it's said in response to people wanting it. I remember all of those things very well, and Sony having to quietly ignore that they said them. Sony really does/did need to give some more consideration for blanket statements like that. At least they're giving some comedy though, for when they make their next big pronouncement about why something is good or not, then take it back when they integrate exactly what they complained about. Though maybe after E3 this year, they rented that job out to "No-way-will-we-develop-for-the-PS3" Valve. At least they joked about how they had gone against previous statements. XD

I know I'll be getting Continuum Shift when it comes out, but I've got Calamity Trigger too and would be happy to play if you picked that up. Also, added you on PSN.

Zero Omega ERA718 Kinetic Dream ERA718 @Kin: You can't expect each game to draw. The only thing you can expect at each game are those dumb vuvuzelas. Was expecting a nil nil draw, to continue the glorious Swiss tradition. y u mad? I hate those vuvuzelas. http://bartbonte.com/vuvuzela/Although Kin I will say, lol @ Spain. I'm sure they'll beat out Chile and Honduras though. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pPVlAhK2j2oI'm helping! biggrin Edit: Kin clicked on Zero's link. Kin was assaulted by Vuvuzela! Streamjumper Ask anyone who was there for the AG Ragnarok Online days about the fun that was had on many an occasion (converting the Zipperbears from their heathen ways, standing in the trainers building and pretending to be NPCs just to confuse the ******** out of people, declaring a boss's lair to be our guildhall for a whole evening, teleporting buff-beggars to the most inhospitable locations possible) and you'll see the added value here. IT WAS THE BEST OF TIMES. crying
I really just need to get myself some multi-player games, haul some systems out of boxes, and get going.
Edit: It just figures Amazon would have a really good sale on Borderlands for PS3 today. D: Boo.

Yeah, it is also PC, but in a PS3 vs 360 dialogue it is effectively an exclusive. A delicious exclusive. Alan Wake would also probably entertain the s**t out of him too... and for arcade stuff I think he'd like Shadow Complex too.

Edit: It just figures Amazon would have a really good sale on Borderlands for PS3 today. D: Boo.Borderlands or Red Dead Redemption are strong candidates for AG group play, the latter being better if our numbers are more than 4 consistently. With enough warm bodies (or deceptively lifelike corpses) TF2 becomes a possibility as well. You may wish to consider Transformers: War for Cybertron, which comes out on Tuesday. I don't know how keen you'd be on the online multiplayer combat, but there's also 3 player drop-in/drop-out cooperative campaign mode and horde mode with the same 3-player mechanic. That basically means that I could be jamming through the campaign mode with Psy and get a message from Zero saying he wants to join. I accept and our support NPC disappears to be replaced with Zero. If half an hour later Gaia HQ is hit with a meteor and Zero is urgently needed to pull bodies from the wreckage, he just ducks out, is replaced by an NPC support character, and Psy and myself keep on playing with no interruption but many jokes about a second meteor with Zero's name on it. Oh, and the Gamestop preorder bonus is being able to play as Shockwave in the horde mode. Not OMG HUEG, but still pretty nifty.
