Kalinka smiled and stroked her hair a bit before walking away.

Kato grumbled, do this, do that! he held Kenji in one arm and a bag of apples in another, the girls had him out of the house most of the day and he didn't know why! "You think their up to something Kenji?" He held him close.

Kato laughed and nuzzled his little nose, holding him tightly cause he was so wiggly. "Party? Oh god..." He didn't want a party, he didn't even want to celebrate his birthday!

Sani was keeping a look-out with Rico for Kato. "So why do you think he'll try to ditch the party?"

Kato sighed and set the bag of apples down and sat down himself. "Heh, I guess when I was little I got beat up by my dad on my birthday cause it ment I survived that year and he hated that...my mother would poison me or starve me a week before, then she'd try and dump me in lakes or rivers...Rico found me most of the time but Rina saved me a lot..." He looked at Kenji then closed his eyes. He also didn't want to admit he wasn't exactly 21...he was technically 17 because his body didn't age anymore and neither did Rico's.

Sani raised a eyebrow then nodded. "Matsuda said when she was little that he would come home all beaten up...sometimes soaking wet and pale..."

Kato opened his eyes and smiled softly, forcing those tears away. "Thanks Kenji..."
A little ten year Kato was being carried by his father, he looked like he had a broken leg and arm and was barely awake. His father tied a rock to his foot and dropped him in the lake, running back home. Kato tried to swim but could and was sinking down. He was on the bottom for atleast a minute before Rina dived down and found him.

Sani smiled, he had some horrible birthdays too, his mother use to tie him to poles and dehydrate and starve him for days, then on his birthday she'd take him down and watch him eat like a starving pig while the village laughed at him. "Thats so sweet..."

Kato gasped and coughed out water, he opened one eye, the other wouldn't open at all. "R-rina...happy birthday to me...heh..." he smiled softly showing his jaw was broken and three teeth gone.

Kato laughed and lifted kenji back up with the bag of apples, continuing back home. "Your so adorable kenji..."

Sani raised a eyebrow and groaned, he didn't want to even think about how he was older than all of them if Kato and Rico had their original ages. "Eh? Shh! I want nothing on my birthday!" he noted, he wanted matsuda and kenji on his birthday.

Kato breathed heavily from the pain but got up eventually, his leg was broken and his ankle from the rock, his arm was limp and useless broken. "No rina...I'd rather I be the freak of the family than mat-chan..." he tried to walk but collapsed in pain, he tried again to get up.

Kato kissed kenji's little forehead, he was just so cute and smart! He kicked the front door gently cause his arms were full.

Sani rolled his eyes and hugged her. "Eh...better get me lots of sweets..." he let go.

Kato smiled at her the best he could, he always told Matsuda that he went swimming and dived off a cliff then hurt himself. She use to believe him until she came home from their grandparent's house and saw her dad beating him up.

Kato laughed and tickled Kenji's belly when matsuda took him away. "Hm food? Better be a vanilla cake or I'm out..." He did a cocky smirk, he loved vanilla. He walked over and set the bag of apples on the table before kissing the frosting on her cheek and noming it off. "Mmmm buttercream!"
