A little while ago I rediscovered an old PS2 game, I believe it was either a launch title or one of the first JRPGs to come out for it. There's a rythm-based mini game where your main character plays his guitar (which talks and is named Plattimo...). The game itself was kind of meh since it had this Majora's Mask-like time warp thing where everything reset after 7 days, but it had some truly awesome music. Right here is one of my favorite guitar songs from the gameIt's a really pretty song...

Well I nailed him Dead Center in the chest with a Spear but from the Angle we were at the judges didn't see; and he didn't have the honor to call it as a death; so When I paused because I KNEW I killed him, he turned and killed me. xd

ANYWAY...I just signed in to say that I'll start posting tomorrow morning. Sorry for the absence. a fight and a sturctured competition are different animals in the same genus.... A fight on the street has no rules to begin with...win by any means deemed effective is the rule of thumb when it comes into a situation like that. A competition however has rules and codes of conduct to ensure an acurate representation of one's ability in comparison to the ability of their opponents. It tries to take as many variables out of the equation as possible in order to see the raw strengths and weakness of the competitors. it's like comparing base scores in a table top rpg to the scores a character gets with situational modifiers.

You dishonorable bastards! scream Every fight should be fought with code of honor! If your enemy uses dishonorable means and kills you, then you die knowing you're the better person! dramallama And they must live with the shame that they had to cheapen themselves to claim victory! Because Shame is worse than death!!! scream
lol, jk, btw...

I know what a competition is and I know the difference between the two. stare
I'm not stupid, you know.
I was just expressing how much I disliked the idea of civilized fights. In the real world your opponent will not exorcise fairness. It's alright to play around in competitions I guess. I just don't like them.

The thing about competitions such as combat sports are that they are more of a game based of fighting than an actual fight. Some of the things you learn may help you in a real fight, but for the most part any real fight forces you to think outside of the box.
Low blow! Sand in the eye! Pulling out a gun in a swordfight! It's all good in the real world, as long as you win in the end...
The one exception is a duel, though. A duel is all about proving yourself better than the other person, even in a fight to the death. So that's one kind of fight that does have rules. But hey, if its not for you just don't duel anyone anytime sone! mrgreen
Unless said duel is in a children's card game... ninja
