The battle arks were origionally built to transfer a large populace of sentiant beings off a planet and move it into a new galaxy. The sun was about to go nova. The arks are so large that it was forced to remain in orbit while thousands of shuttles flew down to the surface and retrieved the beings. Once the planet was devoid of all sentient life the arks activated their hyperdrives and bolted. The beings were settled about fifty light years away from their home work. This happened on two occasions so more then three or four of these massive arks were constructed. Durring one of the more recent wars with the Federation the arks were forced to become giant, moveable, weapons. Sizing about the size of our own earth the Leviathan is the most recent battle ark to leave galactic systems. The draw back of having such a large weapon floating around in space is the gravitational pull that it emits. Should the ark drop hyper in orbit around the earth it would cause severe tidal havok as well as, and quite possibly will, cause the moon to fling out of it's origional orbit.

Battle Ark Combat Capabilities: The battle ark is armed with a countless number of high powered energy cannons that line the outer hull, the cost of keeping the Leviathan armed with missles and machine guns were far to great. Because of the Leviathan's size it is a large target for some of the more manuverable destroyer class fighters so it employs the use of, roughly, fifteen or sixteen thousand short range space fighters. On the "top" and "bottom" of the ark are two high energy fusion cannons used to destroy the battle screens as well as the space fortress as well, something that is not easily accomplished. The Leviathan is powered by, roughly, two hundred thousand seperate fusion power generators. Making it it's greatest weakness as well as strength. The generators ensure a steady supply of power no matter what. The generators are drained, for a few minutes, after a barrage, which normally consists of two shots, from the high energy fusion cannons.

Improtant information that you may not know:
The Leviathan was the only battle ark to become fully combat opperational durring the Hudathe and Human War. Captained by Iris Mc'ain and seconded by Lisa Hartmen the Leviathan was the key strong point in holding the outer rim. Because of it's extensive firepower the "Iron b***h", as her crew had begun calling her, was stationed above the Hudathe home world as the prison guard. Durring recent years, however, a large ammount of disturbance has begun to take place in the "No man's land". A pirate sindicate has started to do high priced raids on caravans and retreating back here. The Iron b***h was commanded to fly in and destroy all traces of pirate existance. After striking a major blow to the inner sindicate Captain Iris Mc'ain recieved a EMB (Emergency Medical Becon) from a tiny blue planet that rotated around a yellow star, our earth and sun.
