Ryu Genkotsu:
Ryu had woken up early this morning and decided he would take a swing by the Uchiha compound to see if there where any other academy students there that where heading out to the school and he would then ask if they minded if he walked with whoever it was Ryu grabbed his kunai pouch from off the table and said goodbye to his mom and dad as he headed out he turned right and walked down the street a ways before jumping up and off a wall he landed on the roof it was extremely difficult to do so without using chakra but he had managed his best without it for a while now. As he walked along the roof he neared the Uchiha compund and spotted a girl about 3 years older then him she was Uchiha from the crest she wore on her back(assuming its on your back) he jumped down next to her and said, "Hello Uchiha!" he smiled very warmly and reached out his hand offering to shake hands with her he was polite in many ways and hated when people where rude. He was extra polite to women because he was a chivalrous kind of guy. "Im on my way to the academy and i figured id swing by here to see if there was anyone to walk with." He explained waiting for her to shake his hand, "My name is Ryu Genkotsu whats yours?" he tended to talk a bit to much right when he met people but he didn't really care.

As Sango’s mind was still off in deep thought about the past of her clan, she did not notice that she was spotted as she traveled the street until she would hear the sounds of his feet landing upon the ground not to far from her. Sango would slightly tilt her head to be able to look him over out of the corner of her eye to ensure that he was not presenting a threat to her at this moment. Sango would notice the warm looking smile that filled the face of the boy and the outstretched hand to greet her. Sango did not want to be rude, but she would straighten her head up and reach out and shook his hand while saying, “Hi... I am actually heading towards the Academy myself. I would enjoy some company if you want to walk with me.” Sango would then smile slightly. After a quick second passed, Ryu would speak up and introduce himself to her, Sango would not help but to wonder just what clan that Ryu Genkotsu was a member of if any at all since the name does not sound like any clan that she knows currently in the Village Hidden among the Leaves. Sango would not ask Ryu just what clan he belonged to if any at all. Sango would make sure that she did not give a single hint to the question that was in back of her mind as she conversed with Ryu. Sango would simply speak up with a few short words, “Most people would just simply call Sango.” Sango’s mind would slightly drift off again, but not as much as the last time. Sango was wondering just what would inspire Ryu to check out the Uchiha compound before heading to the Academy if he was not an Uchiha himself.Post 6 of 48

Ryu:
"I would appreciate walking with you to the academy that seems like it would be alot of fun." Ryu said he knew that he probably confused Sango when he told her his name because he wasn't part of any of Konoha's clans but for the time being he figured that he would keep that little bit secret for a little while it didn't even really matter that much, "This is actually my first day at the academy i dont have much chakra so i didn't figure id do very good but since hearing what Rock Lee has accomplished i figured id give it a shot." Ryu explained not liking the silence much when it could be helped and he didn't like the fact that it would probably seem he was out of place in the Uchiha compound when he had actually gone out of his way to check it out. He couldn't let on the fact that he actually held Itachi Uchiha in a high regard because of his skills.

"Actually one of my friends is actually a very high ranking Uchiha you may know him he goes by the name of Loki." Ryu began talking once again, "He has alot of different talents but... the one talent that ive only heard rumors of him having is the fact that i heard he has..." Ryu paused to look around for anyone listening, "Mangekyou Sharingan... but i dont think he does it takes a special kind of person to kill there best friend..." Ryu laughed slightly at the idea of his friend having Mangekyou sharingan it was rather absurd but still possible. "Anyone i really think its just a rumor i know Loki he's not just someone who would turn around and kill his best friend for no reason." He said after a moment.

As Sango would quickly receive Ryu’s response to the offer to join her on the trip towards the Academy, Sango would smile and nod her head to both acknowledge and reassure him that his assumptions would hopefully be correct. As the pair would continue the walk down the street, the conversation between the pair would begin to fill the air to make sure that awkward silences would not make its way in. Sango listened as Ryu gave a little insight into the reasons and motivations that both inspired and drove him to attempt the Academy. Sango would simply reply to the statement about this being the first day of Academy for him, “This would just so happen to be my first day at the Academy as well.” Sango would pass and take a breath as she thought for a second before she would take the time to reply to the second part of the statement that he had made. Sango did not like the fact that Ryu already slightly doubted himself and his abilities before the first class had even started. Sango then added, “Chakra strength is important, but not as much as ones ability to be to keep the opponent off balanced and guessing what is coming next.” As the conversation continued between the pair, it would not take long before the conversation would then turn ever so slightly as Ryu would give a slight insight into the reason that he might have chosen to swing by the Uchiha compound before heading off to the Academy this day. Sango knew of Loki very well by this point, both in ability and skills that he learned. Sango would not interrupt Ryu as he seemed to get slightly off on the tangent while he talked about one of the abilities of the Doujutsu that was the reason that the Uchiha Clan was both famous and feared among all the clans of the Village Hidden among the Leaves. Sango did not want to say anything that would cast doubt upon the motivations that could have filled Ryu’s friend and might have caused him to do something that was so far out of his character in hopes of gaining power and skill. Sango would simply reply, “I am sure that if Loki had actually battled and successfully ended the life of his best friend that it was for a really good reason.” Sango would then pause as she took a breath before then speaking up again to say, “I wonder what the first jutsu or skill that is going to be taught by the instructors of the class. Maybe it will be a defensive in nature like substitution, or maybe it might be a chakra management technique of some type.” Sango was attempting to slightly guide the conversation away from the Uchiha Clan and any of its clansmen since she did not really like talking about it so much due to personal reasons.Post 11 of 48

"Actually i kind of hope that we will be learning something a little more simpler like Tree walking or Water walking you know like Jesus and stuff." Ryu said kind of jokingly taking the hint that she didn't really want to talk about the Uchiha clan very much. Ryu didn't really understand why she wouldn't wan to talk about her clan if he was in a clan he wouldn't be able to do anything but talk about his clan because he would be so happy. But then again if he had been born into a clan then it wouldn't have really seemed out of the ordinary to him. "Im pretty good at taijutsu though if i may be so bold." Ry said chaning the subject to skills he was pretty proud of, "I can already open up the Initial gate because i managed to talk Guy-Sama into teaching me the skills needed." He continued without really knowing where he was going in the conversation but he hoped to spark a bit more indepth conversation then skimming all sorts of other topics.

Sango would carefully listen to the words of Ryu as he responded to her statement about wondering just what the first jutsu or skill that would be taught while she managed to be successful in guiding the conversation away from the clan talk. Sango would slight drift off as she heard the response inspiring her to think to herself, I was under the impression that Water Walking and Tree Climbing are considered to be among the most advanced skills that were taught at the Academy due to the difficulty and control that is required to maintain the perfect balance of Chakra on the balls of ones feet. Sango would slightly chuckle for a second as she heard the joke that Ryu had made. Sango would listen as Ryu would move the conversation towards the areas that he was good at. Sango’s eyes would slightly widen as she would hear that Ryu was already able to open the first of the celestial gates. Sango would then pause as the thought about the information that was offered to her freely for a second before she would then look over towards him and ask probingly, “I through that if a ninja choose to become a Taijutsu Expert that was able to open and control the celestial gates… they were not allowed to have any Ninjutsu or Genjutsu techniques?” The pair would continue to travel along the street a while longer and off in the distance the sight of the large facility that hosed the Academy cresting the horizon. Sango would patiently await the answer to her question since she was kind of under the impression that Water Walking and Tree Climbing are considered to be Ninjutsu techniques.Post 14 of 48

"Thats exactly what i was told... but i don't believe it because Hatake Kakashi can use Ninjutsu and Genjutsu and he is still capable of using the gates... atleast the first one and i didn't know any ninjutsu or genjutsu to forget when i learned how to open the gates..." Ryu said he was proud of himself for making her laugh and chuckled inwardly when he noticed her eyes widen slightly when he said he could open the first gate he was proud of himself for being able to do that even though he as only an academy student. "Im determined to be able to open all 8 gates before i become a Chuunin that is my goal and Guy-sensei said that it was possible but... that was the case of Rock Lee: The genius of handwork but it doesn't matter i know i can do it and as such it will be done and that is my goal. My nindo is bassicly, If I set a goal I wont give up until I've reached it. Regardless of what it costs me even if its my life i will strive to reach my goals... that is my nindo my ninja way." Ryu had stopped walking and said, "And as my first permanent goal to be made i Promise to help protect you as you being my first friend." He grinned and made the nice guy pose like Lee and Gai did so often. He was serious about Sango being his first friend and he was also serious about the fact that he would protect her as his friend if for no other reason then that.

"This is one of my personal favorites..it shows how well you pay attention, and how good your memory is." Said Hideyoushi with a grin. He formed a hand seal crying out, "Transform.". A large gray cloud poofed around him and rised . As it vanished, Hideyoushi stood in the form of another instructor. "Try to be as close as the real person or thing as possible if you plan on being hidden." Sano nodded watching Hideyoushi release the transformation jutsu, and take his original form. "You should be able to get this one perfectly..right?" Sano nodded uncrossing his arms. "You can start now." Hideyoushi told Sano taking a seat and watching.

As Ryu answered the question, Sango would not help but have to think for a second as he mentioned that Hatake Kakashi is able use both the Ninjutsu and Genjutsu skills while at the same time able to use the gates as well. Sango would not help but think to herself for a second as she thought about how to respond to the statement. Sango would then draw in a breath and then say, “I might be mistaken but I am pretty sure that Hatake Kakashi has not actually mastered the celestial gate, but rather he uses the Sharingan Doujutsu to copy the movements and abilities an opponent that is a Taijutsu Master.” Sango and Ryu would continue to walk a little while long on the road while they talked and approaching the Academy. Sango listened to the goals of Ryu and was slightly impressed by the determination that was voiced after expressing a personal goal that was rather high. Sango would nod her head in acknowledgement and understand, but she was not able to say anything in response due to the fact that she did not really have personal goals other than to get out from under the large shadow that was cast upon her life by her older brother. Sango’s complete attention was instantly obtained as she saw the sudden stop of Ryu and then made her a promise. Sango then offer up a friendly looking smile for a second as she looked over the pose he struck with his thump up and large grinning smile across his face. Sango was not exactly sure how to respond to the promise that Ryu had made to her since she had never had any friends. Sango was a true loner in ever sense of the word. After a second Sango would then say, “I have never really had a friend before… until now. I will also promise to do anything to help and protect you in anyway that I am able.”Post 17 of 48

Sano close his eyes for a small moment and then opened them, forming a hand seal. "Alright..Transform..." Nothing happened. Sano looked at himself and blinked. "Huh..It didn't work." Sano said. "Think Sano..it won't just happen.." noted Hideyoushi. "You have to disguise your self..and well. When it comes down to it, you may need it. And failure may result in death, or failing a mission." Hideyoushi smirked closing his eyes. "Or maybe you just can't do it." Hideyoushi joked. "Tch." Sano muttered and furrowed his eye brows. "I'll do it." Sano formed the hand seal once more and a cloud poofed and rose up. Sano stood in the form of Hideyoushi with the exact same smirk. "Told you.." Said Sano with pride. Hideyoushi laughed finding it hysterical. Sanosuke transformed back to himself.

"Alright then we are friends and both of us are the first friend of the other that is truly a unique occation." Ryu said as he continued to walk, "Im going to train with Maito Guy after i graduate from the academy and then with Rock Lee after that i will master the Taijutsu skills that are in this village before i move onto the next one i will become the greatest Taijutsu master in the world of Shinobi." Ryu said as he walked he didn't really like silence but he couldn't think of anything else to talk about without either repeating himself or going back to the topic of Uchiha. He had no other choice but to contain his many questions about her clan because it was obviously a touchy subject eventually he said, "I heard that there was a Hyuuga that was going around the Uchiha complex... mostly around Itachi and Sasuke's former house... i don't know about you but its kinda suspicious to me."

"Good Sano..come on." Hideyoushi said turning and heading to the outside shuriken targets. Sano went on behind him patiently. Really, he was excited to know everything he learned, but he remained quiet. Hideyuoushi stopped, turned around and gripped a shuriken then hurled it at the center of the post. "Sano..hit the feet, hands, head and heart. Understand?" Sano nodded drawing 6 shuriken. Three in one hand and three in the other. "Alright..." Sano prepared staring at the post intently, waiting for Hideyoushi's mark. Hideyoushi stepped out of the way.

"..Alright..ready set..go." Sano hurled the first shuriken at the right hand of the post. He then threw another at the post's left leg. He drew his hand back releasing the next shriken at its head, then another shuriken quickly stamping against its heart. Sano threw the next shuriken, quickly noticing it off course. He threw the other shuriken causing them to skim against each other and nail the targets. Sano successfully nailed each target within a matter of seconds and chuckled. "Too easy.." Hideyoushi nodded. "Yeah..you got it." Sano glanced over his shoulder at Hideyoushi. "Congratulations." Hideyoushi handed Sanosuke a scroll. Sano opened it reading, "You have learned what was necessary, and have achieved the rank of Genin. You can now wear the head band, representing your spot as a Leaf Village shinobi." Sano looked up and grinned. Hideyoushi was already holding his headband out to him. Sano took it from him with a nod and tied it onto his forehead. Sano looked at Hideyoushi and nodded again. "You've been a great student Sano. Tomorrow, you should be assigned your team. Go rest now. Sano listened heading out.

As Sango’s ears were quickly filled with the acceptance of the friendship between the pair, a smile would fill her face for a second and make the most number of times that Sango had actually felt happy within an one day in her life. As Ryu spoke about his plans for after the Academy and training with both Maito Guy and Rock Lee in hopes of becoming the greatest Taijutsu Expert that the world has seen. Sango would not help but think about what she was going to plan to do after the time in the Academy and the hopefully successful completion the first attempt to earn the headband and title of Genin. Sango would mask her lack of a plan by replying with, “You like to set the bar high I see. However the determination with which you speak is clear in the tone that you are ready to face the challenges that would be place before you in the quest to be the greatest Taijutsu Master.” Sango’s head would then lower slight as she muttered low, almost as if under her breath, “I wish that I had some purpose or goal to strive for. My brother’s shadow has cast darkness upon my life that is almost imposable of escaping from. Even if it would only be for a second it would be long enough to see anything other than him from the world around me.” As the pair would then begin walking again towards the academy, Sango would not help but notice that a slightly awkward silence was quickly to fill the conversation that seemed to die so suddenly. After a few passing seconds of the silence the words of Ryu would then once again fill her ears. Sango did not like talking about the Uchiha clan, but she despised the complete silence even more. Sango would force herself to slightly bare questions about the clan to be able to avoid the silence that would have been a result other wise. Sango would then reply, “I had heard a story that hinted to the fact that a Hyuuga was hanging around and visiting the site of the childhood home of Sasuke and Itachi.” Sango would pass to take a breath before she would continue, “I was not sure that the story was based upon a lot of truth when I heard it. However, I wonder what exactly a Hyuuga would want by visiting that dreadful site. I am sure that nothing good will come of it.” Sango personally had a deep seated hated towards Itachi for the deaths that he caused of a vast majority of the Uchiha Clansmen that dark night that was passed. Sango hoped to avoid the anger and pain that would often rush into her heart upon the mere mention of his name. Sango paused only for a quick passing second before then continuing on to say, “How much do you know about Loki?”Post 22 of 48

"Well i don't really know much about Loki i think most of the storys he told me where false he seems to believe that he has died and ressurected several times..." Ryu thought a moment before continuing, "But on another subject when you lowered your head and where muttering i heard a little bit.... Im Curious who exactly is your brother anyway...." Ryu couldn't help but ask because even though he was 14 he still had a child like curiousity. "If you don't want to answer you don't have to im just kind of curios thats all." Ryu said after a little while. Ryu then began thinking about what exactly he would learn at the academy he wouldn't be able to learn any of the Jutsu there so he would just have to deal with all the extra training that was offered untill he was given the chance to graduate. He was ready to do that. Not really paying attention to where he was walking he actually managed to run into a telephone pole like thing and fall backwards. He sat up and said, "....welp.... serves me right for not watching." As he stood up he began to laugh slightly hoping that his little mishap would help to lighten the slightly dark mood that had seemed to settle in.
