Kibo immediately crouches down next to her.
Kibo: I'm so sorry! Are you alright?
He noticed a tiny aura of light-green dancing around her, symbolizing a jest, but it didn't register.

Sunny looked up at him through her tears and pouted cutely. "I think I shall live if you kiss me to distract me from my pain" she whimpered as her pout slowly blossomed into a smile.

Kibo pauses for a moment.
Kibo: That was... very witty of you.
He smirks, pressing his lips against her pout-smile.

"Why thank you..." she giggled, enjoying his kisses. She pulled back when she heard the door of the library slam open.
"Hinata!" Rex barked as he stormed in and pulled her up and away from Kibo by her arm. "You still associate with this trash after your father had words with you?! Do you WISH to be punished!?" He barked angrily.
"Rex, please stop. I know you mean well but I make my own choices" She explained calmy, laying a hand on his arm to calm him.
"Choices that disgrace your father! You're a Solei, for Christ's sake! Act like it and have some damn pride in it!" Rex cursed, shaking her slightly.
"Rex, stop it! I won't have you disrespect me in front of others! Now unhand me!" Sunny commanded with ice in her tone.
"You foolish woman! I'm the only man who'll have you as his bride! What will he do? Drag you along and dump you when something better comes along! I've heard of his past, of his magics! He's no good for you! If you marry me you can still save your reputation and earn your father's favor instead of becoming this man's WENCH!!!" Rex shouted, infuriated that she couldn't see his logic.
Sunny ripped her arm from his grip and stumbled back as if slapped. "Rex..." she sobbed as tears flowed freely from her eyes.
Her friend's anger slowly ebbed and his expression softened. He hadn't meant to hurt her, simply wished for things she couldn't give. He began to step toward her in an attempt to hold her and apologise. He'd forgotten Kibo.

As Rex stepped forward, he felt a cold p***k of steel as Kibo held Farind up to the man's throat.
Kibo: You will not lay a hand on her. You're the only one disgracing a name here. Not mine, not hers, but your own. She's made her decision, and it is with me. Either accept it and do not touch her, or don't, in which case I hope you're ambidextrous, for only one hand will be leaving with you tonight.

Rex turned to glare at Kibo and raised his hand, pushing the blade away and stepping toward him. "This does not concern you so I'd suggest you keep your meddling and idle threats to yourself. Hinata is lawfully MY fiancee by the ruling of our fathers and the understanding of the pirate lord" he hissed as he sauntered over to Sunny once more.
"Rex, please be reasonable. I know you're hurt and I understand you're angry but please don't fight. Kibo is a good man and I love him!" she pleaded.
"You'll get over him" Rex deadpanned, grabbing her wrist and pulling her behind him. "Now come along before this swine taints you any further" he commanded.
With her free hand Hinata Solei slapped Rex so hard he stumbled. "I won't have you speak in such a tone of my friends! Say what you want of me but you won't sully the name of good men on my behalf" she shouted with fury.
"Shut your mouth so you can hear sense!" Rex howled as he puffed up with rage. He'd been known for his ill temper and his impulsive ways but what he did next shocked even himself as he shoved the small woman into the nearest wall.

Kibo spun his blade in his hand, hitting Rex in the back of the neck with the dull edge, sending him face-first into the ground.
Kibo: You will not lay a finger on the woman I love. If you loved her, you'd realize she'll be happier choosing to be with me than forced to be with you.

A deep gutteral sound rumbled from Rex's throat as his body jerked oddly. His skin twitched and convulsed in frightening spasms and his bones seemed to grow and stretch his flesh.
Sunny let out a frightened gasp and moved as if to go to his side and check on him. She was cut short as she walked as her eyes wend wide with terror. "Rex?!" she shrieked.
Her response was his form shuddering and loud and grotesque cracks and pops from his bones. All she could see was his back as his shirt was ripped apart and long dark brown hair grew rapidly all over him. Thankfully his breeches stayed intact but all other clothing was destroyed by his changing appearance.
"What's happened?" Sunny cried out to Kibo hoarsely.
What was once Rex's face whipped around to gaze at her with a snarl and exposed teeth. He'd become part man part beast before their very eyes and his demeanor was hardly tame. He loped toward her on all fours and scooped her up as he stood, letting out a howl of challenge to Kibo before sprinting off.

As Rex runs from the room, Kibo manages to throw Claire into his calf, slowing him enough for Kibo to follow. Kibo runs, unsheathing his other blade as he ran after the beast.
Kibo: Hinata!

Sunny kicked up at Rex and scratched at the arm wrapped around her waist. "Rex! What's going on!? What have you become? Are you alright?!" she tried to get through to her friend's human side with no obvious luck. She would've been more unsettled had she not still felt the same vibe from this manbeast as her jilted admirer.
Rex ran with and thought with the attributes of a wolf. His thought was that the female in his grasp was his mate and that his persuer was out to hurt them both. The weapon lodged in his leg hardly caught his notice as he frantically searched for a place to hide Sunny or at least open enough to fight with little touble.
Sunny fell ungracefully from his grasp as they reached the empty town park, or at least what Tortuga considered a park. The regulars fled at the sight of Rex's beastly form with screams of terror. She managed to look back and saw Rex on all fours standing in front of her and poised to attack Kibo. His hair was on end and she could hear him growling.

Kibo stands, with swords at the ready. He runs forward, swinging Farind quickly.
Kibo: Farind, Trap!
Farind lengthens and wraps around Rex, wrapping the beast up in a twisted mass of metal, the point aimed at his throat.
Kibo: I'd best play dead if I were you.

Rex thrashed with rage, howling as the blade shallowly sliced his throat before he was able to rip it away. He clawed and bit at the chains trying to get free.
Sunny slowly crawled away, trying to avoid trouble and looking for something to help. Her eyes caught on something and she sprinted toward it while Rex was distracted.
Rex launched himself at Kibo along with the chains he was wrapped in and tackled him to the ground, set to rip out his throat with his teeth.

Kibo put Charon's Guard up around his entire body, and lets Rex bite at him, knowing he wouldn't get anywhere. After a while, he gets bored letting Rex rip the clothes he made, and swings a leg the beast had neglected, kicking Rex into the wall by the ribs.

Enraged, Rex flung himself back at Kibo, this time slashing with his claws and efficiently pinning Kibo while knocking away his weapon. The beast growled and bit deep into his shoulder before yelping and backing off.
Sunny stood over Rex with a fishing spear in her arms. The spear was heavy and she'd only been able to stab Rex in the side with little force but it had been enough to harm and distract him. She dropped the weapon and kneeled by Kibo. "Are you alright?!" she asked.
Kibo licked at his wound and curled his lip, once again set to kill.

Kibo gets up.
Kibo: I've got to get you out of here.
He stands in front of Sunny, wrapping his arms around her waist, andthrough the sinking into the shadows, racing away from Rex through the shadows themselves.
