((Doomsday, no offense, I wasn't trailing you. You'll notice my demands are for neither jedi, but your presence will probably demand my interaction.))
Shuttles had left with air cover as they went down through the atmosphere. There were about ten troop transports, each covered by four fighters, which landed in a perimeter around the mining colony. It would seem most logical they do this, while seemingly overkill, it would establish a base camp around the colony itself, but also allow for a source of information.
As the first platoon moved out, Veers was notified. He was under full command of the exploration, but he also retained command of the ships in part defending their position. While it was unlikely they would encounter fugitive jedi here, Ferno himself had ordered no ship leave under any circumstance, and make sure that no escape would be possible for smugglers, either. The caves of Ilium would provide lightsaber crystals for jedi, and the ability to smuggle them off would make them somewhat valuable.
Ferno had missed the fact that many Jedi could also synthesize the very crystals, a fallability on his part. Yet, it is possible to say that he was accounting for the stupid boldness of several younglings who did not have this power to pull such a stunt. However, his justification meant little in the overall scheme of things.
Veers had taken point of the location of this planet, a harsh world unto itself, as a perfect spot for hidden bases and rogues itself. But, unbeknownst to Veers, an officer nearly 130 years ago had pointed out that there are many unchartered settlements in the galaxy, and to root out each one full of smugglers and pirates would waste valuable time and resources of the empire, when there are full fledged rebellions about.
Ferno seemed unlike himself, however. His robes seemed to move unnaturally, as if there was a wind inside the ship, but Veers could sense nothing besides a very wintry chill that made his breath frost whenever he exhaled. At least on the planet, the chill would match the surrounding ice.
"He senses something. Something which he hasnt' felt for quite sometime. It is quite rude to stare, Admiral." HM noted, as he prepared to uplink to the computer systems of Ferno's fightercraft. Veers took note of the comment, as he ordered the point defense craft to be alert for shuttles. The ISD began to charge up its tractor beams, partially to help recieve incoming shuttles from the ground.
~~~~
On the surface, the first platoon had broken into a squad and begun to inquire about shelter and food, and compensation would be given from the empire if full cooperation had been given.
Another platoon had begun surveying the surrounding area from a set of rocks recently covered in snowdrift. Nothing had seemingly come up, but a report back to the ship was still required.
Salica Dio're stepped onto a suspension bridge that spanned a dark chasm in the seedy undercity of Coruscant. Even at this point in the undercity it was still several kilometers to the planets actuall surface. She stepped to the edge and looked down into the abyss. Her surroundings were for the most part enveloped in darkness as the level she was on was too far from any natural light. What lamps were still working cast long shadows against the walls, most of the light came from passing speeders and advertisement holosigns. She was dressed white skinsuit, and a cloak which at one point had been white but was now stained brown from years of use. She walked into a cantina that was quite popular with Coruscant's less fortunate inhabitants, and even with some fortunate one's who just needed an escape. She walked to the back and nodded at a bouncer who let her through a door into the back of the cantina where all the real action was. She entered a room where a droid sat at a desk and walked over, dropping an item wrapped in cloth onto the desk. "Here's the item he wanted, now pay up."
Freya then grabbed her comm. "Hey, Gorry! Totally warm those engines up, and, like, be sure to tell Chen to get his guys ready to leave. As for me, I managed to hire a couple new guys on the way to the palace."
It seemed as though she were talking at about a mile a minute. "I so totally want to take off the split second that I get in that cockpit. I mean, it's like totally Mega-Sith Central around here!" she continued, her annoyance at the currently encountered Sith that she'd encountered.
Still, Freya managed to get in a laugh, and turned her attention to Zell and Nat. "So, like, here's the deal, dudes: you watch my back on the ground, and I'll so totally do the same for you in the sky. So, does that sound, like, totally mega-fab to the max, or what?"
"Mr. Hawg is currently busy," said the droid moving its head round to get a full view of her. "prehaps if you leave the item here, i can call you when he gets time." said the droid reaching out for the bundle, arm jerky do to poor mantainence. "Oh no dear, you don't get this until i get what i want, i need info and i think you may have it." she said moving behind the desk.
Freya turned her attention to Nat. "You guys can totally teach me a thing or two about shooting." she began. "I'd like to think I'm an allright shot, but behind the stick and yokes of fighters and freighters is where I really shine!" she beamed.
"She is good," Rusty had to admit. "Forgive her, sirs," he said to Nat and Zell. "She may come off as boisterous, but there is truth to her words,"
"Like, just what I wanted to hear from you, Rusty," Freya laughed. "So, like yeah. How good are you dudes with the guns on the Ballet?" she asked the two, indicating the dual cannons the freighter possessed.
Hiko smirked confidently as the man walked away. "The whole might of the Empire could not stop me if they tried. Not that it would matter. There would be nothing to prove by it. Enjoy trying to take off with the Imperial Battle wagon in orbit. I imagine your last moments of your stupidty ridden life will be filled with much flaming death and pain. But thats what happens when you attempt to leave the Ranks of the Sith." Hiko turned to march to his Hut, pushing through the snow to reach the dwelling. There was little doubt now. He was coming. He entered his hutt briefly, emerging moments later with a Vibrosaw in hand. He began hiking back to the caves to await Ferno's arrival. It would prove to be a fateful reunion. He vanished into the snowdrifts like a wraith moments before the Stormtroopers made their final aproach on the colony.
One snowtrooper was on top of a hill, scannign the barren icelands for signs of his objective. The binoculars did not lie, as he thought he saw something.
"Sir? I believe you should see this." The senior officer looked at the trooper, before assessing the evaluation himself. Snatching a radio from another trooper, his gruff voice reported in, as the message began to work its way up to the star destroyer.
Thr platoon began moving towards teh temple, making all haste. Let the other squads secure teh colony, they had found the objective more by sheer luck than by skill. At this point, they were not complaining.
"Nat is very trigger happy, and can shoot anything down"Zell said as he waited"But I am a sniper" "And a damn good one at that"Nat cut in. Zell turned to him as if telling him to shut up"As I was saying, I'm a sniper, and I only shoot once, so I don't think I'm one to gun for a ship"
"Like, I see," Freya said. "Well, still, I think your talents will totally come in handy." she said to the two.
Freya then waved to Chenahab. "Like, they're back, safe and sound, Chen!" she said, as she led the group to the Aldera Ballet, waving the wookie escorts to him. "Like, as soon as you're on board, we're taking off!" she said, waving the others into the ship.
Zell gulps and whispers something before following Nat into the Ship. It isn't to late to turn back, but I haven't done anything in weeks, I need something to do other than travel places Zell thought as he saw the ships interior.
ElladanKenet While Elladan awaited his Nemesis Destroyer, or that failing word of a battle near Bandomeer, the warlord went ahead and had a private discussion with his Force-influence, Kathleen. "Can I help you?" the woman asked, as she walked into the cool, dimly lit room. The chiss' eyes glowed from his desk as he looked up. "Yes, Kathleen. Please, will you follow me to the hangar?" He got up and strode over to her, after grabbing his pistol. "I have another mission for you." "I'll serve best I can," she replied. "What is the nature?" He led the way to the lift, then gave the command to head down to the hangar. "Some recon, suited to your nature. Are you familiar with a planet called Geonosis?" "Yes. It was the headquarters of the Confederacy of Independant Systems prior to the Clone Wars, and home of the Geonosians. The planet's famous for its arena where prisoners are regularly fed to live fauna, such as Acklays and kath hounds." "Did you know it was also home of a Sith Temple. The Network pinpointed yesterday, and I'd like you to go." "Any particular reason?" "Several, actually. Primarily, I want you to bring back anything you think may be useful for research. While your there, do some recon. If you meet anyone worth bringing home... well, you'll know what to do." By this point, they'd arrived in the hangar, where a lone heavily-modified TIE Defender sat. It was obviously in shape, and it's hyperdrive looked more fit than its predecesor. It'd serve its purpose. "I want you to leave immediately, while we have a guarantted window of oppurtunity. Take as much time as you need, but don't be gone too long. I may need your help soon." She nodded, and walked off to the fighter without even being dismissed. (yep. Is back.. for a day or two) While Seto was fetching the Nemesis from the priates' hands, Elladan saw off Kathleen. No sooner was she gone, then he received a message from a state of the Hapes Cluster. He chose to ignore it for several days, but by the end of the week, he finally replied to the hailings, and opened a secure channel. "Attention Hapan State, this is the Loyalist Empire. Speak your business." ~ After a few hours, the pirates finally agreed to hand over the Nemesis in exchange for the ships full of resources and tech. Most expected a fight, even to the lengths of fighting the ship itself. Luckily, it didn't come to that. Myno was convinced the pirates were hoping to gain favor with the local power, so they could backstab them later, but in any case, the huge ship was theirs. A day later, enough persone and repairs were done to man the ship, and get it back covertly to Wayland by the end of the week. ~ Several days after she arrived on the desert wastes of Geonosis, Kathleen found the temple she was looking for. It would have been hard for anyone without the coordinates to the area, but for her, the Force was her compass. She found the huge spire almost as soon as she breached the atmosphere. The local sentients didn't bother her at all. She'd heard Geonosians weren't too stranger-friendly post-Clone Wars, but their fear of this Sith Temple outweighed their xenophobia. She was thus able to enter the temple almost as easy as it was to enter one of Kenet's bases. Inside, she found little of interest. The temple was long since looted, and years upon years of dust and decayed had turned the mausoleum into something of a wraith-sanctuary. The entire time, she fealt the presence of vengeful spirits, and even a potential dead Sith Lord, living as a Force Ghost. In the end, she found one artifact worth taking: an old,worn holocron she'd found buried in the dark corners of the inner tombs. The device had long-since lost whatever spirit possessed it, but its information was still intact, only locked within. With the treasure in hand, she left the planet and headed to Rodia for refuel.
A week after the Nemesis returned and was retrofitted, Elladan was quite pleased to find out that Vaan had taken up residence in his Dominion of the Hand. His forces were hardly threatening to him, especailly since his forces were ON LOAN to him. However, when he heard that the state was being dissolved into something more official, Elladan thought it prudent to offer assistance however was needed.
In one of his conference-reports to Vaan's officers...
I'm aware of certain political struggles within your plot of space. Old scuffles aside, I'd like to offer assistance in any way that'd help.
On a side-note, my contacts are willing to pay for any information you have on Imperial trade in the area. My sources tell me they're shiting their supply lines, but if you know anything, I'd be happy to exchange a squadron for it.
~
"So, how many do we have complete?" the Mandalorian commander asked the head Loyalist technician in the Mandal Cloning Facility.
"Aside from the experimental batch, we have fifteen thousand confirmed clonings." Colonel Stark replied, donning a white uniform, designating him as chief researcher. "Two-thousand of which are working off-planet, three-thousand out-system, four thousand employed on base, and the rest in training."
"How are your rations handling?"
"Well enough. Most of the clones get fair meal-sizes, especially on bases, but I'm more concerned with future crops."
"What about?"
"Well," he shrugged. "If we're to keep upgrading the facilities and production, we'll basically need more of everything: food, ysalamiri, room, ra material, etc. My quota's set for batches of twenty-thousand per month by the end of the year."
The Mandalorian, Dremel, whistled. "That's a lot. Soon, they'll be more of your clones running around then us."
"Probably, though if any more systems join us, the numbers will be more even."
((Not a problem Nelowulf. I have a plan. Tired of trying to be a Jedi, Sith get all the fun...))
Evading his way through the troops and back to his ship he uncovered and opened the hatch. He stepped inside and strode to the communications. With a flick of a switch he began to send a message to the ship above.
"My Lord," he began, kneeling in what would become a hologram soon enough. "I am Darth Kos. I know not what your mission is here or who you are, but I have information for you."
"My mission was to investigate the ruins of Iilum. I discovered the crystal caves of Iilum and found them... tainted by the Jedi, years ago. As of now I believe there to be no Jedi here."
"With my mission complete, I request clearance to bypass your ship and return to my Master."
Red_Ronin "Allright R4 keep the ship nice & steady. I'm going out & see what I can find out about this ship", Red tells his droid. Preparing himself for a spacewalk Red opens the hatch & lets himself float out into the void. Using a small hand held thruster he stole from someone along time ago Red manuvers himself alongside the ship. "I don't recognize the markings on it, yet something about it seems familiar." He peers into the broken front view port & sees the remains of the crew. Not much left from the assault this ship appears to have been under Red notices. Making his way inside Red searches the remains in hope of finding anything valuable. Noticing the remains of a robed figure Red makes his way over. "Something hanging on his side. Let see what this person was carrying." Taking the object off of the corpse Red reacognizes what he has found. "A lightsaber? What was a Jedi doing way out here I wonder? Guess I better get back to my ship & see if R4 has found any info on this ship."
