"So, did you plan to avoid me all night?"
Shehk had finally made a point to skirt around the wreckage of the chandelier towards a figure who was not too far on the other side of it from her, her arms folded behind her back and her expression serious. "Or did you expect you'd come in and then vanish like a phantom again?" Her tone may have come out more terse than it meant to, but the point was clear-
'You hurt me'.
She passed a look towards the wreckage that Amrita was sorting through to get Christof out of with a mildly bothered look on her face, before she looked back to Nuk again. "I guess that's your right, though. I figured I'd just come over and say I'm glad to see you're holding up alright. Hope the rest of the night treats you well."
It seemed she was going to leave it at that as she finally moved to turn away from him again.

Oh Jack, Hel was laughing. Well, it had been a very lovely compliment by Amarus, and Hel topped it off with another. "So, excellent hair and nimble digits." Sure he didn't have the body of a Shun, Mac or a Herryk but at least he was that? And suddenly they had company. A reaper Mot didn't know, at that, had made himself familiar with Amarus. The poor ghoul seemed confused, and then a Horsement sowed up and well. Mot just watched, sipping his punch. He had no idea what to think. Quote: THIS IS WHY I SHOULD NEVER SLEEP OTL

“ Oh, that is not a stranger!” Hel informed the ghoul. “ That is Shun…he is my uh…” What was that word she heard a lot that she decided described how she felt about her and Shun’s relastionship? Oh yes. “ He is my bro.” At Amarus’ next question, Hel rubbed her chin thoughtfully. “ A greeting? I…suppose? I usually only put an arm around someone’s shoulders if I have met them at least once though…” The reaper looked back at Mot. “ Ya! Excellent hair and nimble digits…you are set for a pin up career!” She then took another gulp of her punch.

Chryses was rather not impressed with himself tonight. Then again, if he happened to dis-impress both Mitzi and Shaheen,t hat wasn't particularly his problem. He hadn't come to Amityville to socialize, he had come to learn and prepare to take over his family's businesses. The fewer people who liked him or considered him a "friend," the fewer interruptions he would have from his work.
Oh, so the Horsewoman had brought a date? He couldn't decide how he felt about that. Probably a bit confused.
"The cleanup wouldn't be our problem anyway," he said rather dismissively.
And then the Horsewoman refereed to him as a she.
Well.
He drew himself up to his very unimpressive full height and crossed his arms. "I'll have you know that I am a boil, from a very old and well-established demon family, and I see no reason to take these insults from you."
Watch, as the tiny little demon challenges the big tough Horsewoman. This could only end in tears. (For Chryses.)

King had no idea what one worm to a 'prom'. He'd been told it was formal, and the only thing he really had that apparently really fit the bill was the suit that Freya and Danny had insisted he'd buy. A pale blue tie, his mask was that of the shadow swordsman, an honored champion of the dark elves that his people shared a few myths with. The great boar was another such story, but to wear the face of the great boar was to make jest at him and incur his wrath. Prom or not, the wolfos was going to er on the side of caution.
The music he'd heard was.. interesting and even if it was almost over, he'd come.
He's see what prom was all about.
Prom and how it was the courting ritual and a time that students looked for rutting partners or mates.
Hopefully there would less exploding ghouls this time.

"Worrywart." Mac chuckled once they were back and safe on the dance floor, using his free hand to ruffle her nicely styled hair (though he knew enough to not ruffle it to ruin it; believe it or not, he could be a gentleman!). She had rushed them out in a crazy hurry, not wanting to give people the wrong impressions...and as always, he thought she was completely and totally crazy. Completely.
"Well now, since you're done being crazy over nothing~" He meant the misunderstandings, not what she'd been crying about in the bathroom. "What now? Did you want to dance, or maybe...go mingle a little?" It was up to her what she wanted to do; he didn't mind loitering and bothering other people while she was off being a social butterfly.

As the horsewoman examined her spear, Mitzi found herself getting slightly embarrassed again. A bit pleased with the praise, but really, prom was not the time, and did Shaheen not get that? Wait, no, clearly she didn't, why was the ghoul being surprised at this? She let her spear dissipate, replying only with, "Um, thanks, I guess."Of course, then Shaheen leaned in and made her observations about Mitzi's date. And offer to "dispose of her". Unlike the horsewoman, Mitzi was just reasonably certain Chryses was a wimpy boil, but the whole comment just hit her funny bone, especially coming off an adrenaline rush as she was. She found herself outright giggling, and after a few moments of trying to contain it, just gave up. She was just about to try telling Shaheen something to the effect that she appreciated the offer, but she could handle him herself if it came to that, when Chryses made his entirely unimpressive attempt to stand up for himself. Which just sent the Reaper into another fit of giggles.

With everything taken care of, the chandelier cleaned up and re-hung, Junko sighed with relief and finally sat down to count the votes that had been made throughout the night. She was amazed by them, really. It was just so incredible to see it. Some of them raced neck and neck until the very end, some of them completely swept house--was that how the phrase worked?--but in the end five definite winners were decided. Junko was so excited! She may have squealed a little from the table where she was counting the votes by the stage. And by a little, what I mean to say is she squealed and jumped with joy. There was a quick check to make sure all of the crowns were in orders; the King and Queen would each receive a crown, while the prince and princess would receive a smaller version of the crown and a lovely tiara. The Jester? The Jester got a stupid looking jester hat. The hat may not have been her decision...okay, it totally wasn't her decision. She wanted to give them something more tasteful like the rest of the winners but others had insisted. Fine. Once all was settled and gathered, Junko climbed up onto the stage to stand beside the DJ booth, accompanied by their trusty little gnome assistants. They looked a little beat up and battered thanks to Christof, except for Dr. Love who had decided to put on a tacky, sparkly pink suit with a cape and a large collar. Someone had donated it to him, and so he was wearing it. Junko hated it but it was better than being naked or listening to him complain the rest of the night about Christof ruining his suit. The gnomes held the crowns on velvet pillows high above their heads, waiting for Junko's word. The music was quieted down until it stopped completely, allowing Junko a chance to take the microphone. She held a piece of paper in her hands and had a huge excited smile on her face. "Attention everyone~! Attention!" She called out over the microphone, even bouncing a little as she did. She waited until all eyes were on her before she continued. "Good evening~! I'm so glad to see you're all having fun, even given a few ah..mishaps..." A glance was given to the chandelier before she looked down upon the crowd again. "It means a lot to us to see that despite everything everyone is able to get together and have a great time! Thank you all so much for making this prom great! It's so nice to see all of you!"Brutus cleared his throat and looked up at her. Junko blushed, muttering a small 'oh, right' before continuing again. No tangents. Right! "The votes for this year's prom courts have all been counted! And we are proud to announce.." She grinned even more. "This year's Prom King is Invictus! And Prom Queen is Lizzy! We also have Jove for Prince and Xiu for Princess! If you would please come up to receive your crowns!" So that was why Junko had been so excited. She bounced a bit as she watched and waited for the four winners to approach the stage, taking each crown and gently placing them on their heads herself; the gnomes couldn't be trusted with that much. The microphone was offered to each winner, allowing them time for any words of gratitude or the like that they may have to offer. Once that was settled she cleared her throat again, resisting the very strong urge to hug the entire court. "And finally, by very popular demand, this year's Jester is none other than Roch! Congratulations~! Ah, we have a hat for you as well if you'd like it. I'm very sorry it wasn't my idea." Oliver proudly held up the pillow with the hat sitting on it, stumbling and swaying a bit from the weight of the object suddenly shifting in a way he wasn't anticipating. He was given a look by Brutus and quickly saved it. The hat didn't touch the floor! Yay! Should Roch decide he did want the hat, Junko would happily place it on his head for him. Again, Junko had to resist the urge to hug everyone as she picked up the microphone one more time, offering it to Roch first for anything he might have to say. She then continued. "Congratulations, you guys! Now, as per tradition, the King and Queen may have their dance! With any choice of music they like, of course." Junko stepped aside, having to take an extra moment to adjust her very unforgiving skirt. "And again, thank you all very much for coming! We hope you continue to enjoy your night as you have been!" She gave a little bow and set the microphone in its stand again, helping the winners off the stage. Quote: CONGRATULATIONS COURT WINNERS! Now for prizes! Prom King and Prom Queen each win 20 Masque Points and a special treat! No, really. A special treat. The King shall receive the Masque Treat, the Queen the Cirque Treat! Congratulations! Prince and Princess will be receiving 15 Masque Points! Jester will be receiving 10 Masque Points! THANK YOU SO MUCH EVERYONE FOR ALL THE FUN <3

Losing his shoes was one thing, provided that he had actually put them somewhere in the first place. But seeing as Alexander had just kicked them to the side? Yin was seriously beginning to wonder if packing so much book knowledge into his head was starting to push out his common sense. Really, the could be anywhere by now, but if he left his bonded to search for them alone...at his pace it would probably take all night. Yin was very much for the idea of finding them sooner rather than later however. Despite the events he had actually taken a moment to slow down, and since he had he was beginning to notice that it was getting later. He was not yawning in exhaustion yet, but he was certainly thinking about sleep a bit more fondly than before. "Indeed I did," Yin answered a bit distractedly as he took a step away, peering about for a pair of shoes. Or even one if Alexander was truly so careless as to not kick them in the same direction. "Miss Xiu-Ying was with Lady Hel, so I was able to greet them both along with another they were with." And he thought he had seen Ulmuka waving at him, but by the time he had fully turned to look the strix had disappeared from view... He had actually not seen the rabo since he had dropped her off, which somewhere, deep inside, was killing him. But he was also trying to be strong and not go check on her, he was positive that she was having fun. Just positive. If only he knew how evilly Alexander's pet was behaving, he would have raced to her side and taken her home that instant, quite possibly without even bothering to tell Alexander goodbye. So really, it was for the good of the date that he did not check on her. Oh there, was there something on the floor?! No...just the edge of a cup. Really, how could people be so filthy as to not find a trashcan?! Oh wait, that was something Alexander would do. Some sort of announcement was being made. Prom court? Apparently Invictus and Lizzy were a good pairing, as well as Jove and...Miss Xiu-Ying? He would have to find out if this "Jove" was worthy of his friend. And then Roch won something, but he was alone, and Yin was not entirely sure what that meant, but the announcement of the winners did not distract him entirely from his task

"P-Pin up career!?" Mot stuttered with a horrified face.
He didn't have long to wallow in that outburst.
The winners for Prom Court were announced, and his heart began beating happily for his friends. "CONGRATULATIONS!!" He called out to wherever they were. He knew Jove and kind of knew Invictus, but Xiu and Lizzy were dear to his heart. He was more excited for the ghouls than anything else. As for Roch? He saw it coming. He clapped for them all, regardless.

Alex was actually pretty much lacking in the common sense department most of the time, and he might have found it rather surprising that Yin was just starting to realize this. "That's good," He replied, watching as Yin took a step away from him. He guessed that meant that the weremantis wanted to look for the missing shoes right now. Either that or he didn't really want Alex's company and was looking for a way to escape, but he let that thought slip out of his mind pretty much as quickly as it had entered. "I had a dance with Mei and her date. She's here with a horseman." That concept just seemed odd to Alex, who still couldn't quite figure out what they would want to be doing here, at a students function. Weren't they all ancient or something? "And then another horseman that I've met before called me over and introduced me to a new student." He finished, hoping to explain his absence as well as make conversation. The zomboil had a glance around as well, but didn't put much thought or effort into it. He really just figured they would turn up when they turned up and didn't really feel like spending the rest of his evening searching when he could be having fun instead. "I think things are starting to wind down now. Maybe we could get another dance in before we leave?" He sounded incredibly hopeful, and despite the fact that he was no longer wearing shoes so he did not actually need any help keeping his balance, he took a step forward so that he was back beside his bonded, and reached over to slide his hand into Yin's, feeling an almost instant sense of contentment. And indeed, it did seem as though things were coming to a close as some activity began over by the screejay booth, and a voice rang out over the microphone and through the speakers. The prom court was being announced, and again Alex found himself wondering at the names that were being called as some were unrecognizable to him. He was happy to hear that Xiu had gotten voted in as princess, though, and he smiled in approval. He also would have clapped, but that would have meant letting go of Yin's hand, and if the weremantis didn't pull away he wasn't likely to do it either.

"You still owe me a dance... But I do want to talk to Sou- I mean Junko, and Xiu, and Mitsu-" Before Lizzy could complete her sentence, however, Junko had called for their attention - and since she love herself a Junko, Lizzy shut up completely to listen to whatever she had to say. When prom court was mentioned, the Demoness turned pale, grabbing Mac by his shoulder and tugging him down towards her, "IforgotaboutvotingwhatshouldIdowhatifJunkoisupset-"
Wait.
Waaaaaaaaaaaaiiiiiiiit.
She might had blacked out while standing, her arms still on her boilfriend's shoulders as she stared at the stage with a surprised OAO expression. This expression stayed as she blinked, turning to look at Mac again, slowly letting go of his shoulders to peck him on the cheek, whispering in such a way that it was like she was trying to explain some sort of conspiracy to him, "You're the king of my heart."
She then walked up the stage to receive her crown, giving Junko a hug once the ceremony was over. Again, she used the conspiracy whisper, "I am so proud of you." She was practically sparkling at her soulmate. Once that was done, she wondered over to both Xiu and Jove, gathering them both up in a group hug. She sounded both delighted and excited as she let them go, beaming at her friends, "Grats to you both!"
The title of princess and prince really suited them both... Although all ghouls and boils are princesses and princes in her heart; everyone deserves a crown.
Having settled her personal business, she walked over to the Horseman Heir of Conquest - Invictus - performing a curtsy to be polite before neatly folding her hands in front of her, offering the boil a small smile, "Would you like to pick out a song?"demon_pachabel UHHH you can totally GM her for the dance if you like OTL I know there's not much time left for prom and you might be busy/have things you want to do :'D

Nergui didn't think Amrita's apology was really meant for her, so she didn't say anything as the undead ghoul ran off to the aid of the poor hunchback that had fallen all to pieces on the dance floor along with the chandelier. She did smile though, of course it might have been more for the fact that she had found herself once again alone with the skinwalker, rather then any response to what Rita had said. Pearly whites gleamed between the full buds of dark lips as she pushed away from the wall again and moved to join Nuk on the edge of the dance floor where his friend had left him. "Well now that's just a shame," she mused, almost idly, as she watched the other ghoul tend to her fallen date. After assuring the igor was alright, relatively, it was suggested they all pitch in to help clean up the floor, but the priestess merely stood there beside Nukpana, watching quietly at the rest of the attending students and horsemen busied themselves with picking up the mess. When enough of it was gone so there wouldn't be worry of an injury the ghoul turned, and lifted one dark hand as if she would rest it lightly on the boil's forearm. It stopped barely an inch from the sleeve of his jacket as yet another ghoul, also undead, wandered over to interrupt them. This one didn't seem half as friendly as the other two. In fact it seemed as though she'd only come over to rub some old emotional drama in Nukpana's face. The distraction was enough to sour Nergui's mood, but what it entailed.. Well, the horsewoman could only really take so much, and thus far she'd behaved exceptionally well, all things considered. Had the pricolici not turned to take her leave after getting out what she'd come to say there would probably have been a little hell to pay. As it was, they were all spared whatever unfortunate thing the priestess was likely to say as the situation diffused itself. Finally letting her hand fall that last inch to Nuk's arm, she curled delicate fingers around his elbow and tugged gently. The dance could wait, she was more interested in making sure whatever that undead had said didn't ruin the rest of the night. "Let's go outside for a few minutes." It wasn't quite a question, but it did leave room for him to refuse if he really wanted to. She gave him another gentle tug as they began announcing the prom court.

Bilious OMG I'M SO LATE I think everyone is gone but here, have a belated tag about what Amarus would have done if I hadn't gone into the city to run errands for five hours OTL Honestly, Amarus could have cared less that the Reaper had his arm around her, mostly because he was a stranger and therefore it just could not bother her. Whatever. "You live Swing? I have come to like it nearly as much as I like a good fight," she said, excited. And oblivious. "... I weigh as much as I want to weigh?" she offered, completely confused. She was a ghost, if she wanted to weigh next to nothing, she could. She'd feel like dense mist to touch, but she wouldn't weight anything. "Honestly, though, Mot is a far better dancer than I am, you should consider him a worthy dance partner rather than me," she said, "after all, he taught me in the first place." Amarus looked towards Mot and grinned.
"A bro! I have been a bro before... and a trap," Amarus announced, with a certain degree of pride.
"Long hair and nimble digits is not all you have going for you," she ammended to Mot, belatedly. "What is a pin-up?"
Lizzy won prom queen! Amarus was not pleased to see that Roch won jester, but only because the only time she had met him, he was threatening her over a Scarentines disagreement, which did not seem funny to Amarus at all. She looked at Mot and Hel with a certain degree of excitement: "Lizzy is the queen?! I am sad that Mac is not her King, though," Amarus admitted.
