Coline jumped a little in her seat as the drow let out a very audible gasp, watching him with raised brows as he went about his explanation. She was more confused than anything, really; he sounded... nervous? Fidgety? Was she really able to tell, this early in the morning? Finally taking notice of the stunned state she was in, the recruit lowered her--

"Are you awake, dear? I heard--Oh!"

As fate would have it, there the Priestess was, hands clasped over her mouth in shock. Her eyes flickered from Coline, holding up a most scandalous piece of underwear, to the Captain, and back to Coline again. "Oh... Oh dear. I apologize, I didn't mean to intrude on your... delicate affairs." after a few lingering moments of disbelief, she cleared her throat and, appearing to have regained her composure, smiled warmly at the couple. "I'll be in the kitchen."

An awkward silence filled the room as the Priestess made her exit. It took some time, but the gravity of the situation eventually came to her, and Coline lowered the lacy garment back onto her lap in belated wariness. "I, uhh..." she began, eyes glued to her lap in embarrassment. "I... appreciate the thought, I really do, but I don't think these are very..." there was a short pause, "durable...?"

Raising her head, she flashed a sheepish grin. "Still, thank you very much. I will treasure all of them."

It's impossible to judge just how bad a situation can get until you're actually spiralling down a long, long track with no visible end in sight. As it was, things couldn't possibly get any worse, and yet the probability that they WOULD was rather terrifyingly high. Jessie just slumped further in defeat as the misunderstanding deepened to unforseen proportions with the Priestess' arrival, weariness fast overtaking shame. He wasn't quite sure how he'd gotten into this situation, but he knew the familiar hated feeling of things being out of his scope, and out of his control. Thank you very much, Cressa.

He sighed deeply as the Priestess left, bowing his head and covering his face with both hands. They were only removed as her final comment hung in the air, and he looked up at her sharply - disbelievingly. "You LIKE them?!"

A second of silence passed before he corrected himself. His red eye flickered with a spark of the warmth he felt for beautiful young woman, and it found its way into the words that came forth like soft, rounded honey. Admiring, yet undeniably tinged with sadness. "No - you didn't say that, did you? You're just... being your normal, appreciative self."

Hopelessness consumed once more as he found himself with nothing to say. His face fell again, mouth which had been making its way into a smile casting itself down like a wet-weather day. "Oh, Coline. I'm so sorry. When I bought you these presents - not the lingerie," he stressed, interrupting himself "Those I would never have chosen for you in a millenia - when... when I bought you the presents I just wanted to apologise for all the grief I've caused you. Now it seems I have more apologising to do than ever."

He bowed deeply, bending in two. "I'm sorry..."

Holding the posture for a few moments, he then returned to his upright position, still about as slumped as anyone had ever seen him. The drow continued speaking sadly after another sigh - more to himself than anything, gaze remaining on the floor. "I should just stop imposing myself upon your life, shouldn't I? It's not like I'm wanted, anyway. I don't deserve your favour... or your forgiveness."

A small smile crossed her face as Odin offered help.

"Th... Thank you, Odin. Thank you very much." She said with her own voice, not hiding behind her doll.

Pausing to let Odin speak, she looked down for a moment, hiding behind her long fringe, before speaking again.

"If you... think that is best..." She mumbled, then followed Odin closely from behind.

Evelyn grabbed Xeiashi's arm, hoping to keep him steady. "If you're sure, garçon," she said worriedly.

As Evelyn and Xeiashi walked, her mind wandered. The Temple was feeling more and more like home, and that thought both warmed and frightened her. She had yet to have her own room there--still sleeping in the Library with Bakar. But she never meant to make this her home...

Before she had even realized it, she and Xeiashi had made it to the infirmary.

Lingerie... Ah! Yes, she remembered now! She remembered hearing someone mention it some time back in camp, about a couple of months ago, and when she asked what it was they never gave her a straight answer. But everything made sense now. "So that's what pretty underwear are called..." Coline mumbled to herself, gaze returning to the box of lacy unmentionables.

Though she had to wonder for a moment who would think of wearing these. They appeared a little too... showy, for something you wear underneath your garments. What purpose could all these adornments possibly serve? And that narrow piece of cloth at the back on some of them... Wouldn't it be uncomfortable to wear these, and again, what purpose did it serve?

It was too early in the morning to be mulling over such things, as if the light buzzing in her head wasn't proof enough, and so she brushed the thought aside for now; the answers would come to her in time. The Captain, slumped and weary in front of her, demanded her undivided attention.

"...If you're talking about what happened yesterday morning, then it's not your fault. You don't need to apologize." she began, her tone reassuring. "And even if it was, a simple apology would have sufficed, really. I'm not saying that I don't appreciate what you've done--because I do, and word's can't express how grateful I am--but... please don't feel compelled to give me anything. I don't think I've done anything to warrant such generosity."

A nigh audible sigh escaped her lips, eyes cast towards his feet as she went on. "I may have already mentioned this to you before, but I'm used to spite. What Miss Cressa said simply... took me by surprise. That's all." a few thoughtful moments passed before she raised her head back up to hold the drow's gaze, a slight curve up her lips. "I'm fine now. There is no cause for you to worry."

It had been a long night, and the storm lulled him to sleep, next to the big cat man. The rakshasa showed no sign of stirring throughout the night. He must have been exhausted from whatever it was he did. Storm couldn't think of him as a beast anymore. For some reason, the dawn had brought with it a new sense of being. He had finally accepted his new life... Cespanar had Slept peacefully through the night as well. It must have been his first true act of sleep since he was created. Storm Smiled at the thought and stretched slowly. He still wore his Blue tabard and leathers, perhaps he'd change. Yes, He was sure it would be best.
He rose from the floor and the pillow he had. A silver basin with cool water was on a table across the way, and he walked over, careful not to disturb anything else in the building. He raised some water in his hands, the small amounts of purple lights just flittering in through the small window. he washed his face, somewhat, and walked quickly from the room. As he exited he saw the two guards that had 'relieved' him- one asleep, the other just nodding off. He smiled inwardly, tapping the nodding guard as he walked by, winking at the dazing man. Gwarn was no threat, at least at the moment.
He walked out, leaving the puppy, the guards, Gwarn, and the two felinid girls in the infirmary. He was greeted by the cool morning air.. the sent of the morning light, the storm having cleaned the island, and Storm. A short walk led him to the beach, a secluded area, with white sand, soft and spread for a good dozen meters to either side. It faced directly towards the raising sun, the edge of it's great sphere a crescent gracing the water's edge. Pinks and purples shot across the sky, their pastel hues touched with blue and red in places, the orange of the sun streaking into the sky as it rose. It was beautiful, and Storm watched it's entirety. His head lolled to the side, and a sight he would not have expected greeted him. He did not jump, as it wasn't unwelcome.
He sat on the edge of the sad against a two foot bank, he back against the small dirt wall. Beside him was a visage of his father.
He was at peace too. The old man, not so old, smiled at the sunrise with him, his face filled with laughter, even if it was silent. The moment seemed perfect... Music played in his ears, though he didn't hear it. the vision of his father looked at him, and shifted Storm's attention to his other side.. And there was Jessil. She was like his father, a ghost, but a spirit at peace. She smiled, though he saw a tear in her eye. He wanted to touch her, to hold her, one last time, but he couldn't. his arms wrapped around her, but he couldn't feel her. Her presence was there, and the warmth from her embraced him, but no corporeal from met him. Tears fell from his eyes, but they were not bitter tears. this was his old life, leaving, and his new one beginning.
He sat there, at the edge where the sand met the earth, watching the Rising of the Dawn with the two people he had loved most in Faerun... and he lived that life, one last time. The sun finally made it's way into the sky, it's golden globe hanging suspended above the water, and the apparitions faded away. he was left alone, on the sand. To his right, a gold locket, one he had given Jessil last year on Spring Solstice.. A testament of their love. And to his left...
A book laid beside him, something he had never seen before. It was a large, leather bound book, it's spine and edges with silver leaf. Written in Sylvan were the words 'Those who Harp' across the front in a beautiful aqua color. it had a lock, but the key was inside. Perhaps a look?
He turned the key, and it opened with a slight creak, dust spilling from the inside cover, as well as a few loose pieces of paper. One, was a note, written by his father, the other... A picture of Storm and him, on Storm's eighteenth birthday, back on the Islands. It was a glorious day, just like this one. Magic had captured them on the paper, the sunrise and all. Opening the book farther, he found two more... One, a map, that detailed the Gambino isles, written in a language he could not understand. the other.. Another picture. Storm, his Father and Jessil sat together, on the beach, one final embrace before a new life.

I will live my own life. No one else's.

((Timeskip to wherever we are in the RP lol))

Alexi looked up at the sign hanging from the ceiling. "Infirmary", it read.
"I wonder if I can find some people here," she said to herself, pushing open the doors and going inside.

"It's not a case of whether or not you've done anything worthy of gifts," he replied quickly "You deserve so much more than I could ever give."

Jessie lowered his voice slightly, meeting her gaze with sympathy. "I remember what Cressa said, and I understand what you've been through. You... can't let what you've been told all these years keep you in chains. You're worth something."

"It's not enough to know your limits..

She led them back to the Order as quickly as she could. Fighting against the foliage and the impending darkness Odin parted a path through the thick plant-life to made their way through. She had not noticed how deep into the woods they had trekked. The only sound that accompanied them was the rustling of leaves and the snapping of twigs seeing as both girls were not the type to make small talk.

They managed to emerge from the forest after a while with little more than a scratch here and there.

Odin proceeded to the Temple and cracked open the heavy door letting them both in. They found there was nothing going on in the main chamber. She heard Dorothy shuffle towards her as she took in the sight of the main hall but there was nothing more to be noticed there but the shifting of the light and the sound of the candles and water.

She slowly moved towards the back corridor of the building hoping to find someone to ask. As she moved forward she heard talking on the far side of the hallway towards the stairs.

[Dorothy]

Dorothy followed Odin closely. Everything seemed so foreign, which was no surprise, seeing how she's never been in this region at all before.
As they continued down the corridor, she heard some weird noises.

Noises that sounded like someone digging into food a bit faster than the average person.

... Brother?

She took his hand and gave him her name.
"Delighted to make your acquaintance, Miss Burobell," he said with the most suave smile he could muster. He held Cespanar in his free hand, under his arm as he lifted the surprisingly light girl from the ground. Skin did not meet his palm, but a light pad, and soft fur, pleasing to the touch.
Cespanar yipped in (seemingly) delight, meeting a new person, drawing attention. Sensing questions popping into her head, he preemptively explained. "This little mutt here is Cespanar," he said, ruffing up the fur on top of his head, being careful to not poke his hand on the horns.
"He is a...." then he came to a blank. What kind of dog has horns?
Oh... Crap.
"He is my familiar," he lied. "He has been with me for a while, but I hadn't yet brought him out. "
Then her question hit him. Infirmary? What could she possibly want down there? and how did news travel so damn fast in this place? Either way, he had to explain.
"I was actually just heading down there myself," he said. Then he remembered the heavy rain, patting down on them. "Let's get you inside before we talk anymore. You'll be soaked in seconds,"
Or do they control me?
User Image"I come from the North, where there is no autumn..."

"Aww, you're a little cutie~. I like the horns!" she said, bending down to pet him. She gave a half-laugh, smiling wide. She'd always had a soft spot for animals.

Straightening up, she said, "I'm already soaked, between the damn rain and the fact that I just ran out of the bathhouse like an idiot without drying myself."

Suddenly, she flinched. Her left hand began to glow faintly, almost as if from the inside. "I need some help in the infirmary, and I'd better get there quick. Will you help me? It'll be difficult to watch what I'm going to have to do, I'll warn you..." she said, as she began to walk quickly along the corridor.

"...Where the cold crouches over you like a snow leopard waiting to pounce."

If a diety created all that is...

(same morning as Storm's)

A groan, then a rustle, followed by another groan and the word, "Already?..." Xeiashi's eyes opened to blinding sunlight and blue sky. what the....I thought I was in the infirmary....ohgod, not again... he thought, but unfortunately, it happened. Xeiashi had sleepwalked out of the temple and onto the beach.

"bah, must have been the incense...I've never slept well after somebody's lit one of those things..." he said to himself as he stood to survey his surroundings. It was actually quite peaceful for the moment; only the sound of waves crashing on the shore reached his ears; only a few distant birds disturbed the asure sky. "I'm going to sleep here more often." he decided on a whim. After all, he spotted the Temple Bay a short hike or swim away. Hunger was forgotten as he began transmuting the beginnings of a small hut.

[transmute mundane object]

roughly an hour later, his stomach would remind him of its emptiness. Xeiashi then left the partly-finished hut to trek to the Temple Kitchens.

((yup, I'm buildin a hut, its roughly a 20-minute westward walk from the Temple))
...wouldn't all writers be dieties of their own worlds?

-Xeiashi Zakariz

(note, the actual location might be changed depending on what else is 20 minutes west from the Temple...if anybody can think of something, please tell me)
