Lily soon had the deer drained. "Now, go get one for yourself," she told him, watching him in worry.
"We didn't really have much of a plan ourselves," Chiasa commented with a small smile. She was quiet for a moment. "Do you think that they will still come after us?"

Kir closed his eyes. A few seconds later, another dead animal was drifted his way. He made it land on the ground a few feet away from him. Walking over to it and kneeling down, he bent over and bit into the animal's neck. His claws dug into it's flesh as he calmly drained the animal.
"Most likely..." Core said, looking down at his chest, "They probably want the crystallis..." He put his hand over where he felt the sharp burning.

Kir let the animal go and slowly sat back, closing his eyes like he was somewhat satisfied.
"Crystallis are solid representations of souls," Core said, "The Academy is that good at making them that it was named after those jewel-like things..."

Lily slowly reached out and gripped one of Kir's hands. She turned him away from the two dead animals a bit. "Stand down," she told him.
"So... you have another soul in your chest?" Chiasa asked, sounding a little confused.

Kir exhaled and opened his eyes. He looked up at Lily as his eyes returned to normal. He smiled weakly.
"...Basically," Core said. He didn't like it either.

"And the Academy wants to get it back? But... then, why did they put it in you in the first place?" Chiasa asked.

Mana wasnt sure if the bedrooms in the house were open to them. "Where do you want to sleep?" He asked not sure if she wanted to stay in a bedroom. He hoped no one would mind.

Kir nodded and swallowed hard. He was trying not to throw the blood up. He could smell it from the animals behind him.
"I don't know...I don't understand either. It makes no sense to me," Core said, "All I know is that it's here and it's burning."

"Let's go back," Lily said, trying to lead him back towards the city.
Chiasa nodded, but then she began to feeel a little edgy. Her blood was almost humming in her veins. She looked around for what might be causing it.
