"You never know. Maybe there's some part to Damian that knows that he'll lose her if he doesn't marry her. Or something." Lorey swung her feet a bit as they dangled over the edge of the counter. Richard always made her feel rather small, but he had that effect on everyone. Even though she knew about how women were so poorly treated in the world and how they needed to stand up for themselves and all that, she loved feeling so small by him. It made her feel safe, like she was protected and could be snatched away by him in a moment.
Damian moved from his chair to retrieve his glass and sit beside her. The way his eyebrows were raised and the suspicious look in his eye betrayed him, as he wasn't sure what Raquel was up to at all. "It's not too much. I've been in too much, believe me." He took a sip of his wine and kissed her cheek. "You've actually calmed me down quite a bit, if you can believe it."

Richard thought on that a moment, but nodded in agreement. "Or something like that..." he sighed as he came over to her, smiling as he kissed her again. "What do you want to do tonight love? We have rest of the afternoon to ourselves... We could pick up reading again, since I know you love that... or talk about the wedding, or... or i can tell you how the house is coming along... Its all up in the air love.." He smiled gently, loving the feeling of such a lazy yet peaceful afternoon to themselves.
Raquel smiled, taking a long sip of her own wine then leaning up to kiss his jaw for herself. "I'd have to say the same for you Mr. Centurion." She stuck up her nose in a joking fashion, as she always did whenever she said his name with such a funny finesse. "That makes us rather dull doesn't it." She smiled widely at the thought, sinking into him a little.

"Why don't we..." she said, putting her arms around his neck. "Why don't we go and sit in the library, and you can tell me about the house and everything, and if we feel like reading we will. And if we feel like talking about the wedding, we will." It was then that the little appliance rang out that her food was ready, making her jump a mile with wide blue eyes. Usually when something scared her badly, she felt like she had to pull herself from the brink of a faint, but now, she just felt... surprised. And nothing but that.
"At the moment, I suppose, we are," he purred. "Though I would never call you boring. Never at all." He kissed her ear and returned to his wine. It was a very fine one, and already made him feel warm inside. Perfect for the cooling weather, and for his house that was still air conditioned.

"Sounds like a plan to me..." He Richard smiled, scooping her up off the counter and was a bout to carry her off when he remembered her food. "Ah- darn...Go get your food, but I want a bite ok?" He winked, setting her down again.
The wine was taking effect over Raquel as well. She smiled lightly, feeling a little bit better with each sip. her hair was still a bit damp, and still very cold form hr shower, but she knew it'd dry out eventually. "And I wouldn't you..." She sighed, looking up at him for a moment. a short silence set in before see took one last big sip of wine, setting it on the floor, before coming up to sit behind him on the bed. She rested her head on his back, giving him a nice, gentle back and shoulder massage. A little bit longer of a silence set in before she finally spoke. "...do you think...I'm actually smart enough for a school like this one?" She asked after a moment, though kept on about her business. "I mean... I barely made it out of highschool with a GED... how can I understand anything they have for me there?" She furrowed her brow, and even her hands topped moving after a moment.

Lorey took the few steps to get her food out of the appliance and went back to Richard, with chicken, cool salsa, and a bottle of ice-cold soda. "I'll share. But only if we cuddle." She pointed her finger at him as if this were a key element in her ability to share anything. "If we don't, you don't get anything at all."
Damian finished off his glass, too. With eyes closed, he enjoyed the massage greatly, and was so relaxed when she asked her question that he hardly seemed phased by it at all. "Yes. You have the right environment to focus now. No worries other than what you have to get done. You didn't have that before..."

Richard smirked, putting his arm around her as they headed off to the library. "That sounds like a fair deal to me..." He smiled easily, stealing a kiss as well as a her soda for a sip.
Raquel let that sink in a moment, before nodding finally. "Yea.... Yea I guess you're right..." She furrowed her brow a bit more, continueing to rub his back. "And...You'll still be here for me to marry when I'm done right?" She asked, leaning into him to kiss the back of his neck, showing she knew the answer to that. She thought a moment longer, nodding finally. "Ok...Yea ok...I think...Maybe I will go....But nothing's set in stone yet." She put emphasis on the last part, not wanting to feel locked into one decision forever. The only time she had done that was when Damian proposed, but that was somehting entirely different.

Once inside the library, Lorey waited for Richard to sit down in the cushy armchair before she sat sideways next to him, with her legs over his lap so they could both fit. "Here you are," she said, holding a forkful of chicken to his lips. "sharing, just like I promised..."
Damian turned his head to look at her. "You'd be dorming?" he wondered aloud. If that was the case, then they'd be separated for quite some time. Months of her being away, and while he could visit, he didn't want to distract her...

Richard smiled, taking a bite and closing his eyes. "Mm..delicious..." He held up his fingers as if say it were exquisite, but simply laughed a little, not able to hold the upperclassman's style for too long in casual setting. "I know we talked on the phone some, but what did I miss while I was away Hm?"
Raquel swallowed, setting her head against his shoulder. "I'm not sure yet... but thats what one of the brochures read... Now you're starting to see my dilemma here...." She furrowed her brow. "Thats why...I've been thinking about it...what if I just take a year or so's worth of classes that I couldn't take online. Then I can just finish it up through online classes and be with you..." Though that still meant being away form him for too long. She wasn't sure what she wanted still, as she moved so she could look at him better, though still said nothing.

Lorey looked contemplative before popping a bit of salsa and chicken in her mouth. She'd miss the kitchen so much, but it would be good for her to know how to cook properly. "Hm... creased myself pretty bad on my hip at work," she said. With her free hand, she lifted her shirt a bit to reveal a good bruise. She was fine, though, but sore. "Read a few books... And noticed that I don't feel like I'm going to faint over loud noises or anything shocking anymore. I even went swimming a little bit with a floaty. And... Trinity and I found a mouse before it got away."
She gave him a smile and offered another piece of chicken or sip of soda as they sat in their quiet part of the house.
"Is it truly that difficult for you to not have me around, badgering you and keeping you up all night?" Damian craned his neck to kiss hers. The thought of her being away was terrible, but maybe it was a good thing. After all, she shouldn't sacrifice her happiness and chances at education for him.

Richard smiled again, taking another bite. "Sounds eventful. I'm glad you weren't bored to tears without me... actually I'm surprised you aren't bored to tears when I am here..." He chuckled a little, kissing the side of he head.
Raquel sat upright more and took his face in her hands to make him look at her. "You want me to answer honestly? ...Yes... Yes it is." Her green eyes were serious and clouded as if that were really a big burden on her heart, and it was at that.

"Why would you say that? I love having you around..." Lorey knew he said those things about himself, but didn't think he actually held himself to be that boring of a person. Wasn't it just a little while ago that he had scooped her up and made her laugh uncontrollably in the mall? She knew he couldn't always be spontaneous or else she'd come to expect it, and where was the fun in that?
His brow furrowed, and he tried to look back at her fully without feeling an odd sensation. He didn't want Raquel to be that dependent on him. He just wasn't used to one person feeling that much for him... "Why?" was all he could ask.

"I know, I just like to check in and make sure I'm doing a good job you know?" He raised an eyebrow and kissed her again, not being able to help himself at this point, so took a sip of her soda to try to keep his lips off her for a moment.
Raquel's eyes dropped. Part of her just wanted to ask him why? Why he didn't know. He should... shouldn't he? "...I love you..." She looked up at him, directly in the eye, not wavering for a moment. "I've never been able to look a man in the eye and with a strong voice of my own will... tell him I loved him... and mean it, mind you." She had so many words behind her eyes, but wasn't sure where to start, so she simply stopped there. "Thats why."

Lorey wasn't any better. Once she was done with her food, she set it down and put her arms around his neck for another kiss. She'd missed him terribly, and just wanted to be close. "I'll let you know if you're ever not doing a good job. How's that?" And she kissed him again to assure him that he was doing a good job, and that she was happy as anything just being there with him.
Damian turned around to face her fully. He should have known that. He should have known that after all the work she did to keep him healthy after he'd been attacked. Maybe it was just his past nature not to be completely and utterly dependent on anyone but himself when it came to his well-being, physically or or emotionally, and he didn't feel anyone should be for him. Old habits were hard to get rid of, after all.
"I love you, too." He reached out to bring her into a hug. Just a hug, and nothing more.

Richard smiled, holding her tight. "Sounds like a plan. I'd offer to tell when you drive me crazy but then I'd just be talking all day and You couldn't get me to shut up." He winked, pressings his forehead against her.
Raquel hugged him back, just feeling him against her. She just listened to his breathing, and felt his heart beat against her own. At each beat, she grasped him a little tighter, just wanting him to feel how much she really did love him. As if the last few weeks and her own words weren't enough. Though she didn't want to use her powers, though wasn't sure if she could help that at this point.

"Save for the mall, I honestly am not trying." Lorey nuzzled his nose with her little slightly cold one. "But why do you think that you're boring? Did people tell you that a lot before you met me?" It concerned her greatly, because she didn't want Richard to feel down on himself all the time, or feel as if she wasn't happy with him.
"If going away for just a bit will help you achieve your dreams, I am willing to let you go. But only if you want. And we have all this time ahead of us..." though he stopped, thinking of Richard and his wife. They could have said the same things, only to have Rose murdered. They didn't know if they had time. No one knew...
