"Yeah, I'm a bit tired out myself." Mike said with a bit of a laugh, recalling the Magby after praising him for a job well done. "But, now I'm at least comforted with the fact that against that very Pokemon, on his very beach, at this very time of day, I can at least counter..." he thought for a moment. "Three of his moves! For at least a few minutes anyway. That is, if you don't use any other moves and stand still for like, ten turns so as Napalm can wail on Torkoal without consequence." He chuckled at the thought of little Napalm pounding his tiny fists on a stationary and annoyed Torkoal.

"Thank you though." said Mike as he followed Flannery to their blankets. "I'm really happy that you are so willing to help me out. You know how excited I am for the little squirt to evolve and I really appreciate it." He dove on to his towel. A day in the life of Mike couldn't be completely without humiliation, so the powers that be made sure to have the wind pick up at that exact moment to push the front of his towel out of the way so he got a face full of sand. The boy laid there in silence, only letting out an angry sigh moments later when he realized he had to breathe. He pushed himself up and wiped as much sand off as he could, dreading the next ten showers he'd no doubt spend fishing out the last bit of sand from his ears.

The boy swore under his breath. He should have seen a switch coming, though he didn't exactly expect it either. Kilik ran a few things through his mind, then clenched his fist with a smirk. As long as he played things right, things should turn out in his favor. "Here we go, Weezing! You'll have to listen very closely to what I'm going to tell you, understood?" He then heard Kasiya call for a Heat Wave. Shoot! Uh, let's see... he bit his lip, thick smoke because of my two Smokescreens have provided great cover. I know that if it hits, Weezing's a goner. He's not smart enough to dodge it on his own. Dammit! He slammed his eyes shut and thought of nothing but the battle and Weezing. The boy let out a gasp as he caught a glimpse of the world from way above the ground. Falling to a knee, Kilik opened his eyes, panting.

"Stay put!" he snapped. Normally, wouldn't Master tell him to move somewhere when he wanted to dodge the attack? Nevertheless, Weezing did stay in place. He felt heat blast up on either side of him. Acid sweat trickled down his face. Whoo, the heat was certainly on! "Okay, Weezing! Use Sludge one more time!" Kilik punched forward. He knew exactly what he wanted to do now. The gaseous Pokemon floated a little bit lower to the ground and began to gag loudly. He felt that this was going to be a good one. Weezing slammed his eyes shut and expelled a large purple glob at the Arcanine, as well as shooting out a few spare blobs out of his holes, similar to someone who farted because they sneezed to hard.

That had to do it! He looked up at the spazzing Pelipper - lightning crackled all around the bird's body, a tell-tell symbol that he had been Paralyzed. It was going to be easy finishing off the Pokemon. When the bird got within range, Cable let loose the most powerful Thundershock he could muster. The leader Pelipper cried out in pain and scrambled to get back up. He called out to the other Pelipper and the Wingull that was still hanging around and the three birds flew away. Elekid looked up at the sky as they went away, thinking how proud Kilik would be had he seen it! The plug dashed off to find his trainer, knowing exactly where he was.

Repelled by the Donphan's brute force, Daemyn then had a very hard time of staying clear from the spinning wheel that was splurting sand and dirty everywhere (much to M.A.'s dismay). Somehow... That round shape seemed very familiar, Daemyn mused, jumping to the side deftly in the nick of time. But nah, Tora was a bowling ball, not an out-of-control boulder.

Whatever it was, it wasn't getting the best of him! Fangs gleaming, he suddenly felt a warm, ticklish sensation in his jaws, and deciding to act upon it, he sped forward, craftily leading the Donphan to hit a rather large, protruding boulder. Said rock shattered (M.A. made a mental note to teach Tora not to run into buildings, it'd be rather troublesome), much to Daemyn's consternation and warranted concern, but at least it stopped that fat lard long enough for him to launch his attack. An alien sensation surged through him, and he bit down hard on the hard skin of the Armor Pokemon, electricity suddenly enveloping said opponent.

M.A. was rather astonished; she didn't know Daemyn was capable of that. Wordlessly she turned to Sae, who shrugged an "I don't know either" message. Nevertheless the electricity didn't seem to effect Tora, who only snorted from the tickling that hit her belly. That all you got? she taunted, smirking with her giant tusks.

"It would appear that Tora has evolved," a cool, familiar voice said to M.A's far right, and the girl turned accordingly. "Ah! Crenu," she said simply with a slight smile.

Daemyn's ears perked up. Wait. What? That hulking fat thing was Tora? She got that strong and big?! The canine glared at the Donphan, but could not deny the latent power that lied under all that bulk. Not fair, Daemyn thought furiously. How could she go and get stronger than him? No, he wouldn't allow that! He would not lose to that glutton, he snarled, a bright light shining first through his eyes than emanating from his whole body.

When the glowing ended, a newly evolved Houndoom stood at the scene, pinning down Tora with his elongated, more muscular limbs. The Donphan looked up at him sheepishly -- so she lost this round after all, darn. In his victory, to declare his dominance, the roguish Houndoom thrust his head in the air and howled, arrogant as you please.

"It appears Daemyn did too," M.A. said, bemused. Shame, she wouldn't be able to carry him like that... Ah, that really was a shame, he didn't have his baby fat anymore.

"I see your game," the child laughed, an unnatural sound. His abysses stared straight into Mai's, an indescribable flicker lashing out like a thorned whip. With impish speed, the child planted himself on the bench opposite of Leo, beside Mai. "Sorry, miss, I seemed to have mistaken you for someone," he announced loudly, crossing his arms and closing his eyes as if in a public confession. In a moment, though, those pits snapped open and he was suddenly at Mai's ears: "Your eyes might be another color, but they're still the same!" he hissed gleefully, a sweet smile twisting his lips. "Cold." Said twisted lips pecked the woman on the cheek as light as a fairy might, and with that he spun away again towards his bear.

Leaving Mai to her assumed 'customer,' the child tapped the bear on his paw; the bear froze at his touch. "Pick me up, you fat lumbering thing," the kid demanded sharply, and so the Ursaring did so gingerly. "Git," he commanded, and the fierce-looking bear sulked off.

The child looked behind him just slightly enough so he could catch a glimpse of the woman at the edge of his eyesight. A huge, oddly dark smirk reflected the sunlight. "You won't leave me this time, will you?" he mouthed clandestinely, cupping a hand on one side of his face as to block Leo's intrusive stare.

"Sir!" he barked, sitting down in his hotel room with a laptop. "This is Mazarin, reporting. So far, I've yet to come into contact with 'Kyoka'." He was not only speaking to a camera, but also typing up a report with such swift movements that his tic-tacs on the keyboard were almost dead silent. "Nobody has yet impeded my progress and I have been able to get a feel for those who associate with the target. Any orders?" Mazarin laughed before quickly adding on 'Sir'.

"You're far behind your work, Maz," said a garbled voice over the speakers of the laptop. On the screen, a man with slicked back, deep blond hair and sunglasses was speaking. Lines of static streamed across the picture and it occasionally warped to the left. "The other mercenaries have found their targets and already returned. Perhaps you're not what we need. You are easily replaced."

"Sir!" Mazarin gulped. His Bannete popped out of it's Pokeball and hovered over his shoulder, looking down at the screen. "You know how much T.E.A.M means to me. I...I'll try harder! I'll confront the target and report back with erm...a report...posthaste!" He gulped again and slammed the screen shut, clenching his fist on the lid of his laptop. "Do you think Kilik would know anything about 'Kyoka'?" he asked Bannete. The Ghost-type let out a very muffled laugh - it was impossible to understand him because of his zipped up mouth - and faded into nothingness before poking his head out of one of the pillows.

"You're right. Why would he know?" Mazarin laughed, falling onto his back in the bed, "But I'm certain he's here. They say he uses a lot of Fire-types. So if we find someone using Fire-types..." he sat up suddenly and clapped his hands together. "It's obviously 'Kyoka'! Let's go, Bannete, dahahahaha!" Swiftly, the boy ran out of the room, slamming the door loudly behind him, practically skipping down the hall.

Poochyena droned the robotic voice of the Pokedex. It savagely threatens foes with bared fangs. It chases after fleeing targets tenaciously. It turns tail and runs, however, if the foe strikes back.

"Sounds like a real go-getter." Sasha said with a half-hearted punch to the air. Honestly it sounded a bit wimpy, but then again, who was she to judge. Not every Pokemo was from the same mold, and just like people two Pokemon of the same species could be completely different. "And it's so cute too!" Sasha swooned, she loved dogs. The girl waited for a moment where the two puppies were through tussling before jumping in herself, displaying her usual wild antics. "Rolf sounds good!" she shouted back as she fought against the surprised Pokemon. Sasha grabbed the pooch and wrestled it to the ground, rubbing it's cute fuzzy belly. She had an Arcanine back home she used to play with as a kid so this little runt was child's play. "Yes you boo boo cutie bish a boo boo!" Why people suddenly became drooling neanderthals whenever they played with a dog was beyond her, but whatever. Maybe it was genetic. "Who's a little cutie with sweet meats and if I squeeze you your little sweet meats will come out!"

"Oh, what's in the egg," Kirsa asked nonchalantly. "Do you know?"

"An Azurill," replied Sasha, hey eyes still fixed on the newly named Rolf. "It's probably gonna hatch soon, it's been spazzing since I got it." She looked over just in case it decided to hatch right then and there. No luck. "D'aww."

As Crenu got closer he decided to plant himself in a good stop only a few feet away from M.A. and the battle scene of her pokemon. He watched carefully as he was intrigued to see the battle potential of her new Donphan, only to have his sights change to an oddly surging Daemyn. As he bit down into Tora's hide and released an electrical surge, Crenu found himself with the same questioning look that had come over him when Ariados had pulled off some odd shadow technique. He gave a quick glance to M.A. and her friend for a reaction, and was surprised to find that the two appeared to be as out of the loop as he was. New pokemon from this or any other region were sure to have attacks he didn't recognize, like Karri's Magical Leaf, but he was certain eh knew all of the attacks for the pokemon of his own region. It would seem that the ever changing creatures that were pokemon always had a few surprises to be uncovered, a prospect that made Crenu grin. Before he could delve any deeper into his thoughts, he noticed a glowing Daemyn become a big strong Houndoom right before his eyes. The magnificent beast stood tall with his new found might and pinned Tora with ease, magnificent. "Everyone's evolving today it seems. Congrats, I suppose." With that the thought entered his mind that they were indeed growing up. Not only her pokemon but everyone's pokemon, every ones he'd met so far had probably gotten stronger and would continue to do so. M.A. now had two power houses in her team, and no telling when the little cotton ball would evolve. Meanwhile he had an Ariados that may have already peaked, a Poliwhirl that he wasn't sure had really grown a backbone, a Hitmonlee that resented him, and an unevolved Larvitar. If he wasn't careful, he was going to fall behind.

"WHEW! This thing is HOT!" Blythe complained as she shed her Azumarill costume. After long hours of handing out many more balloons, Blythe had decided to get out of the sweatshop and stroll around the festival. She now adorned her 'normal' outfit, which was probably a little far from 'normal'. After tying the large bow on her back, and the two little ribbons in her hair, she swung open the Pokemon Center bathroom door and happily strolled outside (pink balloon in hand of course~).

The salty breeze wafted all around Blythe, and she took a huge whiff. "Ah, that's the stuff. I haven't smelled that in a looong while... besides earlier." Blythe walked onward in her almost-dancing stride and hummed a cheerful tune. The little Snorunt on her head hummed in tune, and the jingly bells on her Drifloon (seemingly) followed suit.

"Hey Mimi, do you see anyone from earlier? In that big crowd? It'd be nice to make some more friends!" Mireille obediently observed the surrounding area, but didn't recognize anyone specifically, and so shook her head no. "Aww, that's awright. We can just look around at some stands.. Oh, looks like Ruru already found one!" Blythe skipped over to the plushie stand Haruka had wandered to.

"AWWWHH HOW CUTE~" Blythe cheered, attentively inspecting every plushie. Haruka picked up a Magikarp plushie and started to float away. Without even turning around, Blythe grabbed onto his legs -- they are legs right? "Noo you don't."

"Oh, it's quite alright. These are free for the festival goers. Just.. one per person. Sorry!" The stand-lady told Blythe, bowing in apology.

"Haha, it's fine! I'll just put this one back.." She freed the plushie from Haruka's hands(?) and put it back in it's spot. She looked over the stand again, Haruka still in hand, and noticed a rejected looking white-and-blue seagull-blob of a plushie. "Aww, that's cute! what is it?" The stand-lady gave Blythe a funny kind of look, but replied that it was a.. a... 'Wingygull'? Oh well, it was adorable. "I'll take it! Thank yooou~" Blythe scooped up the 'Wingygull' and gave it to the complaining Haruka. And lo, Blythe continued chasing the jingly Drifloon wandering the stands.

Luffy couldn't help but feel a bit of satisfaction as his blows landed on the Combusken, that quickly left his mind as suddenly flames were shooting at him. Fire was bad! Fire could burn hat and he defiantly did not want that! He let out an indigent squawk that might have been a sort of 'Hey!' as he quickly backed off of the fire chicken. Hat was safe but Luffy was none to happy still, in his escape his tail had been caught in the flames and it was hurting! In fact to show that it was hurting he jumped around holding his tail close to him whining the whole time about it.

Robin was happy that Luffy had avoided the attack, mostly, but still he didn't need to dance around like that. He usually was serious, as he could be anyway, in battles. Maybe since this was a training match he was goofing off a bit? Either way Robin couldn't help but sigh and slap her forehead with the palm of her hand, maybe that would make Luffy stop. She looked up again and saw that he was still dancing. "Oi Luffy knock it off! Just because this is a training battle doesn't mean you get to goof off a bit!"

Well that snapped the little Aipom out of it, sorta. Because just then he leapt out towards the fire chicken his arms and tail stretched out into a vicious Tickle attack! The grin on his face showed that Combusken would have a hard time avoiding THIS technique!

For the first few minutes of the car ride, Jun's mood was as sour as a Warhead candy, but at least this time he took the extra effort to find the real headlights and turn them on. He was a crazy driver and all that, but he did have good reflexes. However, after the first wild swerve he made, he heard a quiet groan in the back. Without mentioning a word of it, from then and there on, his driving became as smooth as a baby's back. It irritated him to drive this slow (a.k.a., normal people speed), but ah well. Couldn't be helped.

After a round of his favorite new singles seeping through the radio, Jun felt into a considerably better mood. "But all of the boys and all of the girls, are begging to if you seek Amy," he sang, far from self-conscious and relishing in the subliminal messaging of the lyrics [a/n - try reading it aloud]. He didn't have a god-awful voice, but it sure wasn't anything special. Jun didn't give a Raticate's a** what people thought of him, though, at least not most of the time. "Aren't you glad you're being escorted home?" Jun asked cheekily through the fencing between the front seats and the passenger seats, although quickly turned his attention back to the road, where a random Pokemon had just popped up. He avoided it neatly.

Meanwhile Ronnie was adding her own flourishes to Aidan's bike, which now looked nearly good as new -- just needed a new paint job. Humming as she often did, she added a flourish with fancy little twists in the frame and a rose protruding on the bike's neck. How pretty.

Soon, they were back in town, and Jun rolled quietly to the PokeCenter. I was pitch black everywhere, except for the always-on lights of the Pokemon hospital. He shot the engine, turned off that obnoxious radio of his, and stepped out, stretching a little. What a night. He even picked up a guy along the way, he thought, smirking wolfishly into the night.

Jun unlocked the back doors, and once again taking on a demeanor that was a little unlike him, he once again swooped Aidan up in his arms (with a little grunt -- the guy wasn't that light) without asking for permission and walked into the PokeCenter, not letting any measure of squirming get to him. "Let's go, princess." An observer might note that Jun seemed to be enjoying this behind those black-rimmed spectacles of his.

"Nurse Joy?" he called, once again dumping the guy onto the couch unceremoniously, suddenly switching back to his usual feminine self. He crossed his arms, leaning to one side. "Nurse Joooooy," he whined into the dark. "I have a deliverrryyyyy!" He wasn't considerate enough to think of the kids who were sleeping.

Ronnie, meanwhile, rolled Aidan's brand new bike in. Although it needed tires and some polish, it sure looked like a little lady's Parisian ride.

"Ah... Thanks," M.A. said, not sure if she warranted this congratulations. It was all Daemyn, after all. With a 'come-here' motion of her hands and a broad, warm smile, both of the larger Pokemon came to her. Daemyn was smart enough to realize that rushing his trainer was no longer possible and so trotted mildly to his trainer, but Tora didn't have that brain capacity. Sae attempted to yank his sister out of the way, but it was too late. The charging wrecking ball slammed right into M.A.'s lower abdomen, snapping the picnic table's bench and sending the girl flipping over the table none-too gracefully.

"Tora!" Sae yelled, jumping over the table to tend to his sister. She looked a bit dazed, half way between the other side's bench and the ground, but was still smiling -- which would have been reassuring if it wasn't M.A., who was always smiling anyways. Daemyn, furious, snapped his jaws angrily at the elephant, who sulked backwards in remorse.

"This seems to happen to me too much," M.A. sighed. "Tora girl, you're a little too much for me now," the brunette added, lifting herself up with her brother's help and rubbing her ribs a bit woefully. There'd be some bruises, but hopefully that'd be the worst of it. She was lucky when it came to these things. Tora, meanwhile, trumpeted a sincere apology, and the elephant really did look very guilty. "It's okay. Just remember that you're pretty strong!"

Tora blinked. She hadn't felt like she was using any power at all, just her typical jog. Oh dear, things were so fragile. Especially M.A. She should eat more, more like Tora did, then maybe she wouldn't break so much. Nevertheless, Tora thought, she'd have to be more careful.

"Sorry about that!" M.A. grinned at Crenu, though she was still a bit pale. "How has the beach party been treating you?" Saebum smiled uneasily at the new trainer, still worried about his sister even though she didn't seem to worried about herself. Didn't look like she had been taking her iron pills lately.

When Daemyn came to M.A.'s side, he snarled at Tora to keep back, then turning said snarl towards Crenu. The newly-evolved canine didn't seem to have cooled down at all. Though he didn't like Saebum, M.A. seemed to be sad when he was hostile towards him, so Daemyn turned a blind eye to his girl's brother.

Okay, that totally should have worked, Kasiya thought, though she didn't show any outward signs of disappointment. "Be on your toes, Hiro, I know you can do it." The Arcanine let out a mighty bark and nodded, looking up instinctively as he heard the opponent call for a Sludge. He may not have been at one-hundred percent but he was still tough, and he was determined to give his all for the girl. The Arcanine's ears twitched and he took a step back as the glob of purple goo slammed into the sand where he was just standing. Kasiya grinned at this; perhaps the smoky veil covering the battlefield was interfering with Weezing's ability to aim as well. "You know what to do now, Hiro!" she said, nodding. The Arcanine smirked (as best a canine can) and raised his nose to the air, and all at once he could see everything in scent. Different colours represented different things, and almost immediately he was alerted to the scent trail of the sludge that Weezing had just launched, which fittingly enough, was a murky purple colour. That same colour stretched up to where Weezing was in the clouds, and now the Arcanine knew exactly where his target was. A menacing growl escaped the canine's throat - it seemed he was not about to back down, even for a second.

The only thing that was more unsettling than the kid himself was the way he commanded that Ursaring. Mai remained speechless the entire time the kid was anywhere near her, his every word, mannerism and action both frightening and intriguing her even more. She could only relax after he backed off though she could do nothing to silence the strange looks and comments that were going through the nearby spectators.

"What was all that about?" Leo asked, moving a little closer to Mai now that the strange kid was gone. "Did he call you... 'mom'?" While he wasn't laughing per se, it was very obvious that he was close to it.

"Shut up," Mai snarled, her Cammy persona gone in a split second. She took a deep breath and calmed herself, folding up her sunglasses and sipping them into her mesh bag. "I don't know what that's about, but I can't have some random kid blowing our cover." She spoke in a hushed voice, and it was kind of obvious that she was trying to pretend that the boy wasn't staring at her from afar. "It's just a case of mistaken identity. I guess I look like his mother or something..." she shrugged, and folded her arms, turning back to watch the battle all though it no longer interested her.

Flannery only chuckled a bit at Mike's rambling about Napalm, but she couldn't help but think that someday he would be more on par with the fiery tortoise. He'd come a long way already. She tilted her head to the side when the wind, sand and blanket decided to turn on him. Mike seemed to have a knack for bad luck like that and she inched closer to him, first handing him a bottle of water from her canvas bag in order to rinse his mouth out, then offering a hand to help him clean off the sand. "Think of it as a souvenir of the beach," she said lightly, running her hands over his shoulders, the sand now at the back of her mind. He felt very good to the touch and she inched even closer so that she was mostly behind him, resting her head on his shoulder with one knee pressing into his lower back. "So what now?" she asked, closing her eyes. "It's starting to get kinda late. Should we go grab some dinner or what? And are you, we, uh, going to the seminar... thing?"

The look on Luffy's face was enough to freak Combusken out and she took a defensive step back, though it had amused her to see him dancing around like that. She raised up her arms as he came at her, though she was surprised to see that he wasn't actually... hurting her. Though not exactly ticklish, Combusken found the gesture to be uncomfortable and off-putting, but she grit her teeth and bared it. Before Luffy was finished and before Jaeshan could utter an attack she lashed out swiftly with her claws for a Scratch attack.

Jaeshan sighed and shook his head, wishing that Combusken would calm down during battle. She had a tendency to let her temper get the better of her and it almost always left an opening for her opponent to strike back, if not evade her reckless attacks completely.

Riza had long since finished studying her Pokemon's moves, both current and future, as well as a handy selection of TMs that could be useful in the future. She'd whipped out her Blackberry and typed up a small memo as well so that way she wouldn't forget. She had an inkling, however, that she wouldn't be able to afford a TM for a long time yet. "Oh well, it's only natural that we'd have to work for things like that," she mumbled idly, patting Ralts on the head. The psychic had also long since finished building her sand castle, though upon completion she'd tried to teleport on top of it, and even though she wasn't very heavy, it had collapsed under her weight. Riza's eyes were closed and for now she was just content to enjoy the rest of her day. That is, until a very loud growling woke her from her near-slumber.

"Ralts, was that you...?" she asked incredulously, looking at the small Pokemon. Ralts just giggled and nodded, and Riza sighed. "I guess it is getting to be about supper time... let's go grab us some grub, eh?" For now she put the Pokemon back in her Pokeball and gathered her things before heading towards the pokecenter. She didn't have a lot of money so she couldn't afford to really be buying food from one of those stalls or carts so she'd settle for crappy pokecenter food for now. Her long legs easily ate up the distance between where she was and where she wanted to be and very soon she arrived at the increasingly crowded building. Luckily Ralts and Sneasel weren't in dire need of treatment so she skipped that long line and instead got herself some dinner, as well as food for her two Pokemon. She wasn't sure how picky they would be about it so she piled extra portions of human food onto her place in case a need to share would arise.

Riza still felt the need to be outside though, so she carried her tray out the doors and made her way to the picnic table, where she spotted a familiar girl with long blonde hair sitting with a little blue Pokemon as well as one that looked like a walking vegetable. She knew she'd seen her earlier but for the life of her couldn't remember her name. Deciding to suck it up she marched over to the smaller girl and sat down next to her. "Uh, hi," she said, spreading out the food a little before releasing Ralts and Sneasel, who looked very energetic and ready to go. Both dug into their shares of food without so much as a word, and Riza just smiled at them before looking back at the girl. "Um I'm sorry but I don't really remember your name... so let's start over. I'm Riza, and that's Sneasel and Ralts. How 'bout you?" With that being done she unwrapped her sandwich and sniffed at it before taking a nibble. 'Yeah, I think this is passable,' she thought, taking a bite.

Katie's pace as she walked was a quick one, though she wasn't going too fast to enjoy the sights of her hometown. She'd be leaving it for good this time and she wanted to remember it just as it was. It wasn't that Katie was dreading this, in fact it was just the opposite. She'd been dying to leave home since graduation and now she'd finally been granted permission from her mother. With a fierce determination Katie made a fist and smirked as she walked. She'd promised Lena she wouldn't let her down, and she had no intentions of doing so, either. Katie approached the northern exit of Jubilife city and her smile grew wider. Once she was out of town, her first goal was to capture another Pokemon. After all, battles were easier when you had more Pokemon, that was one of the first things she'd been taught at the Trainer School.

Katie was no less than five paces from actually leaving town when she heard someone call out her name. Katie spun around, her dress fanning out magnificently around her as she did so, and she saw a boy running after her. "Harrison?" she inquired as he drew nearer.

"Katie!" he repeated hoarsely, stooping over to catch his breath. Harrison was a little bit younger than Katie, and had graduated in the class after she did. She had thought by now that he'd have already left on his journey but perhaps he was in the same boat she was. "I couldn't let you go without saying goodbye."

"I see," came Katie's dry response, though in truth, she was fond of Harrison. He was short for his age, like she was, and he had a mop of constantly messy blonde hair, and he was often seen pushing it out of his eyes, which were hidden away by thick rimmed glasses. He wore a navy sweater vest over a lighter blue collared shirt, and dark trousers. Not very fashionable in Katie's eyes, but at least he was a nice boy. "Well, goodbye then," she said, once again turning on a heel to continue on.

"No, wait," he said, having regained his breath. "I was hoping to ask you a favor. I wanted to start my journey today too but I don't think we're strong enough."

"You and your Abra? You guys are plenty strong," she scoffed, once again having stopped in her tracks. However, an impish grin formed on her face and she looked at him again. "Though I'd be willing to have a battle with you. You know, if you're not scared to."

Crenu saw Tora bounding towards her trainer, certain that she should stop before crashing into M.A. Surely she had enough sense to know she couldn't do that anymore right? But that was not the case apparently as Tora crashed into M.A. sending her over the broken table. He saw that she still smiled even after that, quite admirable really. The Houndoom seemed to be in control however, so he guess they balanced each other out. He wasn't sure what the apology was for, but that didn't matter much. "Alright I suppose. To many people for my liking, but it is to be expected." He said as he got a little closer to see if M.A. really was alright. He was no doctor, but he knew a thing or two about treating injuries. But before he could get to close, he noticed Daemyn snarling at him. He loved those protective instincts and the scary look that he now portrayed. Crenu turned to face him and grinned, taking up a somewhat ready stance. "Heh, you've made some good eyes pooch." He said with a taunting tone, not really sure why he was apparently challenging a Houndoom. Without even thinking about it, his hand was already on his pokeball.

"It's a colorful crowd," M.A. mused, perfectly serene as opposed to the fangs bared at her side. Daemyn's evolution had gave him a huge boost of energy which had not be wholly subdued by the wrestling he had with Tora. Instead, the left over energy seemed to fuel his irrational anger. Usually he was apathetic and disinterested, at best, but the fact that M.A. was just mauled and that he was getting talked down to right now was enough to put him on edge. Plus, his adrenaline was pumping wildly through his veins, and it was almost painful not to act upon it.

"Shh, Daemyn," she said, patting his tense head. No more ears to fondle, she thought with a pout. Another apologetic glance at Crenu for her Pokemon's behavior. Sae noted that her touch was probably the only thing keeping Daemyn back; he saw how his paws scraped the ground so anxiously. After all this time, the Houndoom was still this wild and untamed? How worrisome, that M.A. had surrounded herself by an elephant that didn't know its own strength and an easily provoked demon dog whose fire, he remembered, could set a permanently painful burn. Would he even be able to let her out of his sight in this company?

Daemyn's eyes burned into Crenu's. Pull that Pokeball, he seemed to say. Fight me. He wanted this battle very much, regardless of what came out of that ball. If he sat down and thought about it, Daemyn would realize that he didn't hate Crenu or anything, but he was just hungry for the fight. A fight that he knew his pacifist girl, as much as he loved her, would not give him unless he acted on his own impulse.

Tora, meawhile, took advantage of Daemyn's preoccupation and lumbered up to Saebum, still looking very sorry. The tall brother had hand on his own Pokeballs, weary of what might happen. Nevertheless, hearing the whimpering next to him, he patted the Donphan's head. "Don't worry, she's okay," he said. "Just don't do it again." Tora nodded, learning her lesson.

Well, at least Tora was corrigible. Daemyn, not so much.

Crenu's fingers tensed around the pokeball, his fingertips growing red from the blood gathered in them. His eyes locked on the Houndooms as a smirk came across his face, but it disappeared almost as quickly as it had arrived. His loosened his grip on his pokeball and returned his hands to his sides. "What was he doing? He hadn't come here to battle M.A.'s pokemon, especially not when the pokemon was attacking on its own. A battle with a feral Houndoom was not in his plans as all he had was an Ariados, and if he indeed was actign on his own then there was a good chance that one of their pokemon would end up seriously hurt. A wild pokemon can only be stopped by capturing or rendering it completely unable to go one, and since capture was not an option he wasn't going to risk Ariados on an opponent she'd have to soundly take down. Knowing around how strong a Houndour has to get before it evolves, his Ariados probably didn't stand a chance anyway. "I don't believe we've met." Crenu said to M.A.'s companion, so sudden and calm as if he had not just been involved in a tense moment with Daemyn. Crenu was looking at the tall boy now, but he kept Daemyn within the corner of his eye in case he tried to pull something.

Harrison pondered Katie's challenge for a moment, and nodded. "You know that doesn't sound like a bad idea. That way I can also be sure you're ready to go off on your own." He didn't sound overly sure of himself but at least he was trying. He took a Pokeball out of his pocket and held it up. "I'm ready when you are," he said, releasing the small, perpetually-sleeping Pokemon from its confinement. The Abra was sitting perfectly still, his tail twitching now and then, though it was impossible to tell if he was actually awake or asleep.

Katie rolled her eyes at Harrison's attempt to rattle her and she shook her head. "Nice try, but talking smack don't work on me. Okay Genki, it's time for action!" The Pokeball was withdrawn from a small, concealed pocket on the waistline of her dress (another one of her mother's fabulous creations, as the Pokeballs she stored within were cleverly hidden by the folds of fabric) and thrown forward, and a small, orange chimp with a flaming tail appeared in front of Katie, hopping from foot too foot. The Chimchar let out an excited cry as he realized he were about to have a battle, and his flame burned even more intensely than it originally had. "Go get 'em, Genki! Scratch attack, go!"

And just like that the chimp was off, rushing towards the abra with the intent to dish out some hurt, even though he did recognize the psychic - after all their trainers were friends, but Katie had taught him that even if you were battling your friends, you should still give it your all.

"Abra, teleport," Harrison shouted. Just as Genki was about to lay into the Abra, it vanished from the spot, reappearing in the place where Genki had first came out of his Pokeball.

"Hey, that's cheating," Katie grumbled, flipping an orange ponytail behind her head and crossing her arms. She knew it wasn't, but it still seemed to be unfair. "I know how to stop that though. Genki, taunt!"
