Nadya was just finishing hanging up laundry when she saw - in her mind - their guests arriving. She had been expecting them for several days now, though she had known for years that they would be coming eventually. She didn't hurry her pace, but calmly lay the empty basket upsidedown beneath the tree to which was tied one end of the laundry line before heading up in the direction of the house.

After all, they were still some distance away.

By the time they had come into sight of the plantation Yue was perhaps a bit cranky, though he was doing well in hiding the fact that Kara would have been proud. Knowing how cranky Yue tended to get, though that was to be expected of a man who flourished in the cold and ice of winter. There were several times he had considered in making ice, however the desert was dry, there was very little water in the air to freeze. Perhaps enough to give him a bit of frost but he would regret it later and he knew it.

Personally he wanted to be at this place where plants could grow, where there was enough water in the air to give him a frostbite, though.. Yue didn't suffer from frostbite.

Unknown to him or anyone for that matter there was someone else following behind them. She was unaffected by the heat, but then again she really didn't notice the cold neither. Her clothes were light and summery that they suited her just fine in the desert as they would any normal time. Perhaps though, she thought that sand was very impractical for it got into everywhere and was making her lovely skirt all dusty.

The heat was bad, and Triton didn't know which was worse the heat or the sand. His ears twitched excessively by now from the sand it was trying to get out and the heat was just as bad even with the clothes. Especially is tail... the fur wasn't so pleasent about now.

He knew the desert was bad, but this was far worse and he was grateful to up keep his training only so he could have more energy. Though from the looks of it, he would need to train more. It annoyed him that Donovan seemed fine.

Sometime between then and now Donovan had donned from his bag a wide triangle rice hat normally used when farmers were harvesting from the rice fields. For his head of course, black hair and the sun just did not mix and besides it provided him with good shade. He kept his breathing at an even pace, thinking about everything but the fact that he had been walking in a desert with sand in his shoes. He had also stopped talking some part way through, not because he didn't like the company (tolerable they were) but to conserve energy.

Elrohir Aldrich

Elrohir's keen elvish eyes spotted individual figures walking around the plantation, then turned to take in the sight of the house - the nearest structure to the weary travelers. He hadn't been out this way since first going to live in the city - nearly two decades ago by now. It had changed greatly in the time of his absence, and he found himself wondering just how much.

Nearly there, he reminded himself, the sun shining directly in his eyes, and continued his slow trudging.

Nadya put one slim hand to her brow to shade it from the noonday sun and gazed out into the desert. Her physical eyes now showed her what she had seen in her mind: Elrohir, Triton, and two others - though she knew there was a third that followed, out of sight.

Gion, she thought, the faint whisper of imagination spreading from her mind, seeking his own, they have come.

And with that, she headed around the corner of the house so that she could meet them as they arrived.

Gion was busy carving a replacement part for the winepress when he received Nadya's thought, and he set his work aside immediately, his brown eyes growing brighter as he left the building and headed towards the house.

He was shirtless - as he was most days now - and his sun-bronzed torso rippled with muscles that he hadn't had the last time he had seen any of the people he had been told were coming. He wore only a pair of billowy white pants held up by his sword belt - with which he still carried Daemon every moment of every day - the best clothes to cool in. His hair was as it had always been, kept its certain length by Nadya, who took time to cut it about once every month.

He wondered what it would be like to see his brother again. He had been told it was Elrohir who had been the one to give Elnara her ultimatum: return to Gaia, you are not wanted here.

Still, he would wait and see what happened before allowing himself to grow upset. He had grown patient in his time away.

But he couldn't help but ask Daemon if he had any feelings about what might happen in the next few minutes.

Well....

Daemon replied wrly for he had heard from Nadya who exactly it was that was dropping by for a visit, even he himself had a few visions, but then again most of the group had a connection to him. So it mattered within his soul these people who were coming.

It hasn't really sunk in yet... I don't know your brother all tha well.... I don't even know these men who are suppose to be my grandsons... and I haven't seen Donovan since he was five. I wonder if he has taken after his father or his mother.

Gion chuckled inwardly and moved swiftly to stand with Nadya and watch as the group approached.

Well, I suppose this is going to be an interesting moment for all of us, he thought half cheerfully, half warily as he reached Nadya and took his place beside her.

Nadya smiled and put one slender hand on Gion's coppered shoulder, right up by his neck, and with her thumb she absently twirled around a lock of his raven hair. It had become a natural action by this time, and she was far too preoccupied with other things to think of what the others might think - Elrohir in particular. For by now, they were very close - well within seeing range, even for the (comparatively) shortsighted humans.

"Welcome back," she smiled warmly, her soft brown eyes moving slowly over the ragged group. "It has been a long time."

Twelve years in fact, though she admittedly didn't know whether or not they knew exactly how long it had been.

Yue tilted his head a bit looking upon Gion, after all it had only been mere months for him, so the changes with the former Gion in his mind was startingly at best.

"Gion," Yue nodded slowly.

Time had been good to him, travelling more so.

Elrohir was startled when he saw the way Nadya and Gion were standing together, but he wisely kept his mouth shut about it.

"Nadya," he nodded politely. "It has been a long time."

After all, for him it had been eighteen years.

"I trust that you are doing well," he continued. "You remember Triton of course ... and this is Yue and Donovan." He nodded at each as he introduced them.

"Very," Triton replied back, "At least to you it has been," he added with a weary chuckle, "But everyone seems to have changed alot."

He smiled widely at the both of them, whether or not the Neko understood what was happening by having those two stand close to eachother was unknown. He probably didn't since it was Triton, and if he did he would be happy for the both of them.

Donovan bowed slightly to Gion and Nadya as he was introduced, ignoring the dust that had grown on his once speckless silks. Though he eyed the sword he noticed with Gion like it would bite him. He knew a Mizu sword when he saw one, and he knew what that meant. This was not the way he wanted to meet his future father-in-law thank you very much.
