Nebride watched as Gren fought many of the daemons. "Good girl. Keep on going." Nebride's magicked arrows flew around impaling daemons and blowing them to pieces. "God--I love those," she sighed with a grin.
Suddenly she caught sight of Elazul. He was fighting off daemons while trying to protect the boy, Togan. "Damn it, why is that boy here? Has he no common sense?" Nebride migrated towards the two.
"Hey! Step away from the boy and I promise I'll make this quick and painless," Nebride said suddenly.
The daemons stopped and grinned at her. "We smelt you coming elf. Your stench is overwhelming."
Nebride raised an eyebrow. "My stench? You're the ones who smell like you haven't bathed in years. Why don't you come and fight me if you're so anxious?"
Just then five daemons jumped at her. Nebride ducked into a ball to the ground. Well--guess there's no stopping it now. She closed her eyes and chuckled.
From within herself she could feel the power stirring. As she rose up the daemons flew back. A bright light errupted from Nebride's body and incinerated the five daemons in a blink of an eye. Her feet gently touched the ground as she looked around with red tinted eyes.
"Not so fast my friend. You're not going anywhere." With a flick of her wrist a lightening bolt flew from her hand and hit the last remaining daemon in the head, exploding it. "Well that was easier than I expected."
Nebride turned to face the two men and Gren came up behind them with her mouth hanging slightly open. "Now, I would appreciate it if you didn't tell anyone about this. I like to keep what I am a secret. At least until I am done with my quest." Her eyes turned back to their normal, dark color. "If you can't keep quiet--well I can help with that." Nebride smiled sweetly at them as she turned and headed back towards the camp.

gren:
for some reason i felt as if i could trust her. i followed her back to camp and caught up to her pretty quickly. i sped up and stopped in front of her. "and i'd appreciate it if you kept what i am a secret as well" i said with a slight smirk on my face.

Nebride looked at Gren with surprise. "You're actually still going to associate with me? Very well---I will keep your secret." She walked quietly with Gren by her side. "It is refreshing to have someone not afraid of me because of what I am."
She glanced over at Gren. "So, why exactly are you here?"

was all he could think of saying
THAT WAS NOT HUMAN.
he had heard of mages and magic before. most educated ppl knew a little magic.
but that wasn't just any magic.
the dark shadow like beams that erupted from her killed the daemons almost instantly.
that was shadow magic. and only shadow elves could use it.
((^^ to Nebride shadow magic appears light or holy. but however to others it appears dark and scary. thats why there feared))
now he knew why the witch hunters told us to fear these things. at any moment she could kill me. how can i trust someone like that.
then he heard daemons screaming and noticed that Elazul was still tearing the remaining daemons to shreds.
"by the light of harmony what are u people?!"
they all turned to look at him.
"n-no wonder were being followed by imperial troops we've hired a bunch of heretic monsters."

Nebride stiffened when she heard Togan's words. Slowly she turned around to face him. "We are not monsters. We are just different from you and your people. You want monsters? Why don't you go and stay in the daemon's camp," Nebride snarled.
She took a step closer to Togan. Nebride could tell he was trying to be brave, but finally he took a step away from her. "Don't forget that we are here protecting you. Do you really think, if I meant to harm you, that I would have protected you this long? Do you really think I would have stopped Tamika? Would I have killed those soldiers? If I wanted all of you dead, I would not have killed these daemons. I could have led you to them and let them do the dirty work. That would save me a lot of time and energy and I could get back to my quest."

(^^ these guys dont have names. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO FIGHT HIM. HE IS FAR TO POWERFUL FOR ANY OF U BECAUSE HES A WITCH HUNTER CLERIC there as tough as they get.. P.S he wont attack u either FOR NOW.
"oh and what would that quest be. trying to convert more innocent humans to your cause"
he was wearing white chain mail and was covered in golden relics and charms.
he like many other clerics wore his wide brimmed hat that cast a shadow over his face.
holding his large halberd. decorated with enchanted scrolls and other such arcane items.
"by the light of the holy emperor, u such heretics will either burn or be executed by submission. at least should u give up ur lives for the emperor u will be granted a painless death."
he looked at the others. hmmm one was clearly human. the others clearly not.
he did not know who this boy was but to be mixing with such filth was in need of punishment. perhaps lashing about 20 should do.
((^^ he doesn't know hes part of the traitor villagers))

the words togan spoke stung. i'd like to get in his face and give him a nice long lecture but i can't do that right now. i faced the witch hunter. no matter how brave i looked, in the face of a witch hunter, all that shone in my eyes was fear. i took a step back and put up my gaurd in case he tried anything. "togan," i said without shifting my gaze. "i'd like to have a word with you later. if that is you're willing to hear my story."

Nebride looked at the witch hunter carefully. "And what cause would that be witch hunter? All I want is for my people to be left alone--nothing more." She shrugged her shoulders. "As for my quest...well that's my concern--not yours."

i causiously switched my gaze over to nebride. "what do you suggest we do." it was obvious we were in a bind and had to get out somehow. but that was beyond me.

Nebride motioned for Gren to do nothing for the moment. With a slight shake of her head Nebride turned back to the witch hunter. "What? Nothing else to say? I find it hard to believe. You witch hunters always have something to say. Especially about those that you fear."

to think he came here to see if there were any survivors of the caravan. but instead he found them and a bunch of dead body's and daemon bile
"so did u conjure these daemons to kill these innocents. let me guess they got out of control and u had to kill your little pets."
"wait a minute."
he looked at the girl. he knew she wasn't human. but he thought he had seen her before.
"ill ask u again. will u lay down your arms and face your punishment?"
he looked around he was outnumbered. he would probably be able to kill a few of them but not all. he had not slept in days. his concentration was broken.
but his presence stood strong they would never know of his weakness.
"well?"
he made sure he kept his eye on all THREE of them ((^^ hint hint))

"Me, summon daemons? You truly do not know my kind that well. Granted there are a few traitors, but they are dealt with." Nebride glanced around cautiously. "This guy is keeping our focus on him. There is something definitly not right here." She allowed the faint hid of red to enter her eyes. "Lay down my arms and take my punishment? What makes you think I will do that? I have a job to finish elsewhere, and I intend to finish it---even if it kills me."

while the witch hunter was rambling on, i quickly and silently walked over to togan. i grabbed him by the shoulders so he couldn't run away before i delivered my message. i bent in and whispered in his ear, "listen to me closely. if he attacks, i want you to get away from hear. there's a river about 50 kilometers to the north. if you can get there and cross, you'll be safe. because of his heavy armor the witch hunter won't be able to follow you. but that is only if it happens. stay put and if he does attack, run. i'll do my best to hold him off"
that being said... whispered, i straitened up to a stand and turned around to face the witch hunter again.

he saw the red in her eyes. she was telling the truth. she was no traitor. but she was a shadow elf and there kind could not be tolerated here of all places.
there kind was told after the first war that they were not to leave the forests to the south.
and yet they stayed here in the north.
"never the less. you are still scum to the emperor and therefor scum to me............and i fear nothing elf."
his steely reserve was obvious.
like all of the witch hunters they feared nothing.
if told he would stand strong while a daemon tore at him. such was his devotion to the emperor.
"when it comes down to it. you should not be here ur kind should not be here. "
"as for your quest. dieing seems to be a very likely outcome for u"
he saw Togan pick up a sword.
"boy unless u plan to walk over to me and help fight these things i would be very careful. it is not the first time i have killed a traitor so young.
