Crouched down by the large heap of linen, Maria paused. She could be rude, here, and say no, despite Ruka having been nothing but perfectly polite. The difference from Drakul was obvious and rather a relief, but at the same time Ruka inescapably, on her account of being a vampire, reminded Maria of Drakul.
"All, right. I'd have to go more than one round if I did it by myself. Thank you." Maria stood up and wandered off towards the right-side back of the room, where a small door was set in shadow.

She was very happy when she heard that she would be allowed to help. She quickly scooped up all that was left of the pile, a rather large armful, and made to follow after Maria.
((we should really get maps of the main areas where rping would take place...I'm not so much sure what the layout of the shelter is like, so that's why its a little short...^.^*))

Jackson pushed open one of the several doors on the second floor of the building, jiggling the short key a couple times to slide it out of the lock. "Here you go." He led Jelena into it, setting her bag down on the twin-sized bed. "This is pretty much how all of them look," he explained, going over to the window and opening the opague glass shutters to let in more light and sound from the streets outside. "This one has the best view, though," he said with a slight grin, twitching up one corner of his mouth to flash his teeth at her. The town square could be seen through the window below, as could, with a bit of craning of the neck, many of the other streets in Cascade.
The room itself was rather sparse although obviously well taken care of. It had been cleaned recently and the sheets on the bed looked to be fresh, if made from a plain beige and blue striped material. There was a small nightstand between the bed and the outer wall, near the window, and a chest of drawers stood opposite from the foot of the bed, a mirror above it.
"There's a shared bathroom at the end of the hall, but the only other person using it is Spooky, so you girls can fight over it to your heart's desire," Jackson added as Jelena looked around. "My room's the one directly opposite of yours, so if you need anything..." he let his voice trail off with a shrug.

Following the bar owner up to the second floor afterhaving eaten her breakfast, Jelena let him lead the way. It didn't look too bad this place, for only being taken care of by one person that is. Hopefully her time here, and work at the bar, would make her stay unsuspicious and easy. The town was small though so she had to be careful, she could imagine what kind of rumors could easily get into motion (and have been heard by all within a day or two). However, with stealth and brains you could get around most of anything. And this had to be the place, it just had to!
Smiling, Jelena nodded at Jackson as they entered the room, having paid him half her mind as he led her there if she now would have to answer him on something he said. "That's really nice of you to give me," she commented with a appreciating smile as he mentioned the view. A good view was important for casual observing, she noted to herself as she walked up to the window and looked out over the city. Most buildings were two or three stories. Good, easier for her. The fact that she was on the second floor too made it even easier to get out onto the rooftops, should she need it. A stealthy entrance and exit was always good if you needed to get... out and about during the darker hours of the day.
The young woman laughed lightly at the other's meantioning about fighting over the bathroom but knew a couple of people herself that it would apply to at home. "I'll knock," she filled in with a nod as Jackson trailed off, looking at him. "Thank you," she said again with a nod of the head that was more of a light bow than a nod. "Do you require anything of me directly? Anything you need done now or of the like?" she questioned.

"Just need to give you the key," Jackson said, handing her the small silver item. "I've got a spare, though it'll be fifteen dollars if you should lose it, to cover the cost to make a duplicate. How would you like to pay? If you've got the money on you, you can pay me now. If not,I can just take it from your paycheck... you ready to work this evening? There's usually a bit of a rush for dinner. Otherwise, you can get started tomorrow morning.

Jelena nodded as she took in the information and the key was dropped into her lifted hand. "I've got some money still on me. I make sure I never go anywhere without having a certain amount in store should I need it or go without job fora longer while," she explained. It was all about precautions and not getting stuck in unfavorable situations and places.
"And I can start today, that's fineby me," she said with a smile. Might as well let the town's people know there was an extra pair of hands down at their local bar and inn. "Any special kind of uniform I should wear or buy or should I grab whatever I see fit from my existing wardrobe?" Which wasn't really that big whichever way you looked at it because she was able to carry it around.

"What you're wearing is fine. I wouldn't wear anything too fancy since it might get dirty, but it's all up to you. Once I had a girl serve drinks in a string bikini." A brief nostalgic look flashed in Jackson's eyes. Oh, that was a nice, nice time.
He took the money for rent from Jelena and took a step backwards towards the door. "Get settled in. I'll be downstairs if you need anything." Jackson closed the door and was gone.

Jelena raised both brows and then laughed. "Well, then there certainly wasn't much cloth to get dirty," she nodded but wondered if he had heard her, seeing as he momentarily seems to get lost in memories. That girl must have been really bold and quite popular, she could imagine.
When Jackson had stepped out and walked away, Jelena had stood still and listened to his retreating steps, she turned to survey the room. Giving it a once over (just as a safety precaution, one could never be paranoid enough... as someone she knew had said), the woman nodded satisfied. It was clear.
Unpacking her stuff, Jelena left some of the more... "work" related stuff she had brought in the bag, without making it look filled, and placed it on the floor beneath the bed, a location many placed their bags during a stay that was longer than one day. Now, would she being working a bit here in her room or would she take a look around and get her bearings? Things always looked different between the day and night but...
"Hmn..." she said thoughtfully to herself.
