Steel Sterling Neko-chan32981 Saoraan Here is a tricky one... What is the name of Spock's most important family member? Hint: was once offered a seat on the federation council. Was it his half brother? I'm guessing he may mean Saibok as well, but not only was he not that important, there was some talk from Roddenberry that he may not have considered Movie 5 canonical. (So, he wasn't important to RODDENBERRY.) BTW, this question seems to have an answer that's a matter of opinion, especially since the obvious answer to just about everybody is either Spock himself or Sarek. Questions with disputable answers aren't good for this thread. Please review the first post. All right since no one seems to be getting it I will give it to you. It was not Saibok. The family member was a woman. She appeared in only one episode(to my knowledge). It was the episode "Amok Time" in which Spock undergoes the Pon Farr. Her name is T'Pao. She is a highly respected and powerfull member of the Vulcan high counsul. She is the matriarch of Spock's family. And as I said in my hint she was once offered a seat on the federation counsul and is the only person in history to ever have turned it down.

T'Pau may or may NOT be the most influential
member of the family,
depending on where in the chronology you are.
Sarek gets more and more renowned over time,
and he was respected way back when.
She IS, however,
the only member of his family to have a
musical group named after her.
(The one-hit wonder "T'Pau" did the song
"Heart and Soul".) smile
T'Pau WAS the one offered a seat on the
council, but that was the HINT, not the
actual question.
Please note that rating terms
(best/worst, least/most)
are SUBJECTIVE,
and can be argued.
The example I gave was
"which is the best captain?"
and EVERYBODY will suddenly spring
forth with a bunch of names,
Federation, Klingon, Enterprises and
other ships and other classes of
ship.....
Look at the other questions,
you'll see how we've done it so far.

No, but I'll clear this one here.
I thought it was easier.
Zephram Cochrane (First Contact).
He considered his launch of the Phoenix to require Steppenwolf's "Magic Carpet Ride", and kept playing Roy Orbison's "Ooby Dooby".
Steppenwolf's biggest hit was "Born to Be Wild", "Magic Carpet Ride"
was their second biggest hit.
Roy Orbison's biggest hit was "Pretty Woman".
("Pretty Woman, walking down the street...")
He also sang the chorus on the Travelling Wilbury's "Handle With Care."
("I'm so tired of being lonely...")
Personally, I think they cast it great.
I can easily picture that actor-as Cochrane-playing Steppenwolf.

The Dominion declared the Gamma Quadrant off-limits to the
Federation for ANY traffic whatsoever.
What was the Federation's immediate response,
and what was the Federation's long-term response to that,
regarding wormhole traffic?

Although some of us wanted to see someone pick it up at some point, like they were thinking about it.

What was the Federation's immediate response, and what was the Federation's long-term response to that, regarding wormhole traffic? Question, prepare to be assimilated. Resistance is futile. As soon as the Dominion announced this, the Federation sent the Galaxy-class USS Odyssey thru the wormhole. The Jem'hadar blew it to pieces, even destroying it as it fled with a kamikaze ramming attack. The long-term response was to go about their business as normal, as if the Dominion never declared that. (Sisko had the station beefed up and the experimental Defiant handed over, however.)
