Well, done, Dream and company... You have succesfully saved a spirit today, for the moment. And now what? He had no idea what. It wasn't his place to lead, just to protect.

Violet shrugged, sitting down on the sand.
"It hardly matters what he's doing. If eh stays under for much longer he'll drown, meaning no one has to kill him, which is a shame when you think about it. On the other hand, if he comes up for air one of us is going to get him anyway. Either way i say leave him," she explained, aparently not needing to breath as much - if at all - as a human. She sighed in an annoyed sort of way as Leila and Vanessa became friends again.

Leila could hear the annoyance in Violet's heavy sigh, and it made her feel even more ashamed. She was not accepting what she was...yet she didn't want to at the same time.
Glancing over at Vanessa, she was obviously looking at something and heard her question. It was then she remembered the man. She had suffered enough, he decided. She should just let him be...for today, anyway.
"Leave him alone," she shouted to Vanessa a bit. "There's always another day. And we can easily find him again, maybe." She stood up, brushed the sand off her rear and looked at the others.
"Shall we at least go about trying to figure out why these barriers were broken?"

Vanessa walked slowly out of the water and onto the gritty sand. "So...What now?" She said, looking bored. She sat down on the edge of the water, staring at the man.

Dream stood up, and looked at them. "Well, I suppose if we want to save anything on this hopeless planet... We should find out where, when, and why the afterlife is merged with Earth. Step one to saving the world." He shrugged. "Anyone else ever saved a world before?"

Vanessa hesitated before saying quietly. "I did..." She looked down at the sand, shyly, her foot swishing around in the water. Vanessa twirled a lock of her hair around a finger.

Leila was just about to remark she didn't think anyone here had, but stopped when Vanessa responded. Her own eyes opened in surprise. This simple human? On the other hand, Dream seemed to be a human too, but he was anything but. Maybe there was more to Vanessa than she could visibly see.

Violet shrugged, standing up to and stretching her arms and wings.
"Destroyed a few, never saved one," she replied in a bored voice. Hearing Vanessa she turned and her emerald eyes flared brightly in shock. She obviously didn't expect anything from the human girl.
"Care to explain a little further?" she promted, her voice not quite as icy as before.

"Well..." Vanessa began, quietly. "As you probably already know...Or maybe not... The world had been invaded once before by the most evil demons and the darkest angels. So, while everyone else hid in their houses, I went and helped destroy the angels and demons. The few that tried to help me ended up dying in the battle... Somehow... I stayed alive... And won." Vanessa said, very shyly. She didn't feel like she could win any battles now.

He nodded. "I was on a different planet at the time, but I heard about that and went there immediately. But I got there, and it was already over. There were a lot dead, but I remember there was one girl there who was still alive and fighting, I remember recovering her when she almost died... Wait a minute! That was you!" He stared at her, finally recognising her. "I knew I knew you from somewhere!"

"Same... I knew I recognized you from somewhere but... But I just couldn't remember when it was." Vanessa said shyly, cheeks turning a bright red color. "I just... I thought I was going to die. I could... I could feel myself being lifted up into the heavens, but then... What seemed like an angel saved me life... So that means... That means it was no angel saving my life... It was you..." Vanessa said, now comprehending what had happened a long time ago. "I just... I can't believe that I won... I mean. I've never won anything..." Vanessa said, quietly.

"Sure you have. You've got skill. You have a natural resistance, you are an air mage. Air is one of the strongest skills for one to have, in my opinion. With practice, you can do almost anything with it. I've had..." He stopped, calculating his age from Starian years into Earth years. "Well, a Starrian year is worth 25 earth years, and I'm 15 years old in Starrian years, so that makes 375... but then there's more time besides that, because I didn't just turn 15..." He paued again. "I'm pretty sure I have 398 years of experience. I think." He shrugged.
"Anyway, what I mean is with experience you can do anything with air. For example." He turned to a tree, and sent a sharp slice of air to a branch. It cut the branch, which fell down to them. He stopped it in mid-air, and carved it with sharp, solidified air. In a short amount of time, there was a short wooden sword floating in the air in front of him. He grabbed it, and gave it to Vanessa. "Knowing how to use your power gives you even more power."

Vanessa took the wooden sword in her hand, smiling.
"It'd be awesome to do stuff like that." She said. "But, it would take forever to learn something like that. And, I'm not even sure HOW I learn..." Vanessa muttered. "Like you said, you've been practicing for 300-something years... I'm not even going to be alive that long! So there's no way that I can make my powers as powerful as THAT." Vanessa said, pointing to the sword.
"I mean, all I can do is this." Vanessa held out her hand toward the water, as if pushing sometrhing that wasn't there. A burst of air flew from her hand, flying to the water. The powerful air blew back some water, leaving a little area in the ocean that was just wet sand that lay on the bottom of the sea. "That's not much." Vanessa muttered, again, putting her hand back down to her side.

"It's a good start, though. And how do you know you won't get enough practice? You can continue on as an angel. Or a demon, which isn't bad either." He nodded to Leila and Violet. "Either way is a good way to go. I can't become either, but oh well."

"Well... i mean HOW do I learn? I mean, the only things that I do now with air is what... Is what I feel. It's hard to explain, but I don't think that I can actually FEEL what I might learn..." Vanessa said. "It's wierd, I know. She said, looking to the ground.
