There's this girl in the grade ahead of me... Her name's Maggie, and nobody likes her. She plays bassoon during concert season, sax during marching season. Well last year, the saxes had this set in the closer where they were all in a line and they moved across the field. Maggie, who was on the end, lost her balance when she went pivoted to move to her next set and fell right on her butt... And that's not even the great part.
Our head BD doesn't usually notice when people fall over, he's used to it.. (We're a VERY clumsy bunch, haha) But he called Maggie out for some reason... Probably because he doesn't like her, either. :]
We laughed about that all year, she always turned bright red and left the vicinity whenever it came up. rofl

One winter concert at our mall, our crappy jazz band had a bad start and our BD had us restart. talk2hand So not cool. One time in middle school we were playing a piece which my friend, a french horn, had a solo in. My other friend(his second chair) told him not to mess up. He messed up and hit her after the piece. xd

We were at our Christmas concert and I had been listening to the chorus sing, so I was sort of rolling my flute back and forth on my legs. Well, I guess the end piece had become loose as I was doing it, so when I picked up my flute and started playing the next song, the end fell off....under my neighbors chair...and I couldn't reach it. It was horrible. I pretended to be playing, but I knew everyone had seen what had happened....except the person sitting next to me, of course, so she couldn't get the piece of my flute...oh the embarrassment...

During the biggest game of the year for our school, the trombones decided to do a fanfare in the stands. I was one chair infront, so our old section co-leader told us to duck, and I was eating popcorn... there are at least 3 videos of the fanfare, and directly below them, you can see me looking like I'm shoving popcorn down my throat because I'm ducking and eating both at once... I swear, everyone knows me as the damn white girl with the popcorn... >////<

OMG!!! I had so many of those. I'll only share my 2 most recent.
1. During marching season we were doing horns up horns down drills so the freshmen could learn them and well, the director said "Make them snappy!!!" and i was all like SNAP on the when it was called. So yeah, my mouth piece wasn't in all the way, it flung out hit me in the eye and the BD started laughing. she was all like "Leah, of all my years of teaching marching i have never seen that happen!" Dude she called me out!!! It was soooooo embarrassing!!!
2. It had just finished drizzling so the grass was all wet. I have to say my BD is an idiot!!! She made us run to our sets while the grass was wet. Well you can imagine what happened. I slipped on my a**!! My section leader was like "Leah are you okay i thought you passed out!!" That was embarrassing to. But good thing only she say that.

My most recent, well, wasnt terribly embarrassing, was at our christmas concert(i play the trumpet by the way). We were playing sleigh ride by leroy anderson, excellent and exciting by teh way. if you ever heard it, you could hear the horse thing at the end, as first chair, it was my job to do that. After our director told me how, i pretty much had it down. And could hit it without question. At the concert we were near the end, and i was about to start, and my tuning slide fell out, and it sounded like a cow who was constipated.it made me so angry, o well.

Tag day this year for marching band I was walking around with my friend Lisa. We went up to a house, no one answered then a car pulled in. The guy got out and walked up to us and the first thing he asks us is "Are you from imagration?"....We now have the best tag day story

Me being the strange person that I am, I like to take people's keys or shoes and run through the locker pods like a ninja. But on day I took a guard girls keys and she was in her fleshie and a pair of shorts, and it was right before our thanksgiving game at home, and I ran out side with her car keys.
She managed to catch up with me and jump onto my back a demanded a piggy back ride back up to the school, when she starts whispering 'I probably shoulda put a shirt on....I'm in my fleshie', and I looked over to see our rival school's band and guard buses driving by.
it was fun.

Two years ago our band was playing at a really windy place.
All of our music was flying everywhere.
My friend used a rock to keep her music on her stand
The rest of use taped our music. [The poor Originals.]
And seagulls kept on staring at us and swooping over our heads.
It was very special.
We sounded like crap. -_-

Hi... I'm Snow.
Here's my story...
Back in high school, I was in the jazz band and played the bari sax. Sometimes we had early morning practice before school started like 7:15am early.
Anyway, I was getting ready for practice and I had to get a new reed out. Well.. if you have ever played a reed instrument you know that brand new taste of a reed is quite interesting. wink
So, I'm getting my bari out and softening up the reed in my mouth in the band closet (where all the instruments are stored). I begin to walk out the closet and I say out loud... "Mmmm! I love the taste of new wood in the morning!" razz
Now... this would have been funny on it's own.. but then a male trombone player comes walking out of the closet behind me and everyone in the band room starts cracking up. Well, as most can guess... I turned bright red, so did the male. I didn't hear the end of it until like a month later. rolleyes

In Color Guard (flag gaurd if you must stare ) there are lots of emmbarrest~ment. Our Color Guard was all girls and before preforming the band would say that we got "the color guard PMS, except her (me) she's all hiped up on caffine jumpping like a god know what!" biggrin
we got the stranges outfits, the clown outfit that made us look like deflated disco balls. the worst was the one sleeve, no sleeve. I'm sure this looks cute but in the cold of night? one arm freezes off crying I felt so bad for our captain who was stuck in this outfit during trophie hand outs.
Lucky the Conducter gave her his coat heart aww...
BUT THE BEST STORY! Gose to my sister's friend Nick.
He was the lead (is their a name?) for the drum line.
They where to perform at Disney land and while in the back:
Picture a big guy holding a row of drums.
Now picture a little lizard going by...
he sees the little thing and chants ""Here... lizard~ lizard" (who remembers the Taco bell dog? xd )
While one drummer gose running off after a lizard, poor Nick had another problem.
See Micky and Mine Mouse where hitting on two of the other boy dumbers.
rofl The two boys where freaked out by this trying to hide and begging for Nick to come save them!
Don't ask me how Nick got them out there. I was to busy laughing my a** off to ask myself rofl
(Turns out Micky and Mine are girls in the costume)

well this isn't an embaressing band moment; it's an embaressing orchestra moment.
O.K. so I was at rehersal playing in this really big orchestra (like 100 kids) and I was sightreading when everyone had practiced it and in the middle of the piece I guess I was just paying attention to the notes; and the conductor turned to the violas and said "(insert my name), watch your bowings!" I looked up and totally got lost then turned bright red and everyone heard redface it may not seem embarresing but it was in front of EVERYONE and I'm in a "gifted" orchestra sweatdrop

Okay, so there was a high school foot ball game on the 14th of September, 2007. During half-time the band gets in their lovely formation for the songs we spent so much time practicing. We got into the formation we call "Havanna." At about the middle of the song this one small kid came out of no where and crashed into me, like full head-on collision! But did he fall to the ground and have his papers flying, scattered in front of him? Nooooo! And while I was scrambling to pick up my precious music, there were like 10 bass drums marching my way O_o I took one last look at my beloved music, and then made a run for it to catch up with the rest of my squad. And the worst part, this took place on the other side, I was being laughed at by the enemy!!! gonk I've never felt so humiliated -_-; And apparently, half the band hates me now, but I just have a hard time believing that =D

Today in Band, we were doing "F across the room", a dumb warm up thing that I hate. When the time for me to play the Concert F, I was texting my friend, and not paying attention. I caught it JUST IN TIME to play a note, but it didn't come out as an F. It was like ,a squelchy little wet fart sound from my French Horn. xD
Everyone laughed.
