I've been wondering... Are there some instrumental combinations which seem really common or tend to work really well? Like a drummer with a flute, for example?
Just wondering if anyone's noticed any common patterns.

It's freaky. =/

It's freaky. =/ A percussionist and a flute dating? Sweet! So it does work! Not that I happen to be a flute who likes a percussionist or anything. redface Or... maybe I am. xp xd heart But it is interesting, seeing just what works out.

redface i was in a "band-lationship" once.. hehe. blaugh but not anymore..... i dated my section leader once, but things didnt work out so now we juss really good friends 3nodding .... we have a bunch of band relationships in our band.. hah

we don't only have "band-lationships," we also have all musicians in general dating color guard people, jazz band people, marching band people, concert/symphonic band people, and/or orchestra people, but never choir. we call it the curse of the band geeks.

Maxomara Yep, it does work. Most of the percussionists here are cute anyway. blaugh We only have like two cute percussionists, and both of them are freshmen. xd Not that it matters, 'cause I've got a crush on a sax player anyway. ^^ The freshman in my class IS really cute, though. xp

Same-section relationships seem to work out really well, for some reason. Like we had two tromboners going out for... Six months, I think, which is decent, and that was the shortest same-section.
BTW,
Percussionists DO tend to be cute.
Or at least the percussion section usually has one or more cute guys in there..

i think french horns stick with brass instruments.. at least that is what i'm noticing.. like i'm going out with a trumpet sweatdrop and alot of the people in trumpets go out with any type of instument.

ShortyBeemer Of course there are relationships.... actually LOTS... at my school banders tend to stay with banders... In my band *and kinda choir too* we have a pretend family... its really funny... it started last year with seniors... Its this HUGE family with weird relationships... like my uncle is also my brother in law... and the girl he is married to is my sister, by adoption only..lol...O! and i was adopted and a minute later my mom said I had twins... eeeyyyyup...you heard right... I really had no choice in the matter...lol.. but i'm gonna get my "mom" to map out the tree and if i get it soon I'll post it here...... *gasp*Do you live in the south? Redneck stuff.....anyway... sweatdrop In our school it's the exact idea. Let's see.... we have... and oboeist and a trumpetist person, an alto sax and an alto sax, ehmm... a clarinet and a trombone, and I think a percussionist and a flutist.. anyway, all of the band love birds, good luck! (That'll probably be me next year ninja

I'm a Trumpet that goes out with a Clarinet, our tuning when we practice together is flawless.
Our Tuba player just broke up with his Alto Sax girlfriend to go with a Clarinet.
And the rest of the girls are whores in the beginner band. Seriously.

Band-lationships in our band are hilarious really. Some are just annoying stupid couples, and we have a couple people who ask everyone out and who have went out with dozens of people. >>; We have this one girl who asked out nearly every guy in our band IN ONE CONCERT NIGHT! gonk
I think my boyfriend and me are the only serious band-lationship in our band. 3nodding
