The air sang as a new window slowly shimmered into existence, its edges glimmered with the fire of Shavas's power. The sorceress's image wavered and then solidified, her expression was drawn and she panted with exhaustion. Her skin was even paler than usual, bringing to mind a walking corpse. Her black velvet gown served only emphasized the sallowness of her skin. The metal diadem of her position rested atop her skull amidst crimson tresses, the Amethyst in the center winked and glimmered in the light, and her face was framed by twin locks, decorated by inch long metal bands engraved with symbols. Her expression was grave beneath the veil of exhaustion. "My daughter is beyond my reach, beyond anyone’s reach I'm afraid, imprisoned within Laos's palace which resides deep within Tartarus.
Unfortunately for her, she is still alive. "

She broke off with a shudder, " Fortunately for us her clothing and belongings were left behind when she made that trip." She smiled weakly, and fingered a thin silver chain at her throat, “I was able to summon it, I have already sent out the summons. It may take them a while, but they will be here." She said that firmly, with a hint of angry resolve. “Even if they resent it, they will come or I will know why."

She pulled on the chain gently, revealing the amulet, it was a sapphire pendant the size of her palm, it was held in place by a silver spiral shaped to look like a snake, complete with miniscule fangs. The gem seemed to maintain a faint internal glow while it rested in Shavas's outstretched hand.

"Lord Toleranth, I believe its time to march your armies. Time is short, this world is dying. We must destroy Laos and rebalance the cosmos."

((Alright. I know I've been gone. Yea. Whatever. Anyway, since the person we had aligned to play this part has decided to abandon it...I'll take over until I can nag her enough to get started. You people really need to check out the character profiles more often. This character has been sitting there for a couple months with 'Pandora's Box' blatantly under her abilities. Her description even talks about the Black Mage Tower...-shakes head-))

All around the land, people of all races looked up as one. They felt a sensation they thought would never arise again, the pendants/tattoos they had taken many years ago grew warm for the first time since their mistress had passed on. Every single one of them dropped what they were doing and began to pack immediately. The Black Mages were on the move.

Kara felt her ring heat up and for a moment was confused. Having nearly forgotten about her oath to the Tower, when it hit her what the sensation meant she came close to falling off of the fence seh was sitting on.

'I never expected to be summoned by a Master of that Tower...what's going on? Everyone has drifted apart anyway so there's no way for a new Master to arise...'

She spent a moment deliberating whether or not she should listen to the pulsing ring on her finger. It was adamantine adn a fairly plain ring. If a stone had ever been set into it, it was lost. There was a hollow where one would assume the missing stone had gone, carved into that hollow was a gracefully sweeping black line. Most would assume this was caused by whatever had dislodged the stone.

Kara looked at her ring. She knew there had never been any stone. This ring was one of several options to choose from when one was accepted as a certified Black Mage. (Other options included a pendant, a tattoo, an earing, etc.) Kara had gotten her cert right after the previous Master, Shavas Yamagata, had died. A few weeks before most mages began to wander off.

Knowing her duty to her oath, but loathing having to listen to something so far into her past, Kara reluctantly pricked a finger. As blood welled up, she pressed it into the ring.

With that, Kara Amorous disappeared from her small home somewhere in the countryside of Houka.

Laos's citadel is a fortress, it is meant to withstand armies ten times greater than the one you will lead Toleranth. There is one catch. Sibel foolishly left a passageway open. A passageway accesible through Esperanza's palace. A palace equally protected from malevolent forces. I propose that we secretly move headquarters here. We will Send men up the river into the belly of our enemies stronghold, and weaken him from the inside while the larger part of our army drawns their attention, and hopefully their troops, outside."

"With assistance I believe we can weave a passageway across the distance between us and start the campaign within the next few days. As you mentioned earlier time is short. We can hammer out details when you arrive."

The gem in her palm flared momentarily and then settled back into its playful shimmer. " It appears I have guests of my own order on heir way." Her smile was genuine and sliced years off of her sickly appearance. "I know how I must look, and it is no way for me to appear in front them. I must rest soon. Is there anything else that needs discussing?"

((Faith, go look in the mod subforum. We have work to do my partner in crime...))

Kara appeared in the middle of nowhere. That's what it seemed to her anyway as she looked around the dense forest she'd landed in.

"What the hell?!" She complained aloud, "Stupid cheap ring was supposed to take me to the area the Master is in..."

She grumbled for a bit longer before deciding to use the ring's other power. With a twist, a small beam of light was emitted from the ring and it was pointing towards the city of Esperanza.

"What the...why would the Master be there?" But she shrugged and began walking out of the forest that was only a mile away from Esperanza.

A few hours of sleep had done wonders for Shavas's constitution. Her legs still trembled slightly, her smooth calves were mottled with bruises from yesterday's adventures, but her face was calm and betrayed none of her fear or anger.

Her gown was made of a silver material as light and sheer as gauze, but the silver embroidery refracted the light and spared her modesty. Black lace dripped from the full, splitted, sleeves.

Shavas swept into the appointed audience chamber, as regal as any Queen, two attendants flanked either side, both were smiling with awe at the return of their mistress. Her eyes swept the room, she was pleased. Their numbers weren't nearly as diminished as she had assumed.

" I am pleased that you have joined me this day. I thank you for answering my call, I assure you that it has been made under the most dire of circumstances. I have called you in hopes that you will help rid this world of a festering evil. Laos has returned thanks to the antics of a most accursed woman. Queen Jadira has been taken and now serves her father's cause. We need to open a portal, big enough for five grown men to walk abreast from Pearle into the antechamber off to my left." She motioned to the room, " I am not strong enough to accomplish such a feat on my own at this time. I'm afraid I am not fully recovered from some rather serious casting earlier this evening."

She smiled, genuinly, and glanced down as though embarrased. Those in the front few rows gaped with surprise at her abnormally maiden like behavior. "I'm sure many of you have questions as to my return from death's doorstep and I assure you that they all will be answered in good time, but now, I ask you to simply follow me unquestioningly as you once would have, for all our sake."

Shavas raised her chin, and stepped off the platform with as much pride as she could muster, and strode into the accompanying room.

(I'll help ya spoofeh)

The portal was seven feet in diameter and swirled with the different colors of their magics. All and all it was pretty good workmanship. Ten years ago Shavas would have scoffed at what would have been considered an embarrassment to their order. Ten years ago, she was working with a group of eager mages who practiced their art constantly and were trained by the best of the best black mages. This would have to do.

She opened the magical window once again, the rebellion's leaders were still where she had left them, all bore anxious expressions.
"My lords, ladies and your majesty; The portal is finished, it crosses the vast distance between us. It is not the masterpiece I would have hoped, but it won't unravel and is surly safe enough for or purposes. Now all that is required, is for you to open the gateway on your side. Its quite simple, even a human without his or her own could do so, the neccesary magic is there you need only speak my key spell which I will give you in a moment."

She turned to face the crowd once again, " This task is done. The rebellion leaders will arrive shortly, I'm afraid the space we have left in this room is not accompanying for them and the vast numbers they will bring. Therefore I must now ask some of you to retire. I realize you would like to return to the black tower, our home, but I have not yet removed the enchantments upon it. You may know where it is exactly but you will be neither able to see it nor enter it. Therefore I must ask you to take up temporary residence in the mages wing of the palace. Our time here is short before we must march into battle so I highly suggest that those of you I ask to leave use your time wisely and practice your spells as though your life depended on it, as it surely will. "

She returned to the leaders, "Speak these words when you are ready to depart. Archaia interim prophierum totalum. You needn't pack anything, I assure you the palace is readily equipped for our purposes. Personal items will be quite enough, packed in one bag. The trip is likely to be an unpleasant one, not dangerous, just unpleasant. You don't want to have to worry about more than one. Bring the box of course, with luck we will find its true master by the morn."

As she turned, the mages watcher her expectantly.
" All males, you may depart. Anyone who served under my predeccesor is also free to go. Anyone who fought during our last war with Laos may leave as well. If you have never before seen my face, you are too young and should go with the others. I would like anyone left to go sit in the chairs lining the walls and wait for further instruction."

You guys are irritatingly unactive.

( I tend not to play a major role in anything, so I tend to become inacctive during the busier periods of my life. Toli-sama on the other hand is currently constantly working in order to pay rent and such and doesn't get online much right now.)
