Susan was so surprised that the tree began to move that she let go of it and landed, rather painfully, onto the ground, next to the caterpillar.

Susan rubbed her head and then slowly sat up. "I think... I'm okay." She looked at the caterpillar. "You okay?"

"I'm fine, thank you for asking Mr. Catterin" The caterpillar looked past the girl at the tree, who replied in the most gentle manner.

"Of course I can talk!" replied the tree, in shock. "Little girls should stay out of branches you know. Pulled some out, you did."

Susan nodded vigorously and wiped her hands on her pants in a nervous gesture. "So where do we go from here?" She looked down at the caterpillar then back up at the tree.

The tree said, "Walk to a tree with a bat sitting on it, a blue ribbon tied to it's neck. Bats have a very good sense of location, so it may tell you where to go."

Susan looked all around and began to wander through the forest in search of the bat.

Stumbling through the forest, Susan finally found a bat with a ribbon tied to it's neck. Looking around, she saw bats scattered around, with different colored ribbons around its' neck. What color ribbon was it supposed to have again?

She furrowed her brow and looked around to see if any of the colors stood out. Then, at that moment, a bat with a blue ribbon tied in the fashion of a bow tie crossed her vision.
