Budgie cried, "I hate it. I don't want to be scary. It's not fair." All her sobbing made her head hurt, which only made her cry louder. She felt lonesome. She needed a hug.

"Hush now," Kaine said as he pulled her close in an embrace. "You're an adorable, sweet girl." He pulled back slightly to grin at her. "At least you don't have big, scary spider legs coming out of your back, eh?"
As he spoke, he wondered what had happened to the people outside. At the moment, though, Budgie was more important.

slifar Zach felt the body moving underneath him, and he had to fight to not let his claws pop his shoulders out of their sockets. He didn't want to hurt this person anymore than he had to, since he clearly wasn't much of a threat so long as Zach remained on top of him. "Well, as I said, go find someone else. We don't want any part of it, and if you try something like this again, I can promise I'll personally rip off your head. No point in listening to them against your will just to die is there? After all, you don't exactly seem like a stupid person to me. And who knows, if you think the situation through, it's possible you'll find another solution. Just. Leave. Us. Alone!" By this point, he had gained enough leeway with his struggles so that he could knee Zach squarely in the stomach, with as much force as he could muster, to throw him off. Then, he rolled over to the side to escape the pin, and stood up, wincing in pain and clutching at his wounded shoulders. "I don't want to die. But, I don't have a choice. I cannot survive my own body's needs. At least I know I have a chance at surviving you." He explained.

Zach stood up shakily, and shook his head slightly to regain his compsure. Then, he turned around and begain to walk away, pausing after going a few feet to look over his shoulder. "Look, I can't give you the answers. Just remember, I was serious about ripping your head off. What you don't realize is that you're in MY element. As long as we're outside, I'll never fight alone. The only reason I have been until now is because you ticked me off. I've cooled down enough, so I recommend you try solving your problems yourself." As soon as Zach said this, he begain to notice the faint rustlings in the foliage not far from where they were. He cursed himself for not noticing sooner.

"I don't think they're scary," Budgie said, hiccuping. "I think they're neat. So, you don't think I'm bad? Oh, I'm so happy!" Budgie cheered a little, though not too loud since her head hurt,"So, we can be best friends? Oh, maybe we can even be like family. I don't have any family."

Kaine gave a big smile. "Of course. I don't have any family, either. You and me, we'll be like big brother and little sister."

Budgie's face lit up, like the sun coming out after a storm, "Really? You mean it. Oh thank you Kaine! I've never had a big brother before. Oh, you're the bestest!" Budgie hugged Kaine, a big old bear squeeze. She was so happy!

Kaine hugged Budgie back tightly. It felt good to care and be cared for. "Well, now what do you want to do? You seem to have recovered," Kaine said to his young friend.
((Kind of tricky, since everyone else seems to have left. >.>))

"I don't know big brother Kaine," Budgie said, quite enjoying the fact she had a big brother taking care of her. Budgie had forgotten about the fight, probably due to the concussion she had. "Let's do something fun!" Budgie grabbed Kaine's hand and dragged him outside, but as soon as they left the house, Budgie screamed. About a dozen men surronded them, armed to the teeth. A tremor ran through her wings. They were the men. "By order of the U.S. government, come with us peacefully," said one man.

((Well, I was HOPEING for a reply from Senquis, but the fight's at a point where I could easily leave. So I think I'll do just that.))
Zac slowly made his way back to the house, too exausted to even change back into his normal self. Of course, he didn't have to go far before he picked up a strange scent of lots of men and a ton of gunpowder. He looked up, and had to fight to keep himself from running around like a scared lunatic. Worse, he could smell Budgie and Kaine in the center of the circle, the men's scent surrounding them like an evil aura. There was no way on earth Zach could possibly take on twelve men armed so heavily in the state he was in. Maybe if he was at the top of his game he could take a weapon and mow them down, but he could barely even run, much less force a weapon from someone's hands while avoiding getting shot. After weighing down the situation, Zach decided to dart unseen into the bushes and wait for an opening. Even if he WAS seen, he wouldn't have looked any different from the wolves that populated the area.
It was at this point it happened. Zach noticed something oddly familiar in the scent of the mob of men. Next thing he knew, it felt like he was having a giant nail drivin into the center of his skull. All four of his legs buckled, and he fell to the ground.

Budgie heard someone collapse, and caught sight of his wolfy form. Budgie cried out and ran towards him, "Zach!" However, a trigger happy man was startled by Budgie's sudden movement and before she knew it a bullet had pierced one of her wings. She screamed and crumbled.

Dragged by Budgie outside, he stopped short as he saw the men surrounding the house. Before he knew what was happening, Zach and Budgie were down, and there had been a gunshot. His spider legs, previously folded, bristled out. He knew who these men were, and he knew what they wanted.
Running to his friends, he formed a shell around himself with the unnaturally tough appendages. A few bullets shot at him and hit the barrier without harm, although one or two got through to graze his skin. Gritting his teeth at the pain, he stopped and stood next to Zach and Budgie, not actually having any idea what to do. Perhaps if the other two could get up, they could make a break for the woods. But as it was, they were practically helpless.

Budgie stood up, though a blow like that should have left her crippled in pain. Blood dripped from her injured wing, but she gave it little notice as she bared her teeth, feeling the darkness stirring inside her. She growled as feathers began to creep down her arm. She was too weak from her last battle to stop her transformation.A sudden gust of wind swirled around Budgie, knocking anyone near her a good few yards away, kicking up dirt. As the dirt fell down, Budgie sat in front of them, all thirty tons or so of her. Budgie had seemingly transformed from the relatively small girl to a massive, bird-like creature. Green feathers coated her body, with the exception of her leathery wings. She had a long, reptile like neck and head, looking like a primitive bird on a ten fold scale. She flared her wings and charged at one of the men, picking up a man in her jaws and crunching down on him with a wet snap.

Thrown back by the sudden winds, Kaine stood and looked up, shocked by what he saw. In cute, innocent Budgie's place, there was a gigantic avian crushing one of the men in its jaw. Not knowing what to do or say, Kaine moved closer to Zach's unconscious body, hoping to protect it from the monster. After all, last time, Budgie had just grown a few extra feathers, and she'd attacked Kaine. Who knew what the creature she'd become was capable of? Kaine shook Zach, patting him a few times on the face. "Hey, kid, wake up." He felt no urgency in protecting himself from the armed men, as their hands would certainly be more than full dealing with the huge bird. He just hoped they wouldn't be able to hurt her.

Zach slowly opened his eyes as the pain in his forehead fadded away. He knew who these men were, and he remebered seeing them somewhere before. The memory was far off, like a distant dream, but it was there. Of course, he was still missing bits and pieces, but he wasn't nearly as supprised when he located Budgie.
Zach slowly stood up, his legs shaking for a second until they found what was left of their strength. He looked at Kain, then back to the group of people around a giant......... Well, it LOOKED like a bird. "Geez, I can't leave for ten minutes without you two finding some sort of trouble.... Still, after last time, I think it would be safer to stay in here. Those guys arn't too heavily armed, at least, no heavy stuff." He looked around. Still in the woods, but it would be near suicidal to send anyone in with a Budgie tearing everything apart. "Ya know, I think this gives new meaning to the word 'bloodlust'"
