(( Oh, okay. I've got it now. ))

Now this situation was a bit more managable. Although the blow to his back was painful it wasn't incapacitating; the man was strong, but he didn't have much room to get in a solid blow in the time frame and the space he was allowed. So with that punch successfully shrugged off, he just had to deal with the hand grasping his, which was now held close to his body, and any forthcoming attacks. At least he still had one hand free.

And that free hand quickly went to work, first gesturing violently towards the ground as it began to glow a faint white. When it became fully extended towards the earth, a thin white mist emitted from it and struck the ground, turning the floor on which they stood to ice for ten feet all around. The Spear doubted that this man had been living and training standing on ice all his life, so continuing the motion with his free, left hand, he swings it back and punches for the brute's left knee. He had to stoop to do this, but since he was held by the man he didn't need worry about falling to the ground.

If all went right, they'd both end up on the ground. But for certain the electric warrior would be without his footing for a moment, the ground being frozen and all.
PostPosted: Wed Jul 06, 2005 12:45 am

All these assumptions...when the boy should be assuming just one thing...

Nothing.

John's footing didn't slip. In fact, he slammed his right foot into the ice before it formed around his foot, into the bitchumen beneath the ice, keeping his footing solid. His other, left foot, was hit by the punch - but John had twisted his leg anyways to slam his foot into the ground, the blow glancing off the side of the knee harmlessly.

Tomorrow was an electical elemental. He'd faced such powers as Maximos, Vahn the Efreet and Unsane. He had trained within all the elements, especially in the ones he was weakest in - because then he was less able to be weakened within them.

Now the boy had stooped his body downward, and John took advantage of the situation. The boy's bodsy would have slipped to the left - right into the crook of Tomorrow's left arm as it came up to wrap around his neck, the bicep pressing straight into the boy's throat and digging under his chin as his forearm pressed against the side of his neck, cutting off all circulation, breath and speech as he straightened up, lifting the boy off the ground to leave his feet dangling.

As he did this, Tomorrow used the slipperyness of the boy's captured wrist to his advantage - easing the pressure to the boy's wrist a few iotas as he lifted him off the ground, Tomorrow pulled the boy's arm back and up the middle of his back, locking the hand somewhere near his neck. The move was lightening fast, thanks to the slipperyness of the boy's wrist - John was able to lock the arm quicker, thanks to the fact that he didn't have to release all the pressure he'd put on it, thus risking the lock from breaking free.

Now the boy was a few inches off the icy ground, in a headlock, with a very large man behind him threatening to snap his neck/crush his throat with the flex of a bicep or dislocate/rip his arm off.

And Tomorrow was still laughing that half-manical laugh, almost as if he was enjoying himself...

But let us not forget the pool of ice at our feet, hm?

Vision was becoming blurry and the air was beginning to burn in his lungs as he bit his lip to keep the precious whips of oxygen within him, but he wasn't a member of the Spear for nothing. The young man glanced downwards at the pool of ice he had created about them and narrowed his eyes, the dark orbs flashing a very violent shade of blue. The ten-foot wide ice rink shrank about three feet in diamater...

... and a number of lance-like protrusions ripped at all angles into the big man. Each spear was about four inches wide and had needle-like tips, and they shot forth from the ice rink with enough force to break clean through plate armor. Luckily he had created enough ice before-hand to manipulate into these weapons.

His aim wasn't precise, but he made sure to stay clear of his own body, aiming for the knees and back of his opponent, whom couldn't really manuever much due to having his feet lodged in the ground.
PostPosted: Wed Jul 06, 2005 1:17 am

...Then again, Maximos did perform the same trick often with shadows. Which were harder to get away from, seeing as Maximos' shadows were nigh to unbreakable...

Ice and rock, however, were physical. Manageable. And if John could smash his boots into them...

...He could rip them out of them.

As the ice shrank around him, collecting beneath him, Tomorow's laughter grew - as he tightened his grip on both the boy's arm and neck and bent low, the ice beginning to grow smaller and thicker around his feet - as he suddenly leapt into the air with the boy in his arms!!

The force of the leap ripped a good chunk of the road and ice out as Tomorrow's feet followed his legs, but John only used this to carry his side-wards leap - cartwheeling his massive body through the air, flying right over the gasping crowd - to land on his feet outside the ring of spectators, the rocky ice shattering as he landed to scatter all around his boots.

Tomorrow's laughter finally died down as he exerted just a little more pressure on the boy's neck, pulling the boy's arm further up his back, putting him in more pain - and making him listen. "I dont think you understand, son...this isn't a crowded road...this is an operating room..."

Tomorrow's left arm suddenly tightened ariound the boy's neck as he viciously yanked the boy's arm straight up. A brutal tearing sound would emit from the right shoulder as the ligaments tore, following by a wet popping noise as Tomorrow seperated the humerus from the clavical.

"...and i'm the surgeon."

Unfortunately they never met the ground, or at least they never met it in the way the big man wanted them to. As they rose in the air the Spear immediately began to create more ice, freezing the water particles in the air all about them. The result was that in the time it took for them to rise up into the air, and then begin to descend, a chute of slippery ice had appeared beneath them. But this wasn't just to soften the landing, it was also meant to seperate the pair.

The chute was forked at the top, making it in the shape of a massive Y, with the 'mouth' of the slide leading to a wedge, which then led to a pair of seperate, smaller paths following the length of the 'shaft'. It was crudely made, and kind of lop-sided, but it would due. This wasn't the first time that he had had to do this, as people bigger than him were very fond of this sort of thing, so he knew how to swing it.

Everything would be set and hard except for the wedge, which he would alter just before landing, so that it would be in proper position to wrench them apart, but not take his arm off. Not that he would let his own ice hurt him, however...

If the boy thought some ice was going to hurt him, he was surely mistaken.

Still flying through the air, Tomorrow's laughter grew louder. "That's it, boy! Show me what you've got!!" He shouted between laughter - before twisting his body up as they entered the ice-tunnel.

Flying straight up, John's arms still tightly grasping the boy, he pulled his legs apart, shattering the rock and ice connecting his boots - before he craned his back forward, sheilding the boy from what was about to happen as they reached the start of the tunnel -

Before John's back rammed straight into the tunnel's mouth, the ice shattering and crunching as his body flew straight into it with enough force to launch a good 500lbs into the air - before they began to fall - straight down towards the pointy ice-punjabs sticking out of the ground still.

"My bet is this'll hurt you more then it'll hurt me..." Tomorrow muttered into the boy's ear. Even if the boy could take the ice in the chest and stomach, he would still have to worry about being body-slammed into the ground by a 300-pound Tribal - who was now peeved, seeing as his neck really hurt from that slam into the ice...

((I was kinda going with the flow. I dont see how you can convert a former attack into a desperation attack and stil have enouhg power to use more energy to make something bigger then what you would have perviously done, even though you've already admitted to being half-way choked. But if you want Tomorrow to smash his way out, i'll edit.))

(( I'm kind of making calls that come down to judgement, because I don't know how long a grown man can withstand holding his breathe, but I know I just did it for a little over a minute. And all of this is taking place over the course of, like, seconds.

And if somebody can rip themselves free of concrete and ice with just their weight, I'm kind of assuming that somebody who has been training for quite some time in the use of his 'skill' could freeze himself up a pretty decent little chute, especially if it wasn't the first time he had done it.

But I suppose if you don't feel like it I could just go with:

"Bleh. Dead. Victory - Big guy." ))

(( If in real life there were ultra-strong, super-fast warriors who could shrug hits off like gusts of wind, then yeah, I'd be ********. But unfortunately we live in the world of stupid contradictions and lightning fast reflexes, so we'll have to work something out.

Either,

    A) They seperate, battle it out, yadda yadda yadda, end up not liking each other and maybe a fatality.

    B) The Spear dies, John becomes a fugitive, and is hunted whenever he steps into Latent by the local security force.

Your call, because I don't really care. This is just an NPC to me.

(( Sure, why not. I planned on making this NPC the sibling of the character I was actually going to RP, so I guess if you killed him it might be kind of fun having his big brother go all looney.

Eat him, break him in half; do what you will. ))

((Very well.))

Sailing toward the stabbing icicles, John could see through his sunglasses the water trickling off the tip of one - before realising his prey was unconcious in his arms, unable to fight back.

Grimacing, his body sparked briefly - before a sheer sheet of plasma flashed out over the spikes, the purest form of electricity flashing before Tomorrow and the boy's body to allow them to land unmolested.

...Well, not the boy, who was crushed underneath John's body. John wasn't finished, as he rolled to the side as the chute of ice above them finally allowed gravity to take hole, flying down to shatter what had been left of the ice.

Getting up off the boy - who now had one dislocated shoulder, a broken sternum, and a very bruised neck - John gave him a kick in the guts for good measure.

"Thats for being pig-headed, Spear." He muttered, bending down to pick up his sunglasses which had fallen off from the impact, placing them back on his nose. "Perhaps next time you should be more polite instead of being so pig-headed."

He looked about him, to the crowd, who was staring at him in awe.

Shrugging, he put his hands in his pockets and pushed his way through the crowd, walking away. His message had been delivered...nobody messes with a man who had felled a good few foes in his time. Who was also a GSF agent.

Guess i'm not so rusty after all...

After the large man had walked off, the exact moment he had left the field of vision about the beaten young man actually, a man appeared with a small swirl of air. Not to say that he had travelled there by any means, simply that he was no visible. This newest person was also a member of the Spear, but obviously of higher rank, as the crest on his left forearm was trimmed in gold, and he looked to be almost the spitting image of the man lying on the ground...

... except that he wasn't beaten to hell.

Also the locks that fell about his face weren't black, but rather were white, and he was maybe four or five inches taller. Otherwise, though, they could have been twins - maybe not twins, but definately related. Giving the prone figure of his brother a small sniff of displeasure and a sharp kick to the side, he reaches down and drags the ice elemental to his feet by the collar of his uniform, forcing him to stand; although he did have to support him with a iron grasp on his upper arm.

"Stupid child. You have shamed the house of Lock and the Lantian Spear."

Not that the beaten man could hear any of this, being unconscious and all.

"Your mission will just have to wait. You are in no condition for it now."

And with that statement the white-haired Spear became transluscent, yet not entirely invisible, as if he had become a whispy white ghost of himself. It was all too easy for the man, whom didn't look quite strong enough to do it, to throw the boy over his shoulder like an old sack of potatotes, and rise eerily into the air moments after. Then, like a walk in the park, the ranking member of Spear began to casually stroll off towards the edge of Latent, to the east, travelling on air currents.

They were soon out of sight, but not forgotten. The fight and ensuing rescue would be on the lips of the town for days to come, and the scene wouldn't soon leave the minds of the Spear.

The Spear was a proud orginization.
