i don't think it has to reflect it at all. i think that you wear what you wear and that's it. sometimes you wear shirts or whatever that match the band you're listening to and love to death, and other times you just stumble out of bed and whatever is in the drawer is what you end up putting on.

Quite often though people's clothes reflect their musical taste...you don't often get people dressed as Goths who listen to hip-hop..I think the music goes with what you decide to wear..but when it comes down to it..everyone should be original rather than following a trend..

The clothes dont necesarilly HAVE to reflect the music you lsten to, it's just that most of the time, the people like the clothes that go with themusic

I don't think what you wear should reflect what you listen to. I think that it's just stupid that people care so much.

Ani_Organa It doesn't have to, although most of the time it does. I'm not saying it's okay for me to look at a guy dressed completely in black, chains, and spikes and assume he's listening to rock or heavy metal ... but I can almost assure you he isn't listening to Nsync! Musical genres aren't just about types of music, they also stereotype the people who listen to the music; in a way, the music forms a 'way of life' for some. The musicians who make the music usually dress a certain way, (the 'in' style for that stereotype) and the fans follow. It's not just this way with clothes; musical interests also relfect the type of car you drive, the way you talk, ect. BUT, it's not always like that. There are tons of people who like different types of music, hang out with a diverse group of people, and make their own style ... and I think that's pretty cool 3nodding Yup yuo, That's what it's about. I can be defined as the "whatever" style. I'll wear jeans and a rock-tee one day, then the next wear dress shirts from Aero, then the next day wear all black. It all depends on how you feel and what you feel influences you.

Well... I don't have any band shirts to wear in the first place... Although I wish I did.. I don't... But yet I listen to multiple different bands and stuff like that... So I really don't think it matters.

OMG-ness-tisity. If I had to look and act like the music I listen to, well... I don't KNOW! I listen to all kinds of genres and stuff. But it's mostly rock. If I dresed like one, my sisters would murder me and call me a poser. I would get totally beaten. But they dress to their music too, which really makes it unfair.
But even so, what does it matter? That right there is STEREOTYPING!!!
