Artemis.....no special training is required. Most programs available offer trained teachers to help you out. Mostly through a phone number you can call if you have questions, but some have internet assistance as well.
Pimpin_Flame......Yes, as a matter of fact, dogs do get depressed. The reasons for depression in dogs are as numerous as in humans. There are several psychological issues we humans can share with our canine pals. My Shelby suffers from Seperation Anxiety and cries whenever I leave the house. Dogs can become depressed and if they are left in a kennel for a time or if a fellow playmate in the house dies. They have a grieving process just like we do.
Some of the symptoms of canine depression include; lethargy, refusal of food, loss of interest in entertainment, and a change in normal behavior. If you notice some of these symptoms in your pet, it is important that you contact your vet. Indicators like the lack of appetite have the potential to be life threatening if left untreated.
Treatments range from prescription anti-depressants to a change in the environmental situation. I have found that the best cure for depression in my dogs is to simply spent more time with them and pay more attention to their needs.
Ok, I'll stick a cork in it for now! 3nodding

Thanks. Yeah, my dogs just been acting really weird lately. I think it could be me though. He's my baby and my best friend and we pick up on eachothers feelings a lot. Once again thanks. I'll keep an out for the signs you mentioned.

Hi, everyone. x3 Im new.
But doggies can get depressed. sad My cousin had a little dog that would always sit in this armchair, waiting for him to get home. My cousin got shot in a street fight (he wasnt even in it, he was just passing through) and Brownie (dogs name) sat in the chair for almost 3 days and it would refuse food and water. After 3 days, Brownie realized that my cousin wasnt coming back, she was brought over to our house and me and my mom went to my cousin's grave. Brownie just laid down on top of it and died. sad Everybody that I tell this story to cries, and every word is true.
Then my dog got depressed when she got old and tired. sad

Any Wiccans in Louisiana? x3 I'm not an internet stalker, but me and my aunt are planning something. We sent a letter to the senator because the schools don't let any students out for Wiccan holidays (not that there's many of us where I live XO) and she said that if we get arrested, she wants some back-up. xd

@ Chase: Welcome! That story's so sad! How can people say animals don't have souls?!
@ Pheonix: Sorry, wish I lived there so I could help. Sadly I live in Indiana.
I myself just need a little white light sent my way. My dad and I aren't talking right now. I love the man to death but he just doesn't understand me and refuses to listen. crying

@ Kayla: Aww... sad I understand, I had a problem with my dad because he still sees me as "his little girl" and always will, and went ballistic when he found out that I have a boyfriend. o_o

Pimpin_Flame @ Chase: Welcome! That story's so sad! How can people say animals don't have souls?! Seriously. sad That little dog was sweet too I miss her. Everytime someone tells me that animals dont have feelings I tell them that story and they change their tune real fast.

@ Pheonix: Lol. My dad has seen me with a million guys and still freaks out. ^^ Must be a dad thing. Well, at least we know they love us, right? 3nodding
@ Chase: At the church my parents make me go to, the pastor says they don't! evil I hear a lot of guys say they don't too. So its good to hear a guy disagree. =)

Yeah, but that's my daddy for ya. XD My mom's the exact opposite though. o_o She's putting me on the pill because I'm gonna be at my daddy's house all summer, and my boyfriend lives up the street. D= She says it's a "just in case" thing. Now, if I even hug my boyfriend in front of my daddy, daddy says, "Keep your distance, Jacob." D=

Gosh. This guild has slowed down a lot. Is everyone just busy. I know I've been but finals are almost over along with school. So if there is anything I can do to help the guild out, let me know! ^^
