Ka glanced back with a slight smile and pointed out, "Well, we're doing it anyway, aren't we?" Turning back around again, he spotted the older man watching the two of them but didn't appear startled by it - or at least not much. He did blink slightly, looking back at him for a moment.

It only took him that long to take in the other - noting pointed ears and raising his brows slightly. "Hey Far. Think that's one of the teachers?" he murmured, tipping his head in the man's direction. Partly ... just to see the other boy's reaction to what had to be an elf.

Farlest's green eyes widened as soon as he'd turned to look in the direction that Ka was indicating...and he made a soft, gasping sound. "Oh...has to be...he's an elf..." He seemed almost awed by the idea...in some sort of rapturous haze by the fact that there was an elf standing but a few yards away.

He turned a beautific smile on his friend and proceeded to grab Ka's wrist. "Let's go say hello!" Far said cheerfully, dragging the other towards where Dante was standing. Uhm...yes...he wasn't shy in the least.

Dante had been looking around for his crows--where HAD the rascally little imps gotten off to?--when he saw the two children approaching him.

While he didn't deny the possibility that the black-haired child had, in some way, Elvish blood within him, he was beginning to doubt it. The child WAS fair, to be certain, but he had never truly interacted with elven-human hybrids.

Nontheless, Dante inclined his head towards the two.

"Can I help you both?

It had started out innocently enough. His father had left him at the port with Banish, his bag, his skateboard and what could be mistaken for a heartfelt goodbye. (Only father and son knew it was an act, and frankly, neither cared.) There was no mother sobbing, god knew who his mother was, and no other immediate family to see him off. Scyeth wouldn't have it any other way. Being an only child put him in the spotlight anytime he wanted, after all.

Then he had to board the boat. In theory, it wasn't that difficult. He stored his bags and board somewhere safe (wouldn't do to have it rolling overboard) and had traveled back to the deck. That's where the problems started. Scyeth hadn't been on a boat since he was very young, and the entire trip he found rather...unpleasant. Banish agreed.

He arrived at the school a little paler than he should be and much wobblier than he'd ever like to admit. Banish arrived in the same state, but being a cat, recovered in a few moments where Scyeth took a full minute or two before he was feeling up to actually moving. Bag slung over his should and checkered board under his arm, he decided his best bet would be to follow the rest of the students to the clearing.

It took him a few moments to peel himself off and away from the railing of the ship as it finally docked at the pier, and as he stepped back and rubbed at his mouth with his sleeve he glanced about to see if anyone had turned in his direction to gawk or murmer. Fortunatly it seemed like the deck was empty with him being the only remaining member, so he quickly smiled and moved to run and get his things before he was stuck once more on the raft of stomach upset.

After making his way down and onto solid ground he breathed a sigh of relief, one that echoed throughout his entire body and caused him to shiver slightly. He prayed he'd never have to ride on another ship again and instead could fly...or swim...or do anything that didn't involve rocking. He'd probably even avoid rocking chairs for a while after all this, since the motion was most likely to bring up nasty tasting memories.

But what was he to do next? He didn't remember being briefed on it but as he saw another student that he recognized from being a fellow passenger on the trip start to move into a clearing, or more at all, he followed without a moments hesitation.

Dante's blue eyes flicked from the two students approaching to the other, a blonde-haired boy dressed in the "punk" style of attire. Interesting.

Scyeth took a few moments to spot the adult. It wasn't as though he didn't stand out, he certainly did, Scyeth just wasn't that observant when he was feeling hassled. It wasn't until he accidentally stepped on Banish and was promptly yowled at. The boy glanced down at his hissing cat, nudging him with his foot in hopes of hurrying him along. He didn't really feel like making a scene.

He glanced back up and tipped his head to one side before making a bee line for the adult. "Yo!" he hollered, forgetting any manners his father may have tried to install in him. He trotted over, only hoping Banish had enough sense to tag along. He'd never find his cat if he got lost amongst the other boys. "You know what we're supposed to do?"

"Ah...wait..."

Micajah raised his hand slightly as the other boy took off in a new direction like a shot, but unfortunately for him he didn't speak that loud nor did he wavbe his arm like an idiot to garner any attention - not that the boy he'd been following would have actually noticed and did anything. After all...he HAD been following HIM, instead of it beind the other way around.

"Good grief..."

He wasn't sure if he should continue to follow the boisterious boy and his femile sidekick over towards their new destination, and instead he opted to just simply stop walking and stand in one spot for the time being. If worse came to worse and everyone cleared out he could follow them that way....and chalk it all up to a learning experiance about asking for complete directions beforehand.

Dante blinked. This boy was...blunt.

His hand went to the crow on his shoulder, finger tugging at the yellow talon latching onto robes as the bird eyed the cat hungrily; this earned him a squawk and a glare. He didn't pay attention, instead keeping his eyes fixated on the boy.

"Stand around, mingle and meet new people, I suppose," Dante said, eyes trained on the boy. "You are...Scyeth, right?" The boy had been hard to miss on the pages.

Scyeth was about to say something when Banish puffed up beside him, making a long, low growling noise. Rather startled, the boy glanced down at the black feline. "Umm," he started, blinking. He looked back up, eyeing the man's bird with a small frown. "Guess he doesn't like your pet much," he concluded, grinning sheepishly. Cats were so strange. Especially his. He gave Banish a gentle shove with his foot.

"Anyways," he started, running a hand through his hair, "I am indeed the one and only Scyeth, though I must admit, it's kinda weird you already know my name." Quite strange indeed, all things considering. He gaze never flinched even as the teacher locked his eyes on him. "So who're you?" he prodded, folding his arms over his chest.

"Me? I'm Dante Araquenosse. I'm a Professor here. I apologize for my pet. They've been the only animals around here for so long, so sharing what they've come to see as their territories is difficult for them."

Dante nodded to the boy's other statement. "Yes...you stuck out a lot. We don't have many students that dress like you here...it's not a style I was expecting, so I was a bit surprised."

"Pleasure to meet you," Scyeth chirped, impressed with himself for remembering his manners. He opened his mouth to continue his conversation when Banish puffed out, all hair standing on edge as he yowled. The teenager scowled, glaring down at his obnoxious cat. Wasn't Banish supposed to be the 'civilized' one? He gave Banish a harder shove. "Stop it," he hissed.

He looked back up at the professor, giving him his trademark wicked grin. "Well, I don't think I can complain if you guys already know me," he purred, really rather pleased with the idea. He liked making someone do a double-take, liked shocking them, whatever. "So. I'm here. I've mingled. Now what?" he asked, getting right to the point. He didn't have time for just standing around. Had a school to explore and people to harass...er...meet!

"Oh, I wouldn't say we know you," Dante said rather flatly. "It's just that all the teachers review a student's essay, resume and credentials and we all vote on it. In your case it was your unusual choice of clothing that stuck out to me," he said matter-of-factly, not trying to be unkind but not sugarcoating things either.

"So if you're done here, you can go rest in your dormitory or go talk to some of the other teachers. I'm sure they'd love to meet you."

Scyeth shrugged, seemingly unphased. As a self-proclaimed master of burning people, he should be able to take some pretty good hits himself. This was just a mere scratch on his ego. The blond probably didn't totally realize it. He was not, however, impressed with the professor's lack of humor. He could only hope this particular man was not one of his teachers...or that most teachers weren't like him, or he would have a very difficult time this year.

"Well..." Scyeth mused, glancing around. He didn't see any other teachers present and he wasn't exactly keen on the idea of a chase. "...I suppose I'll go put my stuff in my dormitory." He shrugged. His bag was rather heavy and he would appreciate getting Banish out of the public eye. Stupid cat. "It was a pleasure meeting you...um...professor," he said, frowning. He wasn't exactly sure how he was expected to address people here. Well, that would suffice. He gave a small wave and turned to head off, giving Banish a shove with his leg. It was to the dormitories for them...unless they ran into someone else first.

It wasn't a common occurance, but the Headmaster himself mingled with the gathered, finding his way through the throngs of people to speak with Dante. The exchange was brief - as it often was with his elven Advisor - and to the point. Norman gave a curt nod to the brown-haired man, adjusting his suit and tie in an old habit, turning to exit the area once again.

He caught something - or rather, someone - out of the corner of his eye, prompting him to turn and pay heed. It was a student. Now, this wasn't unusual, save for the fact that the student was alone, and that simply wasn't acceptable. His blue eyes swept over his Advisors, noting that both were busy with new students, before looking back to the one who looked somewhat uncertain.

The man had gone over each application personally, and so it was no surprise that he knew who this boy was as he approached, offering a friendly smile. "Good day," he greeted, "you must be Micajah Ackart." A large hand was extended to the youth, smile still intact. "I'm Norman Prinwaltz. I'm the Headmaster here."
