"Yes," Remus answered simply. "Because in the book Severus Snape used the Killing Curse on Dumbledore. This upset Miss Nykol, and as a result... she took it out on you."

Severus swallowed, shivering. He wiped his eyes with the back of his hand. "...M-Miss.. Raven... she.. she'd let me.. stay here..?" he asked softly, looking up at him. "I.. I don't want to go back to the castle..."

Lucius curled up around Remus after returning home from tormenting Severus. He was greatly content at this very moment-- torturing others was a wonderful stress reliever. "So, my dear Remus, what exactly are you planning to do now?" he asked, stroking the werewolf's hair.
Remus sighed softly. "Lucius, I told you before--"
"That we're not going to do anything? Of course, Remus. But you know that you can't deny that I can provide you with something you want and need-- something your current mates can't-- or won't," Lucius crooned, continuing to stroke the werewolf.
Remus didn't respond for a long time before pulling away from Lucius and standing. "I'm going to see them--"
"And what will you say, Remus?" Lucius asked calmly.
Remus didn't respond immediately, his eyes downcast before he turned and walked away.
"That's what I thought... you have no idea."

Atticus eyed the front door with a ferocious curiosity, trying to decide whether he'd prefer kicking it open or just knocking.
Tsuzuki was rather for the latter, not being in the mood to announce his presence to the vast majority of the nest's residents. He just wanted to talk to 'soka, damnit! Was there any way he could do that without raising a ruckus? ... Probably not, but that wasn't the point! "I think we should--"
His suggestion was cut off by Atticus deciding kicking would be more fun. Thankfully, it wasn't enough to even dent the door--whatever it was made of--but Atticus didn't seem to have suffered any ill effects from such hard contact with it either... "They'll see what the pounding was eventually, I'm sure~" he said brightly to the puppy, still holding quite tightly to Tsuzuki's trenchcoat.

Who should open the door but Lucius Malfoy. Smiling at the intruders, he laughed quietly. "Well, well. What brings visitors to the Nest today?" he asked quietly.

The identity of the lamia was lost entirely on both anthros, though Atticus couldn't have cared less. "The puppy's looking for someone named ''soka' or--I don't know, he's not very coherent. Me, I'm just looking for a nice, in depth conversation about this 'Circle' I keep hearing about~"
Tsuzuki, meanwhile, attempted to take the opportunity to detach himself from the coon and hopefully sneak past the strange lamia in search of his partner--he knew where the room was, but he'd have to get inside first.

"The Kitten is in his room right now-- I assume you know where that is, Tsuzuki?" Lucius smiled. He made a point to know who his house mates associated with. He wasn't ignoring Atticus. Really.

"I certainly hope he is," Tsuzuki muttered under his breath, settling his bearings and heading off in what he was pretty sure was the right direction. Wonder of wonders, for once his sense of direction did not fail him and he happened upon the door to his partner's room right where he'd expected it to be. He knocked cautiously. "Hisoka, you in?"
Atticus was unamused--but only a little. "Oh come on, I just want to know a teensy little bit," he sniffed at Lucius. "Why am I so offensive, hm?"

"Perhaps you're asking the wrong questions," Lucius smiled at Atticus. "Or perhaps you're asking the wrong people at the wrong place."
Hisoka heard Tsuzuki's voice and sighed softly. "I'm here," he muttered, not moving from the desk he sat at, doing paperwork. Sort of. It was research on what might have caused them to get stuck here.

"You sound like a pratical sphinx," Atticus rolled his eyes ceilingwards. "Not that ambiguity's going to chase me away," he tilted his head to the side, looking into the nest. "Am I not allowed to come in?"
Taking that as an invitation to come right in, Tsuzuki did so, closing the door behind him and surreptitiously peering over Hisoka's shoulder to get a look at what he was doing. "So... what have you been up to?" he asked tentatively.

"'Allowed'? Of course. Everyone's allowed in unless Miss raven has ruled otherwise," Lucius smiled. "But make anyone upset, and you'll find yourself in trouble-- Beta of a pack or not."
Hisoka didn't look up as he continued skimming through pages. "Trying to find out why we're here," he answered curtly.

His reputation had preceded him? Odd. Especially considering he hadn't made much of one yet. In fact, the only anthros he'd spoken more than a few words to since his... return... had been Tsuzuki and the coon he'd learned was Tatsumi. ...Tatsumi... "That's one of the things I'm so very curious about--this 'getting people upset' business," Atticus drawled, flitting in through the door and glancing at the decoration neutrally. "From what I've gathered, it's seemed a bit extreme."
Uh oh. He'd been productive. And Tsuzuki had been... far less than that. "Oh..." he responded eloquently. ".....I'm really sorry about this whole mess, by the way," and he was too, strangely enough. Because seriously, who wanted to get stuck so far away from home with so many people who had a habit of bordering on the sadistic psychopath side of sanity? Not that they'd had much of a home to begin with...

"Is it?" Lucius shrugged. "I'm not sure what you're talking about," he smiled, closing the door behind Atticus and slithering deeper into the Nest.
Hisoka shrugged. "Whatever," he muttered as he flipped through more pages. He didn't know if he could deal with Tsuzuki right now, not when everything was so... up in the air.

Not seeing anyone else to bother, Atticus followed. "Well yeah," he continued, "I can see the safety in numbers strategy in the works but none of the Circle members are weak enough to need others for protection--I don't think at least. I don't know very much at all," he repeated warmly. "So what's the angle?"
Resisting the urge to whine and finding fidgeting in the center of the room to be unhelpful to his cause, Tsuzuki flopped onto the bed. "You find anything useful?"
