Gaara shot up, "No! I don't want to go home. I don't want to go where they all hate me! Please, don't make me go back there. I don't...I don't..."Gaara sank to his knees, blood mixing in with tears that had once again began to spill from his eyes, "Don't make me go back there. I hate it there. No one..." Gaara seemed to choke on his own words. He reached out and grabbed on to Kiba's leg, "Don't make me. Please, don't make me go back there."

"Gaara... " Kankuro murmered, looking up at his brother. He had this sickening feeling in his stomach that told him that things just got worse, rather then better. It was also a feeling that everything was his fault. "Sorry for existing." He suddenly muttered in a voice that didnt seem his own as he stood and walked out on his own, again not realizing that he had left Karasu behind. Mentally stabbing himself that he was just running away again, and at another point in time that his brother might need him. But everything was so confusing inside him, and he hated it. Not knowing how to get rid of it... how to fix everything.
"Being able to fix puppets doesnt mean I can fix anything else..." He murmered to himself as he was once again on the path to nowhere in particular, though, he subcontiously knew that he was heading for the village gate, and beyond that, possibly nowhere. Maybe if he just disappeared...
((Hmm... The brothers think alike, in some instances, ne?))

He also felt a strange heat filled his face up to the brim. He didn't know what to call it. And anything he couldn't name, bothered him. Soon, they were in front of Shikamaru's house. He unlocked the door and led Sasuke inside, "Hey, are you all right? You haven't said a word since that...thing happened." Sasuke blinked at looked at Shikamaru. "I'm fine. But how is it unusal for me not to talk?" He raised an eyebrow to go along with his question. Shikamaru felt a weight of relief flutter away like a butterfly when Sasuke looked at him, "Uh, yeah. You're right. You don't talk that much anyway, do you?" He scratched the back of his head and sighed. "The Shogi board is in my room." He jerked his thumb towards the stairs.

Sasuke shook his head. "No...I don't usally find a reason to talk. Even in, what people call, an 'important' moments. Never have. Possibly never will." He shrugged.
He nodded when Shikamaru pointed up stairs. He pulled off his sandles and placed them next to the door. "Shall we...?" He asked.

Gaara's eyes widened. That is what he really didn't want to hear, "No...Kankurou. Kankurou, come back. Don't leave me! KANKUROU!! KANKUROU!!!" Gaara was screaming at the top of his lungs, "DON'T LEAVE! DON'T HATE ME!!! KANKUROU!" Gaara continued to scream. his voice cut through the silence of Konoha at dusk and seemed to echo in places unknown. He pulled away from Kiba and moved to the window, "DON'T LEAVE ME!!!" he reached out the window, as if blindly, "KANKUROU!!!"
((Holy shiz. This is all playing through my mind right now. It's kind of...sad. Yeah, sad. That's the word for it.))

"I feel almost the same way. Talking can be such a waste of breath." Shikamaru tossed Sasuke a little smirk before he, too, put his sandals by the door. Shikamaru led Sasuke up the stairs, "I forewarn you now. It is a tad messy in my room."

Sasuke shrugged. "Clean or dirty, it won't make me think any less of you." His eyes widened at his own comment. He looked away and crossed his arms. 'Stupid!! Never speak again!' That might be another reason why he doesn't talk. One may never know...

Kankuro had heard Gaara's screams at him to get him to stop, but he simply couldnt. He didnt want to, knowing that he probably would screw things up again. All he did was cause people pain. The girl he bullied. Gaara. Kiba. Gaara, and... possibly Kiba once more, though, he had no way of knowing, now that he was running away. What was a little more, to an eternity of none?
((What's even worse is that i'm watching my least-happy episode right before bed.... my two favorate characters, one dead, the other... dies in that episode. episode 19, for anyone that's curious as to which one i'm referring to... I'm probably gonna cry... sweatdrop ))

((Aw, sad. Lemme guess. Haku and Zabuza? I got it right, didn't I?))
Gaara pulled himself out the window. He couldn't see his brother anymore and something told him that the other wasn't coming back, "KANKUROU!!!! DON'T LEAVE ME! DON'T LEAVE!! I LOVE YOU! DON'T LEAVE!!!" He collapsed on to his knees, "Don't leave. Mommy, Daddy and Uncle already have. Don't leave me..." he had cried so much that day that he could cry no longer. Even when it hurt the most.

Shikamaru shrugged, "That's nice to know. Thanks." he pushed open the door to reveal a room with clothes and paper littering the floor. There were sketches everywhere. Shikamaru had forgotten about those. He remembered what some of them were. Creatures who looked a lot like Sasuke. He quickly went around his room and picked up the papers. He looked at the one on top that he held in his hands. It was a picture of a half-naked Sasuke with water of some kind dripping down his body. Is this really what he did with his spare time?
Shikamaru shook his head and shoved the papers in a drawer. He pointed to the Shogi board, "There it is. It's all ready set up."

((Yeah... my two favorates... Then Kankuro, because in alot of ways, he's like me...

Sasuke raised an eyebrow at the papers being picked up. He decied he wasn't going to ask. Unless...Shikamaru wanted to tell him. He looked over at the board. He nodded once and sat down beside it. He looked at the board. "It looks old..." He muttered, tracing a thin finger over the edge.

Shikamaru sat down at one side of the board, "Asuma-sensei gave this to me." he messed around with one of the pieces and ran his finger along the edge of the board. Out of everything in the room, the Shogi board seemed to be taken care of the best.

"I see..." A slight smile tugged at Sasuke's lips. "Will you go frist, or shall I?" He asked in an almost teasing voice. Almost! He lay a hand on the corner of the board and let it rest there. An old habit he had had since he was little.
