"She can keep her ideas to herself as they can only be dreams and nothing more. No one will ever compare to you in my eyes." Almost out of complete instinct upon hearing the voice, his wings fluttered up defensively around them as his head turned and blue eyes peered out over his shoulder. His arms held her tightly, as if ready to take flight if need be. Completely involuntary reaction. "I take it this is your sister, dear Raelen?" He smiled over to Rae consolingly.

Raelen cringed at the sound of her sister's voice and curled into Byakko's wings. She burried her face into his chest, ears flicking. Finally, she looked up and gave a little growl towards Erica's words. "Don't start, please, Erica." Looking up towards Byakko, she smiled weakly and nodded. "Yes...Byakko, this is Erica Marie. Erica, this is Byakko."
"Must ya introduce me by usin' my full name? Reminds me of mum, how she always used ta use our full names wheneve we were in trouble," Erica chuckled and brushed her brown bangs back from her face, nodding her head towards Byakko as she sat down. "Probably never helped that I was always in trouble. How ya been, little sis? No hug for me, no nothin'? Don't I just feel loved. Then again, knowing yer distant heart, yer probably usin' all yer strength to focus the love on yer bird-man."

Byakko gave a light-hearted almost mocking 'hm' in response to being called 'bird-man'. He would behave only for Raelen's sake but he did not take kindly to jesters such as this one appeared to be. He came to rub Raelen's back soothingly, hidden away by her long lockes.
His gaze turned to her sister. "Good evening, Miss Erica Marie. I take it you have traveled a great distance to be here?" His voice was civil and a faux friendly tone that would be apparent to Raelen that she had already left a bad taste in the regal elder's mouth but completely oblvious to those who did not know him well.

Raelen gently brushed her fingers through Byakko's hair, all the while her eyes focused on her sister. This wasn't good. It'd never be good. When it came down to them having a wedding, Erica Marie would want to be there. When it came down to children, Erica Marie would want to be there. The hardest thing was knowing that Erica would never make a good aunt, just as she had never really made a good sister. Raelen loved her, but that didn't mean she had to like her. "You're right. I'm occupied," she said softly.
"Psh. Ya always get yer hopes up when it comes ta men. Then again, ya get yer hopes up when it comes to anybody." Erica's white eyes focused on Byakko and she offered a smirk. "Eh, any distance is worth travelin' ta live close ta the one's ya love to torment, right?" The feline loved Raelen dearly, she just had an odd way of showing it. Erica new she was far from perfect. She planned on growing up as the old lady who had a lot of cats.

"Actually, there is no hope only fact." A correction to her as he rested his head against Raelen's. "I have completely sworn off all others who are not your sister, Miss Erica Marie." This brought a true smile. From the glint in his face, he enjoyed using her full name. "Love to torture? So I must assume then that without Raelen in your life, you must have been particularly lonely to travel so far. How very sisterly of you."
A compliment or an insult? It could have been taken earlier way. Byakko looked at the sister curiously. "Have you been enjoying your new home?" From the way he was holding Raelen, the feline could see it was taking Byakko's strength to be polite.

Raelen smiled warmly at Byakko's words, before she hid her face against his chest, her shoulders shaking as she held in giggles at Byakko purposefully using Erica's full name. She finally brought her head back up and gently kissed his cheek, from an angle that Erica couldn't see, before glancing back towards her sister. "Oh, sisterly? Erica doesn't know anything about that, do you, dear sister?"
"Yer right, I don't know anythin' 'bout that sorta thing. But, I do know how ta torment ya just right, don't I? That's gotta count fer somethin', shows that I pay attention ta ya enough ta know what really presses yer buttons." The feline's eyes shifted back towards Byakko, and she couldn't help but give a grin with a certain glint in her eyes. "Enjoyin'? The best place I've ever been! Tormentin' that fire fox sure is fun, and then there's that fella named Darrick. Then that cow that I call 'Moo-Moo,' he really doesn't like that. They all get flustered so easily! Never been 'appier!"

The hawk elder smiled brightly down to Raelen when she had her face against his chest and when she kissed his cheek. Byakko's cool stare could be misleading as he turned his attention back to Erica.
"So let me see if I understand this correctly: You love to torture because of that empty part in your soul and as long as you can fill that with the flusterings of others, you are content whereever you are? Well then you will certainly enjoy these lands, but however, I'm sorry, Miss Erica Marie, I may not be the company you are looking for. I do not fluster so easily and seeing as I now watch over dearest Raelen, I will calm down whenever you upset her. I'm terribly sorry to take away your fun."
He bowed his head with a regal politeness that could be taken as kindness. Oh the subtle way Byakko himself had fun. Through his long light blue lockes, that hid away his face from Erica but peeked out at Raelen, he winked to her.

"Sorry ta bust yer bubble, Mr. Bird-Man," she had obviously forgotten his name already and didn't hide that fact, "...but 'm really only interested in tormentin' Raelen." Erica smiled brightly in an innocent manner that was rather creepy. Really, she only had fun when she tormented Raelen, not whoever Raelen was busy doting upon. "An' there is a difference between tormentin' and torturin'. I ain't into the whips an' chains thing."
Raelen smiled at Byakko and a small giggle slipped out, but she quickly recovered by putting a hand over her mouth and coughing. She didn't want Erica to catch on, at least not yet. It would take Erica awhile before she would catch on, simply because her sister really didn't care. "Oh, Byakko," she said sweetly with a secret glint in her eyes as she hugged him close.

"Please, Miss Erica Marie, I do request you use my name as I am hardly a mere 'bird-man'. Allow me to correct my statement then: Whenever you try to 'torment' my dear Raelen, I will be there to make her feel better and so that is less fun for you. I am glad to hear you aren't going to use weaponry in your tormenting because that would be something I might have to stand against." He sat there, looking cool, calm, collected. He could put up quite the front. After all, Byakko found this woman to be childish. "With your inability to torment Raelen, will you turn to others to be found in the tower then to torment?"

"Byakko is my Prince, didn't you figure that out yet, Erica?" Raelen nuzzled Byakko lightly and draped her arms around his neck. She knew that being mushy and lovey-dovey would make her sister feel sick, and then she'd leave. Oh, how Raelen did have a secret little mean streak to her that hardly anyone knew about.
"No. I don't torment random people, that's no fun," Erica said with a grunt. "An' I fergot yer name, so Bird-man will do fer now." A sickened look fell over Erica's face at seeing her sister nuzzle the said bird-man, and drape her arms around him. Ew. Gross. This was just...too much for her. "If ya excuse me, 'm gonna go throw up a hair ball or somethin'," she said in a disgusted voice before turning to quickly disappear.

"The name, Miss Erica Marie, is Byakko. Please feel free to ask any time your memory fails you as I have no quams of repeating myself." The hawk elder smiled to Raelen, whispering to her quietly, "You're so mean to her." seeing Erica's look of disgust. He then smiled to the sister and waved. "I hope you feel better and recover quickly from your illnesses of hairballs!" He then chuckled and smiled to Raelen, kissing her cheek as he hugged her tightly. "See, wasn't that bad was it, Love?"

Raelen smiled and watched as her sister disappeared, before turning her emerald eyes back towards Byakko. A small giggle escaped her and she shook her head. "Well, she does deserve it. I think I was pretty nice to her, for putting up with the years of 'tormenting,' as she calls it." The feline said, purring softly as she held her arms around Byakko, laughing lightly at his words after her sister had left. Tail swishing and wrapping around her own waist, she purred quietly at the kiss to her cheek and tight hug. "No, that wasn't so bad at all...But that's only because you were here with me."

BYakko let out a deep sigh and rested his head on her chest, eyes closed. "I really don't care much for your sister. I think she has good intentions but she is rather obnoxious to me personally. However, she seems very different from you. How are you two related again?"

Raelen smiled lightly and nodded while absent-mindedly twirling a damp strand of his hair around her fingers. Turning her green eyes to Byakko, she nodded her head. "Yes, we are very different...You get used to her after a while, I suppose." The feline's ears twitched and she closed her eyes for a moment before responding to his last question. "I was adopted by her family. Odd bunch, but...they're the only family I've ever known. I love them."

Byakko smiled to her. "Then we really should invite her to the wedding shouldn't we? Do you have any other members of your family that you would like to attend?" He was always intrigued by her past, but he was never one to pry too much. A simple question was enough for him. He carressed her back softly. He still had to find her a proper ring.
