Mind wandering as the smaller of the two regained her senses and balance, Kitwana began trying to get a feel for the area, the lack of familiarity doubly disconcerting as the shadows lengthened, confusing his senses. Nonetheless, he feared stopping for anything now, and his companion would not long survive in these conditions.
They could not be far from some border, the harshest desert lay around and behind them, and even in a confused state, the slave's many trips about the kingdom had imprinted a map on his mind's eye. Wherever they were, Jua was found behind them, and a border could not be far off- but which border he could not be sure. His suspicions were that of the Pridelanders, however, and their only hope lay in the minute possibility of water and food ahead. If nothing else, the sky darkened before them, and not from the threads of night sewing their blanket. Clouds were forming, and the peaked senses of a hunter sensed the dancing electricity on the wind. A storm lay in wait, and in a storm was the promise of water.

Eyeing the weak figure of Dama, the adolescent showed a rare moment of consideration, waiting to see her steady herself before setting off at a slowed pace, dead ahead through the trough. The younger lion would not cope well ascending the sides, and he could rise and play sentry in the breaks he suspected she would need. Hopefully he had put enough distance between himself and the king to allow for safe travel at a dulled pace, and with so many years of inactivity, he doubted that any of the royal party could catch up to him swiftly, what little muscle he had had been trained to endure, and used to constant movement.

Checking once more that the young lioness was moving, Kitwana lumbered through the sandy abyss, the valley seeming to stretch for what would be a good hours' journey at this pace, with more desert to cross afterwards. Staying close to ensure his companion's balance, he walked in silence, mind too full of childhood lost and the threat of death to allow for conversation.

Teule gave Woko a playful expression of fear, growling and taking the tackle. Taka stopped for a moment and stretched her back and claws, also thinking how funny they must look to any other's eyes. A cheetah, roaming around with two lion cubs of her own and a fox that had adopted her cub's brother. If she were in another position and watching from the sidelines she would of surely been laughing her tail off.

Teule flexed his claws and nudged Wokovu. He seemed to be leering at Taka's ever flexing and flicking tail that would probably be fun to claw at. Teule smirked at Woko and then looked at Yakuti's tail.

"That looks fun, no? But then your mom's tail is extra fluffy."

Yakuti stopped as well plopping to a sit, quite a happy little fox as her stomac hadn't been this full in months.

Wokovus eyes slitted and locked onto the large cats tail, slowly shifting in rythem with the tail almost in a trance. The little cubs claws flexed with some sort of desire.. ohh the temptation. He pulle dhis head away to look once again at his brother nodding "Yea. Moms is normally dead though." he glanced back at the lifeless tail curled around the fox, then returned his attention. "and.. the one time i did attack it she got mad." he gave a slight concerened look, he wasn't one for getting in trouble.. well ok maybe he was. but he had allready done that once in the last 24hours.

Taka's tail looked as if it were begging them to take a leap or bite out of it from the way it was twitching and curling, it was driving Teule crazy for sure. Teule remembered thes time when he did try to tame the wild tail and it had escaped unscathed, alsmot as if it had a mind of it's own and new that it was being plotted against.

"G'head, I don't think she'll mind though I should warn ya, I've never been able to catch it."

The cub looked at the tail hoping he was right and that it acctually was ok. "Well if you say so.." he said, not all there now locked in a trance of the evil genious of a tail. he crouched down slowly stalking up on it then jumping at the tail, missing and falling to the side stumbling a moment before falling on his side. He gave a light growl to the tail and lunging again. Again he missed and fell. He quickly pulled himself to his paws frowning in thought at the tail. He then stood padding over to it sitting infront of it and pawing at it, again it dodged.. and then again. and again.
by the time this was done it was on his hind legs trying to balance and catch the tail growling at it.

Teule was copying his brother's movement in excitement, coaching his brother from behind. Taka's tail was overly active and bopped Wokovu straight on the nose and then on his cheek. Taka was laying down lazily since they had founf a safe place to rest in a dry thicket next to a tree that would surely provide some shade in the morning.

"Just-just claw it, man it's fast, maybe get on the side of it no the other side!"

"I'm trying!" the poor little cub kept going at it, trying to do as his brother was coaching "gah this is really hard." he clawed again reaching too high after it, falling onto this back sending up a small cloud of duster.. dusty sand... yea.

Yakuti watched her 'child' humored by the two cubs attempting to get the tail. Though she wondered how her new temporary companion had managed to keep her tail away without thinking about it.

Taka was drifting off to sleep, eyes closing one and a time, her small black brows trying to hold up her eyelids. She gave Yakuti a tired, one eyed smile. Teule couldn't help himself and joined his brother in the attack, his claws extended, and tried his hand er paw at swatting at the tail only to miss multiple times. Taka caughed and rose a brow at the two before returning her attention to Yakuti.

"It seems we're in a bit of predicament. Since we and them are aware that they are siblings perhaps...it would be better if we...stuck together? I don't think it right to seperate the boys for um whatever reasons."

Taka gave a confused smiling trying to word herself correctly. She was thinking that the fox might want to leave due to well fear of her, afterall she was her prey and had it not been for the cub she wouldn't have given a second though about eating her. It was just the way of life. And it might benefit the fox also, haning out with a cheetah and all.

Yakuti smiled, wide awake dispite the fact she had been awake most of the day, ti didn't phase her. The darkness, the soft noises of bugs, the cool night desert air.. all of it just made her feel so blissful. Anyways back to reality.. she glanced around at their surroundings dubbing herself lookout. She spotted the two brothers and snickerd to herself.

Wokovu tried to help his brother "no no left, no! my left!" he tried to attak once more accidentally colliding headfirst with the other cub somehow bouncing off of him,(look rubber skulls) and falling on his back once more with a 'oof'

Yakuti looked a bit worried but figured the two would be fine, they were children.. they survive anything. She looked at the carnivore looking thoughtful.. She could eat her anytime their food was low, afterall she'd make a nice snake herself.. what if she was just beign fattened up?! she grimanced alittle but sighed "Yes i think that would be a good idea.. but.. what about the whole nocturnal ..thing.." she had decided no one was that heartless, except mabe some of the lions out here.. but the cheeta seemed nice. Even herself wouldn't eat a bug after beign friendly to it.

Edit sad ( sorry that took so long o_O i was mad at a friend of mine..gave away the ending of a game i hadn't beaten yet.))

"Well, that could be a teeny problem but I don't really have a set time I sleep and am awake so I think I could overcome that. Besides the hunting is much better at night."

Taka smiled, eyes closed sleepily as she spoke, yet her tail was wide awake and still doging the cubs wildly. Teule tried following his brother's orders and finally clawed the tail, pinning it down to the ground. Taka's reaction was very scary indeed. The feline leapt up into the air with a screech and clutched her tail, glaring around behind her only for her gaze to fall distastefully upon the brothers.

"What was that for?!"

Teule blinked and grinned sheepishly, hoping his brother had a nice little excuse since he was to scared to even talk. Oh yea, he was in trouble.

[>.o Gah, hate when that happen ;B]

Jasi watched the two boys pouncing and fighting, trying to grab at the tail. She wanted to join in, but she had felt too tired. When she heard Taka yell she knew the two were in trouble, and that Teule didnt know what to say. She got up and stood next to the boys. "They were just practicing there hunting Taka, so they could become strong and fast like you."she said with a pitifull smile "They didnt mean any harm, and I dont think they'll do it again, right?" she looked at the two boys, and while Taka wasnt looking, winked at them.

Wokovu had a breif second of triumph, and then the fear. he slouched ears pinning back against his head "i-uh-well." was all he could get out, he looked quite paniced paws fidgiting nerviously, and his eyes glancing this way and that probably in hopes of somewhere they could flee.

Yakuti sighed watching them, and decided to let the atacked cheeta handle it.

Wokovu shook a bit, hoping the same that his brother had an excuse as well. But to no avail, he surely thought he was donefor when the other female cub that had been silent this whole time finnally came foreward and spoke up. His little eyes lit up with a spark of hope at the sign of the ew-cooties-girl as she gave them an excuse "Yea thats it." he chimed in nodding vigorously when asked if he wouldn't do it again.

[>.o Grr, short ;B sowwy]

Taka rubbed her tail protectively and eyes the three carefully, she wasn't as angry as she was amused, especially since the boys were scared witless. She lay down again and this time wrapped her still lively tail around her, retreating from the cubs claws.

"I suppose so but next time at least don't use your claws!"

Wokovu nodded to her "ok!" he sat there for a few moments silently, trying to think of what to do now, and while sitting still his sleepyness caught up with him. He yawned a bit eyes going half shut then shaking his head trying to snap himself out of it. He didn't want to go to bed yet.. he could play ..more.. he yawned again as his thoughts started to get slow he shook his head again and looked to the girl adn his brother "so whatcha.." yawn ".. Wanna do now?"

Taka closed her eyes, ears priced and on the watch so to speak. She knew the cubs would fall asleep whether they liked it or not. Teule stretched, his little claws unfurling to their full length. He plopped on his belly, speaking and yawning at the same time.

"I..dunno..."
