Gaius smirked despite his still low mood. Trust the penguin-boy and his mood swings, angry to ecstatic in less than sixty seconds.
Gripping the pen as best he could manage, Gaius signed the cast, a bit larger and far more wobbly than his normal handwriting, but at least it was legible. Alas, his architect-quality handwriting would never be the same after this.
"There!" he said, capping the pen and handing it back to Marshall. "Now, was that all you came over to bother me about, or had you planned the face-grabbing too?"

"I...I actually just wanted an excuse to drop by...Well, I just hadn't seen you in a while, y'know? You're always working or some thing now a days." Marshall shrugged, "B-But I came to tell you that I met the blond-haired girl! Her name is Sophie! You wouldn't believe it, she wanted to apologize to me! I told her I'd give some sketches and what was walking on sunshine. Guess I am good for some thing after all, neh?" Marshal said with a smile. He wished he had an excuse to just hang out with Gaius, but now that was out of the way, he probably had to head home so Gaius could mope about his changes.
"And I'll have you know the bandage-grabbing thing was an accident!"

"Hey, hey, you don't need an excuse to drop by when you want... You just happened to have bad timing today." The pegasus gave a snort and listened as Marshall spoke. "Sophie, eh? I'm glad you two were able to make up, she seemed really torn-up after that incident in the cafeteria!"
Vixen, who was growing tired of being ignored, thrust her cold nose against the back of Marshall's legs and moved to stand on the side of his good arm, clearly demanding some attention. Her master shook his head and smirked. "I guess I needed to give them up eventually anyways... can't keep up the shaving either, it seems, since I killed my last razor this morning. Still, was hoping you wouldn't have to see this until it was under better circumstances - still, could be worse."

"Seriously Gaius...Bandages? You do realize you looked like some sort of giant, square-headed mummy, right?" Marshall giggled, once again rubbing Vixen's head with his mitten-flipper hand. She was such a sweet little dog, not like Dancer or Danber or whatever Amaya's dog's name was.
"Why didn't you want me to see ya, any way?" Marshall asked, rubbing Vixen behind her ears.

"Hey! At least bandages I can change. This face... well, aside from shaving, which obviously hasn't done a lot of good, not so much." He scratched at the underside of his large, long chin to emphasize the point. "I guess... I guess I was embarrassed. It's hard, especially after I'd been arguing with Zach just a few days prior and got upset when he said I wasn't 'human.' I of course said otherwise, and still think it, but... it's a hard blow when something like this comes along, you know? How will anyone even know I was human other than that I walk on two legs and have patches of skin? I dunno..." He lowered his head and sighed.

"Oh, c'mon Gaius. Of course you're human. Just 'cause you don't look the part doesn't mean you're not. You stil speak human," he listed, instead of saying 'English' for some odd reason, "You own a dog- man's best friend- you walk on two legs, and well...You just are, alright? And besides, Zach's a freakin' retard." Marshall said, sure as he was with every thing.

Gaius snorted again, but this time in amusement, and finally cracked a smile. "Yeah, I guess you're right... It's just hard to feel that way sometimes. But that's why I have people like you around! You're good for something other than annoying me at least," he teased.
"And how do I know you're not just humoring me, huh?" He neared Marshall and grabbed him in a sudden head-lock, rubbing his hand into the penguin man's scalp in a playful noogie.

"Ow! Hey! C'mon! No fair!" Marshall exclaimed with a tiny giggle as he was pulled into the unexpected head-lock and noogie. He'd be the first to admit that noogie by the way of a hoof was more uncomfortable than a fist, but still, the fraternal affection was still there and unwavering.

He let Marshall go after a moment, giving him one last pat on the head before kneeling to give Vixen a pat on the back. Even kneeling, he was only short of Marshall by a head or so, probably less now with the ears.
"You know, we need to have another movie night. Maybe grab Liamh and Oz too... and Lucas. He's a nice guy. Just something to do together... when I'm feeling better, that is."

Marshall looked at Gaius, who was barely shorter than him down on his knees. This was probably the first time he honestly noticed how tall Gaius actually was. He smiled at Gaius' proposition.
"Yeah...Yeah, I'd like that."

With a final pat on her head, Gaius stood back up. Despite having been 'brought out,' he was glad his friend had stopped by. At least the guy was supportive, even if a bit blunt and clumsy. His mood was lifted a little, and after a change, that was a welcome thing.
"Well, I suppose I should look into actually getting back to some of my woodwork... if I can. Remember to visit again, okay? Otherwise I'll have to come pound down your door or something!"

"Heh heh, alright. But make sure you don't work yourself sick or any thing." Marshall said with a light smile. He wasn't sure if maybe it was because they just kind of had a "moment" or if he just though Gaius needed it, but Marshall put his good arm around Gaius, and gave him a light hug. He let go quickly, of course, just like his last hug.
"...Thought you needed that." Marshall chuckled.

Gaius blinked in surprise as the guy grabbed him around the waist in a hug. A slow smile spread across his wide mouth and he ruffled Marshall's hair as the penguin pulled away.
"Thanks," he said, meaning it.

"Heh heh...So, I'll catch ya later. Kinda hard not to, I do live like 20 feet away." Marshall chuckled, pocketing his Sharpie pen and heading towards the door.
"You keep him out of trouble, alright?" Marshall said to Vixen as he opened the door, a slight drizzle pouring down. Oh well, he'd just have to get the other signatures later.
