Saminoz began to stir as he slowly came to. His vison was blinded by a strong light. It slowly dimmed down as everything became blurry. His ears were ringing. "Uhhh... Where am I...?" He said softly with the most utter most confusion and completely oblivious to the fighting, the chaos, the carnage, and the destruction. He rolled a bit realizing he was in a trench and beside him was a gun. "What is going on?" He was became still trying to put the pieces back togetherin his head. "Am I in heaven?" He smiled slightly thinking he was at the pearly white gates. Right as this image came to mind an explosion went of right next to him. " Oh Crap!" ((Keeping the word usage PG-13.))His memory quickly shot back at him, his vision became clear seeing blue blood splatter across the visor with his hearing blating back due to the explosion. It became very clear to him that he was not in Heaven infact he was quite opposite from there. He looked up from the trench as a Tank was within 10 meters of him. He feel back down. Tapping the COM. " This is Staff Sergant Mayville..."He let let out a loud cough from the smoke that swept over him. "Can anyone here me?" Not sure if his COM was still working.

(( I assumed you were smart enough to use some kind of cover so...yeah, and I saw crates in my mind and morphed them into ammo boxes. That and covies were loading supplies. xd ))

((Fair enough lol.))

((Umm...waiting on that Spartan's arrival...is that going to be happening anytime soon?))

Phoenix nodded in response to the marine, then getting restless himself, groaned angrily. "That's it. He has two minutes, then we are going to advance into the hangar, probably killing ourselves in the assault. Hey, at least it's action. Marines don't undergo harsh training to sit by and knit tea cosies." Discharging his weapon, Edwards ended the life of a grunt foolish enough to stick its head around the corner.

[Sorry for the small post guys, I'm really busy.]

The Spartan finished off a few oncoming grunts with a couple bursts from his MA6K. There seemed to be artillery raining down on the Covenant with pinpoint precision, something only a Spartan could do. Leito shoved himself down behind his cover, peeping over the edge just a little bit. He focused his view on the top of a hill and zoomed in, seeing a tank with a person in the c**k pit. "This is Spartan-zero-one-niner requesting immediate air support on those damned wraiths. Give our Spartan friend a hand."

Sergent Jenkins turned to face the marine who had just spoken. His helmets Eye Piece IDed him as Second LT Phoenix. "Sir!" The Sergent Jumped to attention more out of shock of noticing the gold bar of Second LT on his uniform. "Sorry for my lack of respect Sir! I didn't see your rank Sir."

In the middle of his frighteningly successful attack, he heard a small beeping, warning him of some form or another of incoming fire. He managed to switch to the external camera on the turret just in time to be blinded by an increasingly bright light. A wave of pressure suddenly washed over him as he felt the cockpit of the tank burning around him, every warning sound blaring at him now. He immediately opened up the somewhat molten hatch above him, noting its red color between the dark dots that grew within his vision. The Spartan realized all the oxygen had left his lungs at some point as he stumbled from the slowly melting tank, collapsing onto the relatively cool ground beside the Scorpion and gasping for air. He found himself staring up at the decently cloudy sky, noting tiny explosions beyond them before glancing at his shield bar. It hadn't even dropped a quarter before it began recharging, the sweltering heat apparently not being enough to ruin his new armor. He gave his silent thanks before quickly standing once more, instantly getting his BR55 and checking to see if it had been damaged or not. He again thanked whatever deity was watching over him as he found it to be in working order, before taking one more quick look at the sky and heading out to throw himself at the Covenant.

((You? Apologise? There shouldn't ever be any occasion where that would be appropriate; you own a HALO guild, and therefore are a god among mortals! biggrin 3nodding ))

Phoenix sighed, a little frustrated at the situation. "We're in a battle, marine. My rank doesn't matter all that much when in a gunfight; officers die in exactly the same way as enlisted personnel do, you know. Besides, you showed me enormous respect just by saving our behinds!" He paused, smiled, then proceeded to check all human COM channels for any information about the fight above.

The E-brakes slipped Coop into the cover the other fellow marines were using. The young Gunnery Sargent didn't pay much attention to the whole hangar, he was too disoriented. The automatic turret attached to the back of the 'Hog joggled to a halt as it hung out of cover.
" Anyone up for some target practice?"

Saminoz heard no conformation from the COM which meant that his bladder wasn't the only thing to blow up from the tank explosion."Dang, I need help and fast." Saminoz slowly peeked up from the hole not wanting to to lose his head to another tank shell. He took a glnace at his surrounding. He saw some Marines to the west a good 30 yards out. If only it had been closer, because 30 yards is a long sprtin when you are being shot at. "Where is that infernal tank when you need it." He said under his breath. He looked right behind him. The tank had gone right by them. How could it go right by the hanger without noticing their struggle? It didn't matter.... All that did matter was that he needed to get to that tank ASAP. As soon as the thought came another huge explosion came. He ducked his head back into the trench. "Wow!" He looked back out. This time the explosion didn't come from the tank. The tank was the explosion. It came about 25 yards away. He looked again as a marine... No no.... A Spartan! A Spartan was crawling out of the tank! Without thinking he put his Br-55 on his back and jumped out of the hole and made a mad dash to the tank. His heart was racing.(No pun intended.) Sweat was running down his head as he was almost there. without about to go he saw a Jackle with Beam Rifle. He knew exactly who he was aming at. He slid into the tank right as the shot skimmed over his head. "And he's safe!" He smiled from ear to ear. "This should serve as cover for the time being." He stood up behind the tank. He pulled out his Br and let of one burst right between the eyes of the Jackle.

He glanced at his motion sensor as he ran for their main defenses, noticing a friendly was near his ruined tank. He was glad it could still be of use as cover as he made a mad dash for their front lines, which definitely needed his assistance. Automatic rifles and plasma weapons filled the air with constant sound, eventually turning into white noise for all who listened. Frag grenades detonated, spraying any targets nearby with shrapnel. Plasma grenades flash, melting armor, flesh, and bone, causing them to fuse fatally for most victims. The distant sounds of sniper fire could be heard by the trained ear, while LAAG turrets opened up on wave after wave of expendable Covenant.

A wall of green held the enemy back, as well as the occasional black and grey of special operations units holding the line as they fired from behind any cover they came across. Wrecked frames of Warthogs that hadn't survived the initial attack, easily movable combat barriers, as well as supply canisters served as protection from the lances of energy. In the midst of all this carnage and destruction, appearing from a distance as a tall and bulky ODST, Spartan-108 sprinted out in the open to reach his allies. The muzzle of his rifle flred, looking more like a flicker compared to the explosions around him, as he advanced to the closest steel barricade.

(( Well since we are both on I guess I'll post again.)) Saminoz saw the Spartan advance farther into the battle. He didn't know if even one Spartan could survive on his own in the heart of the battle. The good thing was that if he died he could give him a bit longer to live while they focused on him and if he lived then he could aid him in anyway possible. Saminoz stepped backed momentarily to reload his BR then stepped out jumping over the side of the tank leg and took off behind the Spartan shooting at a group of Elites. As he merged forward he was almost taken out by a plasma rifle shot which grazed his cheek but that was not enough to slow him down. He looked in the direction of the shot while striffing seeing an Elite. He unloaded five burst into the Elites neck and head taking him to the floor ending him. He reloaded and continued after the Spartan.

Master Sergeant Matsuo Yutrzenika went through one clip after another as he fired from cover, thanking himself for stopping by the armory when he'd first heard there was trouble brewing above them. He gladly slid a fresh magazine into his newly acquired MA5C, having gotten it from the armory as well. He made use of the improved MA5 model on his closest target, another of the Brute race. The creature fired its rapidly overheating Plasma Rifle, the energy splattering against the barrier in front of him and partially melting the solid metal, while he unloaded into the hulking mass. The swarm of rounds tore into the, ripping flesh and muscle as it roared with rage. With no hope to find cover in his exposed position, it soon fell under the impact of several bullets upon its thick skull. The ODST immediately hid behind his shield once more, casually checking his ammo count on the small digital screen of his rifle.

He soon realized just how much the constant combat had affected his perception, having not sensed or heard anything from the Spartan that now took cover beside him, noting yet nother Marine running in from the same direction. He armored soldier was busy firing his rifle over the top edge of their long, steel barrier. He easily noticed how his shielded suit now had a grey coating, wondering about the reasoning behind the change. Matsuo soon spotted his number as well, seeing it etched into the back of his helmet, at the very base in small figures. Spartan-108. The Marine had seen this warrior before, though he'd never actually spoken to him, or even fought along side him.

He'd first encountered a Spartan on Theta Halo, though it could have been one of the others assigned to their ranks on the Titan. He saw this Spartan in particular when they fought within the colony, knowing so because he'd seen his number then as well. Matsuo often remembered such random details. He took his eyes off of the soldier and looked back at the field in time to catch a foolish Grunt in the head with a burst of fire, the thing actually attempting to rush their lines from their makeshift cover. The Covenant had set up a few of their strange anti-gravity towers, and they were getting some trouble from sniper fire. They had also bothered to set up their own barricades a good thirty yards from theirs while sacrificing hundreds of their own as distractions, making their lines of defense clear on both sides. He decided to save his thoughts on the Spartan for later as he focused on their battle for control, which now seemed to be in their favor when it boiled down to numbers and vehicles.

Colonel Chenault sighed with slight frustration as he and his command team struggled to track every single Covenant soldier that managed to sneak past their forces. Only special operations and camoflaged units made it further into the base, and most of them were met with heavy resistance. They had split up their main forces for this specific purpose. The nearly one-thousand Marines out at their main line of defense were those sent down from the UNSC ships above, while the other thousand or so that weren't out there were already stationed at his base. They were all housed securely within each installation within the base walls.

The Covenant that slipped by, which formed into small groups to infiltrate a needed facility, were put down with ease. Most of the enemy, however, converged on his command center, looking to rip out the heart of Belfast. The majority of his guard units were also here, though numbers don't always ensure victory. This particular building was basically a large tower, which also branched outward below the surface and connected with the other buildings. That section could easily be sealed off completely from Covenant forces, but he and his men at the top of the tower were left with few options in the way of retreat.

His units below, sadly, were slowly being picked off by an increasing number of invisible enemies. The Marines on guard moved from one cramped position to another, praying they wouldn't be greeted by a Plasma Sword. Kenneth heard distant firefights below him, hoping the sounds wouldn't get any closer to them. They could definitely set up HQ elsewhere, but he didn't feel like going through the trouble during combat. He switched over to their base-wide COM channel and listened to the mixed commands and requests. Some were asking for more air support, clearly being at their front lines, while others hunted down some of the camoflaged enemies in the immediate area, coordinating with one another and cornering each one.

The flow of these cloaked Elites, however, wasn't slowing so far. Only more seemed to be 'appearing', while he couldn't say the same for his Marines. If this kept up, they'd eventually be overrun and have to fight to get out. He quickly switched over to a team-based COM, that of the ODST squad from the Titan he'd sent out to set off those explosives. He spoke calmly as he decided to make his orders quick and clear. "Get back to HQ now. You're on defense. Watch out for camo-Elites." He let out yet another sigh of frustration, before going back to his attempt at locating the stray Covenant they needed to put down.

Saminoz continued running as he was following the Spartan. Thoughts came to him such as why the heck was he following this guy into the belly of the beast. The only problem was there was no secound guessing because he couldn't dare go back and get shot running away. As they continued running his HUD showed him 5 enemies to his north east. He looked seeing the tip of a grunt . He didn't bother wasting a shot so he threw a grenade right over the hill. When it exploded he heard the grunts screaming. That was a good sign they were dead. He contined to follow.

Jenkins relaxed a bit "Oh, well, your welcom sir. And what was this I heard about running in this here hanger, shootin covies, and killin our selfs in the process?" The Sergen peeked around the corner to see a grunt explode in a blue flame.

Phoenix raised an eyebrow at Jenkins, replying, "Oh, just an idea I had for a good party. However, seeing this fine beauty," he stated, looking at the now stationary warthog, "I don't think there'll too many marine deaths. Anyone here an especially good shot with a hog turret? I'm sure as hell that a grunt'd do better than I could." Looking around at his comrades, Phoenix waited a few seconds for someone to volunteer.
