For Vincent, I say Tifa.

Heh, you stole MY line! Heheh, just kidding, Ms. Foxboy.... Weird name for a lady...

But, as for the VincenTifa, I see a few people with that couple in mind. Two very famous examples are Youkai-Yume, who is also a Sess/Kag, who loves VincenTifa to death. Another is my good friend Sephiroth, have to call him that because he never gave out his real name, who also supports this coupling...
Why? I guess it's two reasons really... They are both, in a sense, bad-a**. Vincent is the demonic gunslinger while Tifa is the girl who'll beat you up but help bandage your wounds later on.
Now, as for chemistry... Tifa, in some people's eyes, is the only one patient enough to be able to get inside of Vincent. I think Yuffie can, too, but that's beyond my case right now... Vincent is really cold and stotic when you meet him, and Tifa would be able to be a good friend to him with her sincere heart and her undying love, man. Same thing with the AerIcents... Man that is a bad name...
Anyhow, Tifa could, in theory, break through to him and be able to make his heart warm again. And even if he still stayed a bit cold, she'd be the one to be with him.

So....

Vincent's heart semi-cold - Tifa (Friend)
Vincent's heart cold - Lucercia (Lover)
Vincent's heart warm - Yuffie (Bodygaurd/Friend/Lover) or Aeris (Older Brother Figure)

And that's what I got to say about that...

yuffie:From the start, when they first met, I don't think Vincent had a very good first impression of her. She was too childish, too hyper and there was just something really fishy about her. He disapproved of her actions and was quite suspicious of her ("There's something unnatural in the way Yuffie's acting…"). His suspicions were confirmed when Yuffie stole their Materia and some other objects. This didn't help the fact that Vincent doesn't like her already and just makes him find her even more annoying, untrustworthy and immature.

Yuffie also found him old and boring. I mean, look at what she says! "Thats okay, it was probably depressing anyway." or "Ok. Boring story no 1" and "Huh? Oh great just what I needed." when Vincent joins. That doesn't seem very friendly to me at all. She might not have been serious, but I don't think Vincent appreciates her "jokes" very well.

At the very beginning, I don't think Vincent liked her very much. In fact, he didn't like ANYONE, for that matter. However, as the game progressed, Vincent really warmed up to her. He started sharing his feelings ("...So glad you're alright, Tifa") and showed obvious care for her. He talked to her more than everyone else (maybe because she makes him feel comfortable?).

Tifa never 'looked down' on Vincent, and never called him names and stuff. Instead, she tried to get him to talk to her. They even got closer to each other when Cloud was gone, and they talked and all. Both of them have quite a lot of similarities. Both love, but are not loved in return, and both are quite uncomfortable at sharing their feelings, especially of love. I think Tifa, like Vincent, also hides behind a mask, except hers is a happy mask, while Vincent pretends to be cold and emotionless.

I quite like this pairing and I think they are really compatible. While Vincent is cold and depressing, Tifa is warm and cheerful. Isn't this always the case in dramas? I love this pairing very much, so much that I can't imagine another pairing, really. I can't bear the sight of Tifa and Cloud together... Neither do I like Aeris and Vincent and all those. If I ever do read fanfictions, it's ALWAYS Vincent and Tifa. It's actually a very good pairing and I don't think they'll drive each other mad at all.

Picture this. It is the end of the game and Cloud has left Tifa again to go look for Aeris for the gazillionth time. Tifa is sick and tired of this. She wants stability. She wants comfort. And she's not getting it from Cloud. She's sad and lonely after he leaves, hurt again for the 1738934th time by Cloud and she's depressed that he doesn't return her love. She meets Vincent, somehow, by chance and he's still the same, brooding over Lucrecia and they look at each other, and they just click. I mean, it's so perfect. She's sad, he's sad, they can comfort each other! It's so sweet. Plus, they look really good together. Go on, think about it. They do, don't they? You have to admit. Yes, I really love this pairing. biggrin VinTif all the way!
aeris:They do not interact very much throughout the game. Aeris felt a little pitiful for him when she discovered what he went through, being the caring person that she was, although she did find it a little strange that he was still moaning over the past. Vincent, while he disapproved of some of her actions, had something nice to say about her after her death. They do not really talk as Vincent does not really know her. I don't recall them actually speaking to each other directly at all.
While this pairing isn't the most popular, I can actually see this happening. They may be polar opposites, with Vincent being cold and depressing, while Aeris is definitely quite the optimist, but this relationship could actually work. Aeris will force her way into his life and will attempt to open him up, just like she did with Cloud. She will not back down even if he refuses to talk to her, that's how she is, extrememly determined and strongwilled. Aeris is terribly direct and likes to move on, and may disapprove of the way he's always brooding over things of the past, while Vincent may not like the way she handles problems. (She tends to be quite a liar sometimes) Besides these not-so-minor differences though, it could happen. However, for this to work, Aeris has to actually be alive, and Cloud has to be gone from the picture, as Aeris is obviously far too interested in Cloud at the moment, and Vincent is still brooding over Lucrecia. And, besides, getting this relationship to work will be hard, especially since Aeris is pretty much dead.

I like the fact that you put up a lot of defense for VincenTifa, but don't be acting like it's the "one true fact."
And as for Cloud looking for Aeris, the guy is sorta like Vinny in a way, Bro. I mean, I'm sure you've played DoC. Vincent, despite her death, still visits Lucrecia's grave almost everyday he can. The only difference between the two is that Vincent knows where Lucrecia is, and Cloud doesn't know where Aeris is.
It's just a way of mourning, although he takes it to the extreme, he is just mourning the death of a close friend that he felt he could have prevented. He should learn to move on like VinVin, I say that a lot, and when he does, I can see the CloTi coupling working a lot.

And Bro, look at the frickin evidence in DoC. Though they did not, as in your words, have a very good "first" impression, they still grew close and became really good friends. I mean, when Yuffie saves Vincent and starts to talk to him, you can see how much she had matured since their first meeting. She also gets very flustered when Vinny says 'Thank You,' another sign that she has gained a sense of humility and maturity.
Vincent also cares deeply for Yuffie. When she was sucked into the dark void when Nero attacked her, he blindly jumped into it to grab her and take her out. He potentially risked his life to save her, and if he only found her as an annoying pest, he wouldn't have done that.

Even at the end, the normal end, Yuffie is the most concerned for Vincent's safety. She still believes he is alive, even though they have no proof that he is, and jokes around by saying "he better get here soon."
See, bad first impression, but a friendship grew. Had to grow, all of DoC wouldn't make sense if they didn't.
Now, I'm not telling you to quit being a VinTif and become a Yuffentine. I just ask the same respect that I'm giving you, and not tell me to change my sig, aight?
