I play both Necrons and Marines, i find Marines to be more over-powered than anything else. Necrons are a perfect balance...especially with 3 fulls squads of warriors, that are close enough to get rapid fire X_x oh my...such destruction...so beautiful lol. Well that doesnt prove my point. But yes. Necrons get the shorter end of the stick, but they make up for it in many other ways.

As to your army list, i quite like it, it seems to be rounded off nicely. Hopefully with the right tactics you can crush your enemy.

How do necrons get the shorter end of the stick?
Marines and Crons are similar in points costs.
Crons get back up when hurt, have a larger squad number, all of their guns can easily kill marine armor.
Marines can ONLY have up to 10 men to a squad, for the most part are armed with bolters, and the only weapons guarunteed to KILL a Necron is a heavy one worth twice as much as the marine itself.
I fail to see how the Necrons have the short end of THAT stick.

Alright, I have a question on the necrons, I'm relatively new to this game and a friend of mine told me that other models were created after their codex came out, he mentioned something about a model in the shape of a crescent moon or something, then mentions something about forge worlds....I was wondering what he was talking about and where I could find a picture of this "model".

I think he is talking about the Necron... damn, just forgot the name. Just go forgeworld.co.uk and look under the Imperial Armour page, then go under necrons, its there. Goodluck!

one way necrons get the short end of the stick is they only have 36" range, only the lord can take the better war gear and then he costs alot can necron warroirs have heavy weapons NO. also if you think that necrons are overpowerd look at this do space mareins get back up when they die no but do they phase out when they have lost 75% of there army no they balance each other out. plus necrons only have 2 initative on most models so they die most of the time in cc befor they get to attack and there cc units suck flayed ones: o yay a 18 point space marine that cant shoot. wraths: 41 points for a 1 wound creature that can only have 3 people max in a squad. and the ctan: 300 points is the min for one of these thats 300 points closer to phase out.

ez way to kill necrons stay out of there range take out there destroyers
phase um out get in cc or kill there lord because without there lord and destroyers there will be very very slow.

um....that doesn't work as well as you would think. The Necron Lord can take a piece of equipment called the Veil of Darkness, allowing him to warp around the field with a squad of Immortals or Warriors, raining death from all over. C'Tan can be dropped, but a buddy of mine discovered really only snipers can pull that off with little risk. 300 pts. well spent in my opinion. Flayed ones deep strike, can normal marines do that? and have the Terrifying Visage Ablity, which I know marines almost never have. Wraiths have a normal armour save and an invun. save, something only Termies and HQs get for the marines. 36' range? Add to that but 12' more, and you have the true range of a Destroyer/Heavy Destroyer. So we Phase Out....we get back up half the time, which is better then Bionics or any other Regen-type ablity. And only Warriors, Immortals, Flayed Ones, Wraiths, Lords, Destroyers/Heavy Desroyers count torward Phase Out.

wow...what a rant. THAT'S why people say the Necrons are overpowered.

wel your wrong about the wraith save they only have a 3 invulnerable i do agree that veil is slitly overpowered but ctan there not all there cracked up to be sure they look cool have some cool abilitys and kick a** in cc but thats it they need to get to cc to do nething and terifing visage isnt very usefull when most armys are fearless or have a high leader ship and when flays deep strike then they cant do any thing for that turn so ether you get them close and hope they live to attack or you deep them far back so not to die but then what they do absolutly nothing. we dont get up half the time when necrons fight like lets say tyranids there rending and tmc's make it so we cant get back up if we die. and about what you said about phase out you completly right only the people that have necron count so you want more of them because when you get down to 25% necrons YOUR whole army goo's Poof and you lose. o ya and the range thing sure they have a operational range of 48" but then they are 12 inches closer to that devostator squad or termy or even the hive tyrant! scream domokun domokun

Umm... about the destroyer range. You say add 12" for their movement to their range, but they have heavy weapons. So if you wanted to fire, you could only move 6"...
PostPosted: Fri Feb 18, 2005 9:32 pm

Wrong you can move and fire with destroyers. normal heavy wepons cant move and fire.

see no reason to upgrade necron warriors, theyre overpowered as it is -.-''

if you lose 75 percent of your force your not going to win anyway, best you can do is keep the kind of losing to a limitation, also compensates for those damn resurection orbs -.-''

o no, they only have initiative 2?!?!!? theyll die with their suckage 3+ save, and then stay dead!!!! [/sarcasm]

a wrath,o dear me, a creature which ignores terrain and has S6, that really sucks heavily for 41 points.

geez, you dont play c'tan or any single model of 300 pts in under 2000 pts (atleast not in an army that needs to win).

destroy their destroyers, that'll kill them! o wait, theyres a unit of teleporting necrons getting up my a**, well, i guess i can kill them in close combat with my ws2 tau, seeing they only got innitiative 2!

seriously....

anyway, ive got an upcomming game against necron, 600 pts i know my opponents army (he knows mine aswell).

necron lord
2 wraiths
10 warriors
10 warriors
1 heavy destroyer

now, i play tau, any things i should kill first or other heads ups?

regards
