It would definitely be the french horn section (my section) in our band. People don't understand how hard it is to find a pitch on one, much less keep it in tune- because alot of notes share the same fingering, and octaves and halves have to be thought of in your head before you actually play them or they turn out sounding flat or sharp. This is especially since the french horn uses the most tubing of any instrument (22 feet of it) and has alot of vales, and you have to tune it partly with your hand in the bell. My strings also tend to break weekly on it- I'm a pretty violent key pusher.
I got to listen to two people tell me that the french horns suck today.
What they don't know is that I went from being a top 1st chair clarinet player to a bad french horn player- why? Because the french horn is HARD TO PLAY.

But i know what you mean it's not going from Trumpet to Frenh Horn. s oi kno how you feel.I still get some piches wrong.

The baritones are looked down on most of the time. One is a girl who is just plain annoying. I'm not trying to be mean, but even non-band students think she's a little irritating sometimes. The other is a guy who doesn't really do anything at all.

I extremely dislike the trumpets because they always outshine the other instruments in the band. In a majority of the songs, they always have solos, and they also tend to show-off infront of the audience and mask other sections with their melodies. It gets quite irritating too when I listen to songs that feature trumpet solos, but none which include my beloved clarinet.

Eh...for the most part the band hates the flutes. Period. The whole band and even the directors (but I'm pretty sure the directors only hate us because they're all brass players) hate the instrument. Even us we (My section, the flutes) hate the flute. Every one loves the flutists, just not the flute. Dunno why, thats just sorta how it works...

ehh in our school i think that the uhh i dunno, none of the sections are really hated, The flute s suck wicked.... horn does to ( realizing that herself) clairenets are a huge bunch of the band, saxes are stable, trumpets only have a problem with pushing the tempo, low brass is like invinceable >< and percussion..... is something else

i'm surprised how many ppl said the most annoying is the percussion. honestly, our drumline is awesome. the most annoying for us would be the clarinets (sorry, guys). they squeak too much. last year, it was the saxes because they couldn't march, but they got better..

Treyter I really dislike the Trumpets because they dont know when to stop practicing and they always screw up and start over again, and its irritating... their sound Sux!.... oh and snare's because their too loud, and also have no idea when to stop Aww, so you hate people and instruments who practice? I see. I hate clarinets. No offense, I've heard SOME good players, but for the most part, I think the sound is horrible! I guess its more the player than the instrument, but i havent heard too many good clarinets.

DMZ I extremely dislike the trumpets because they always outshine the other instruments in the band. In a majority of the songs, they always have solos, and they also tend to show-off infront of the audience and mask other sections with their melodies. It gets quite irritating too when I listen to songs that feature trumpet solos, but none which include my beloved clarinet. I totally agree with the solo thing, they overshadow the woodwinds in our marching band, so the flutes and the clarinets end up playing an octave up to be heard, while the pit has to double our parts. It gets really annoying when the instructors choose a trumpet rather than an alto, or other woodwind to play the solo. A LOT of the schools in our division feature a woodwind solo, like none of them had a brass solo. Why can't we just have a woodwind solo for once? And the trumpets in my school happen to think they're the best (they're definitely not). One of the most hated sections of the band, they act all stuck up and refuse to help set up and clean up. They also ditch the set up for things like our awards night, even though they were told in advance to come and help. And they're just overall irritating, 'cause they're never paying attention when given instructions, and just drags the band down overall. We could always use other melodists, we don't really need trumpets that much. There's always the mellophones and high woodwinds to play the melody, low brass and winds with the base, and then the percussionists with the rhythm. Personally, I just wish the trumpets would either change the way they act, or just quit.
