And this is the point where the two worlds conflict. 3nodding
Australian: maths American: math
That's the difference. It's like mobile and cell phone. Only the difference is more..subtle.

I'm not in the mood for working out what that says. First crew member that comes here can edit it if they want. Or f1r3b0ltj00 can him/her self. I'm a little dissapointed in my latest test scores, but then since I missed quite a few lessons of science, that justifys that one. Except for where I read it incorrectly.. I'm just annoyed at my maths semester test..because I interpreted the first sentence wrong..I could have avoided losing so many marks..so easily..Or maybe it's just me..I mean,s ome people would be happy to get around what I got..but I don't think I'll be happy with myself till I get above 90% at least..

Yeah. Usually I'm in the 90% to 96% group, but recently I've been studying more, and I've been getting worse grades. What's up with that?

No idea. But I do know that if you just have a test, with nothing else to do around it, you get better marks. If you have a ton of tests crammed into one or two weeks, you end up only being able to study the night before or so, so you don't end up doing much and/or caring about it. I got 83% on my math(s) semester test..same as Phoebe, but only cause I made a REALLY STUPID INTERPRETATION. It said "If necessary, answer correct to 3 decimal places. For some reason, I thought of that as correct. as in, no rounding. I lost quite a few marks on different question cause of that.... 88% on my science test. It's okay, but bad, for me. My last one was 72 or something, but considering everyone else got around 40-50%, that was okay.. I suppose, I just feel down when I compare to people like Timelady..(who got 95% on her semester test and only lost half a mark on her science one...) Especially when she's just..good at everything.. It's not fair..
*Oh, and thanks. I wasn't particularly in the mood for interpreting chatspeak. I suppose I can't really talk now, since I haven't done any homework today but have worked rahter, on doing something I enjoy. We had a Studio Art theory test today..it was the last test..for awhile. Most likely, we'll fit in a science and a maths test as well by the end of term.

Heck, I normally don't study until the night before. I have good short term memory. It's usually better that way.
Except for end of the trimester exams. That'd be just stupid otherwise.
I beat you. On my last test I got 78%. We tie on science.
But, just to brag, on my last trimester exam for English, I got 99%! biggrin

Fine. Braggin session!!
On my last graded piece of Geography work (not including the test) I got and A+. Under the new grading system. Which means I'm basically about a year ahead. We haven't got our english stuff back yet..but I got 99.5% on my Chinese Reading test. And 99% on the Listening..and something likewise for the writing. The teacher is..harsh. and doesn't always speak clearly. Next time, I'm going to write so small, she can't see any tiny mistakes I may have made. biggrin

What the... I don't even have half of these subjects!
My school doesn't give out A+'s. And I really don't have that much to brag about, which is why I brag about the few things that are worthy.
I once got 100% on a math(s) test. I thought that was pretty hot.
I have a pair of eyes drawn on my left hand right now. I don't think you can beat that, huh?

I don't want to intrude on this conversation but... Wow, you have a lot of subjects Isidar. eek I don't think I could do it. I have the three main subjects, Math, Science, and Language. And then Bible and Socials (which I'm behind in cause I have a huge text book on Canada's history and I'm finding the government stuff boring). And that's about it, I get a bit of P.E. and Art but nothing else. And I never really get less than 80% on any subject. I like language so I get 90-100 on all that stuff (then again I probably should be good at language if I want to be a writer. sweatdrop )

Yay! It's the Bluefuzzy's calss schedule and grades. Thank God it's changing soon... ninja
1st Period: Spanish. My teacher seems to PMS at least two times a month. eek B+ average. 2nd Period: Math(s). My teacher isn't very good at teacher, but she's nice. B to A average. 3nd Period: Music Appreciation!!! Woot! We don't learn anything! 6 people in the entire class, including the teacher. A average. 4th Period: English. I heart my teacher. She's sarcastic, and I like it. twisted A average. 5th Period: Science. It's teh evil!!!!!! I hate it... -DIEDIEDIE- Nice teacher, but REALLY hard. C+ to A average. 6th Period: History. Interesting teacher, he's scared of me. Really. It's also my nap time. B+ to A average. 7th Period: Bible. Also really easy. No thought. No paying attention. Score! Tower: Drama: I don't like it. I don't do squat. Apparently I'm not allowed.
And I do soccer for PE credit. I got Most Improved Player award. I guess that's his way of saying I suck at soccer. And he's right.
I could say other stuff, but I'm hungry. I'm going to eat now.

How can you have a C+ to A average? I don't know my grades yet, we get our reports next week. A daily timetable..we have a fortnight timetable. Friday A is the BEST day of my timetable..and Tuesday B follows close after that. Friday A is because I have English - which is fun.., Maths - in whihc we will have fun, because KB is just..so..random..quite like you, Luna. Then it's tute..which is not so interesting..but it's still a bludge..and you don't do much..and then I have double Multimedia, split over lunch followed by Studio Art!
My subjects: Core/Compulsory: English Accelerated Maths (Yrs 9 and 10 in the one year) Science PE/Swimming - I have one swimming session every wednesday, either period five or six depending on the week and in B week, I have two PE classes. RLS (Religion and Life Studies) - which we really only have one proper lesson every fortnight because during our double on a Tuesday A, we go RLS Visiting.. Health - which is nice and relaxing, mostly. I just finished an anti-drug poster..it was fun to make.. Geography/History: These two interchange, next semester I'm doing History. Geo is fun because the teacher is nice. And I get pretty good grades. We just finished watching 'Outbreak' and we're doing the plague..hehehe..she's showing us part of Monty Python and the Holy Grail tomorrow..and is contempalting showing us The Day After Tomorrow.
Electives: Multimedia - computer graphics, filming, animation etc. VERY fun but KB and I are almost the unofficial student teachers.. I'm doing this for a whole year. Studio Art - also very fun. We are currently doing leadlighting, making glass windows. One semester only, meaning I only have it till the end of next week.. Chinese - well..I had to pick a language. Chinese or French. The teacher loves me..and I pity her..she asked me how to play a cd on a computer..I'm knid of, the technical support in chinese. I usually draw during the lessons, you should see Alex's folder, it's covered with drawings I should trace off.. Both langauges run for the whole year.
Next semester, I'm doing Music. Which will be fun, becuase practically all my friends (well, not really, but quite a few) are in the music class, we get to pick the song for the yr7-9 concert and stuff. It will be cool.
We only get to have three electives going each semester. I feel sorry for the people who choses the subjects where you really have to..work. Communications people had to have an exam..They're usually the ones who end up with loads of homework. I have next to none. It's good.

How, you ask? Trimesters. I'm too asleep to explain. You're semi-smart. Figure it out.
I like veiled compliments. I do it alot.
We haven't gotten the year avergae crap. Or, if you're asking about the fluctuations, there is not explaination other than I'm horrid at science. I mean, what the hell? I don't care about Newton! He sucked! Talk to me about how to make crystel meth!
Not that I'd need to know that... idea
That's the problem with schools. Sure, learnings fine, but we don't learn what we want to know. We learn what THEY want us to know.
