Thorn got up and followed Garren and the lady that he was talking too on the steps, down the hallway. Thorn was still unsure of these people never trusting strangers after he was cursed by one. He went into the common room and saw the bright bird perched on the chair. He continued to inspect the room as he walked to the back of the room and sat on a couch continuing to sharpen and polish his axe. Another lady asked Garren as she called him to join them in the common room. Then another man introduced himself to Garren as Kayoe. Thorn hadn't planed on introducing himself until asked to.

Garren took Kayoe’s hand, breaking eye contact with Adencia, and shook it.
“Garren,” he said, giving Kayoe his name, “Pleasure.”
Short, sweet, and to the point. Brutally so.
“Glad to have you. Any blade is more than helpful on a journey such as this. Though, at times, that depends on the wielder.” He said, eyeing Adencia. She just glared and turned away.
Adencia looked to the two newest guests.
“I don’t believe we have had the pleasure of acquaintance. I am Adencia, and I do believe everyone else can introduce themselves.” She said with a friendly smile towards Tanyeera and Thorn.

Kayoe knew that the last comment was not directed to him, as such he was able to let it slide. Even if his abilities were brought into question, he had learned to take it as only the smallest of insults. It was only after they were seen and still questioned that it became troublesome. While Kayoe had learned to take insults directed at him with little risk of anger, to insult his abilities after they had been seen was to insult the one who taught him. And Kayoe would defend Merinas’ honor at the expense of his own. Kayoe turned to face the newcomers. Kayoe smiled as he introduced himself. “I am Kayoe, it is a privilege to meet you.”

"Tanyeera." she introduced herself, politely setting aside both blade and whetstone. Old habits died hard and the habit of politeness was deeply ingrained in her.

Thorn looked up at the people in the room "My name is Thorn." He went back to polishing his axe listening to the others intently. The axe was clean enought he could see his reflection in it but he kept polishing out of habit. He was sick of being small and wasn't to happy being here with all these strangers. He still didn't know why he was summoned. The rag-tag group of people in the hall didn't look like they had any thing in common with each other. So he just continued polishing waiting for answers.

((Hello. This is a notice to say that I unfortunately won't be able to roleplay till 28th December when I'm coming back from this overseas trip I'm getting dragged on today. Sorry for the inconvenience, if the party goes anywhere or if anything happens, just assume Tanyeera is tagging along ok? Again, really sorry about this.))

Adencia nodded and gave a friendly smile.
“Pleasure.”
Garren was growing impatient and had long since tuned out his sisters nagging voice.
“You said you had questions . . .” he mused, “And this is the only reason why I linger. Please do not waste my time.”
He stared intently at Adencia and gave a small smirk.
“Yes,” Adencia said with a frown, disliking Garren’s tone, “Firstly, when are we leaving, secondly, which way are we traveling?”
“Isarelle?” Garren said quietly. He couldn’t answer these questions, the way of the quest was up to her.
Isarelle took a deep breath and summoned her energy. In a moment she was able to give a specter image of herself next to her brother. She was glad to have this ability so Garren wouldn’t have to speak for her. She smiled and clasped her hands together, her appearance misty.
“If all is well we shall be off in the morning.” Isarelle said. Her voice was strong but to the others it would seem almost like an echo, a paranormal effect of the magic she used. “As for the direction . . . I’m not—well—quite sure, in the least. You see, Bellaream cast down the Teltayten to her temple but . . . after her long sleep she . . . couldn’t remember where it was. She did say it was at one of the four corners of the Earth, though.” Isarelle added to make it seem like a plus.
“Which only leaves the entire world to search, Isa.” Garren said, rubbing his eyes.
Isarelle folded her arms and scowled, “Well, I don’t see you helping, Garren. And, as a matter of fact, I’ve already done the research and have come to the result of the Teltayten lying in the East or North, thank you very much!”

Kayoe didn’t like the sound of what he was hearing. “Umm, would that be Directly to the east or north or could it be anywhere in between?” He had his doubts about some sort of magical cure all for his curse, but the fact that this girl had no clue where to look besides a general direction worried him even more. So not only did the trip have a chance of not working even if successful, but it would be long and rather frustrating ether way. However he knew better then to state his doubts out loud in fact he did just the opposite. “Not that it matters, I’m sure we’ll find it quickly. I mean even if it’s been abandoned for quite a while the locals will still probably know of some ruins nearby.”

“Well,” Isarelle shuffled uncomfortably, “I suppose It could be anywhere in between. Although, I am more confident of it being in the East, the North came second on the list. But I have just the solution. There is a certain compass I know of, it has special magic properties. As soon as it comes into your hands it knows your destination and will point you on your way . . . the only trouble is getting the compass.”
“If it even exists.” Garren grumbled.
“Oh and why wouldn’t it?” Isarelle demanded, folding her arms.
“Well, first of all, you read about this compass in one of your books. This wouldn’t be one of the first times those bloody books of yours have faced you wrong. I doubt there is such a compass and think we would be better off just traveling without it instead of going through the trouble of finding it.”
“But that would make the journey longer!” Isarelle argued.
“And less bloody dangerous, if you ask me! If we do get that compass then, knowing you, you will follow it to the very angle. Who knows what kind of treacherous land that will bring us all through?”

“The Elder Compass? Is that what you are talking about?” Kayoe looked at Isarelle, she seemed to be sure that they would be able to get it. Kayoe hated to disappoint her, but he shouldn’t with hold the information he had. “The good news is, I know where to find it. It’s in a temple southwest of here. The bad news is that the monks there consider it one of their most sacred artifacts. If they won’t give it to us, and the odds of that are low, we’re back where we started except further away from our goal. Even if you ignore the fact that stealing it would be wrong, the monks there are fairly skilled warriors. My blade could barley best one of them when he was unarmed. And there are about a hundred of them there, and I doubt I faced there best fighter, proof that I still have a ways to go in my art. I’m not saying we shouldn’t go, I just want all of you to know what to expect. Perhaps one of the monks suffers from a curse and will even help us as well as let us barrow the compass, I can’t say for sure.”

Isarelle sighed frustratedly, “Oh, well . . . Yes, I was speaking of the Elder Compass . . . I don’t know of any way we could get in and . . . stealing from a monk . . . not too high on my to do list. But, if there were any way of getting past them . . . And the way you speak of their training, it doesn’t seem there is a way!”
Adencia smiled and gave a little wave to call Isarelle’s attention.
“I didn’t master the art of changing into a snake at will for nothing.” She pointed out, “I can do it. It’ll be no walk in the forest, but I might as well try. And plus, who’s ever heard of a monk slaughtering a snake? . . . Unless they’re the special kind, like the ones my village used to compete with. If they’re like that I don’t suppose I’ll be able to make it through to get the compass, but otherwise . . .”
Isarelle smiled, “Well that does prove a good solution. You did do a fair job of escaping the—erm—wine cellar . . .but I do not know the layout of this temple. Kayoe, do you think there’s a chance Adencia could get to the compass?”

"Why not just ask to stay for the night?" He asked. He was leaning against the doorpost, looking through a small book he had. "They are monks after all and will provide lodging for travellers. I can get the general layout and help provide a distraction." He stopped at a page in his book and turned it over for them to see. It was a picture of the temple with the sun setting in behind it. "This is the temple you are speaking of right? Well, I actually left that temple a couple of days before coming here. And I'm pretty sure they will be more then happy to see me again." He commented as he closed the book and put it away.

“Well, snakes are common in the area. And I doubt they’d kill an animal just for being in one of their holy chambers. But they are skilled and if you were seen you would probably be moved outside. You probably could pull it off, but theft is not something I support. Not to mention I would prefer to ask, but if they say no and the compass disappears, that would suspicious. However, they worship an ancient god, Sazimeca, he may be in the same pantheon as Bellaream, but I am not well versed in such things so I can’t say for sure.” Kayoe then turned to Khnui. “I’m sure they’d welcome me back as well. The fight I had there was more then friendly, it seems they knew my master back in the day and one of them wanted to test his skills against her Protégé. However I vote we head there at first light and decided exactly what we are going to do on the way.” Kayoe then reaches into his pack and pulls out a map. The map shows the continent and its general terrain features, on it are many marks in ink made by Kayoe as he traveled. Kayoe points to one of them. “The temple is here, and we’re about here” Kayoe points to an unmarked spot on his map and makes a mental not to mark this house there. “For a group this size we can get there in three days from when we leave tomorrow if we hurry, and we can spend the second night in the town in between here and there, that square mark there. The route isn’t dangerous and I know the innkeeper in the town. They’re fairly understanding folk and I can get a rather large discount for us, and I think collectively we can keep each other in check so we won’t cause problems or harm any of the townspeople if one of our curses get’s set off. But that is my recommendation, are there any objections?”

“No objections here!” Isarelle said oozing her bubbly personality, “Anyone else?”
“Nye,” Adencia spoke up, “No worries. Start out at daybreak?”
Isarelle nodded and looked to her grim faced brother.
“Garren?” She asked cautiously. If she was nicer to him he would most likely agree to go. She found that, usually, you can get a lot out of him when you’re nicer.
Garren looked up to her, his eyebrows furrowed. “I’m not sure . . .” he said thoughtfully, “What if the monks don’t accept our curses? I’m sure Khnui, Kayoe, and Adencia could hold them back but what about Aranai? Or us? I’m sure they would notice a man changing to a woman once an hour or a giant firebird perusing the sky at night.”
