Heh. She apologized again, Eni that is. She said sorry too much, it seemed she said it the most when it wasn't needed to be said. Ebon wondered what it would be like them now. Would she still act the same way? Well, not like he was with her for long anyways. She seemed timid and such. As for Ebon, well... He could have a one-night stand with a chick, and the next day act as if nothing happened between them. That's what he was like; Excellent at hiding stuff. When he wanted to hide it, though. Eni seemed like she didn't want him to say anything about what happened, so why bother? He didn't need one of the members of their group to hate him.

Ebon fell back onto the bed once again. "Let's try this again." Ebon sighed out, rolling onto his side. His eyes grew heavier, and soon he fell back asleep. Damn, if that bed wasn't so comfortable he would have been able to stay up just a bit longer to think about stuff. But noooo, the stupid inn has to make these damn amazing beds! Or maybe it's because Ebon had been sleeping against a tree or on the ground the past couple weeks?

Well, so much for Ebon's nice sleep until dawn. Instead, his buddies that he went hunting with the day earlier barged into his room. Mark, the loudest and most obnoxious, literally shook Ebon awake. That tard. "What... The... ********... Do you want?" Ebon looked out his window. Wow, not even a shred of the sun being there. How early was it? It'd probably be... What, three hours till the sun popped up? "You moron! We told you we were gonna go on an early hunt for a couple hours yesterday, and you agreed to come along!" Shitty. What a perfect way to start the day, eh?

How... Interesting it was this time around. Not only was Ebon really tired, and forcefully being made to tag along, the rest of the guys were like it was mid-afternoon. What the hell? Was that even possible? Damn freaks. That's what Ebon said they were. Sleep didn't seem to like being given to Ebon, nowadays.

The sun popped up, finally. "All right guys, we'll stop for now." Well, not like Ebon didn't get anything out of it. He did get a hefty amount of money, and a free breakfast. All this was at the cost of his precious sleep. Some day he would get it, some day.... But for now, he would have to get back to the inn as quickly as the hunting group could move (Which wasn't too fast, sadly). Hopefully Blade and the rest of them hadn't left yet.

Which they didn't. "Dude, what's the hurry gettin' back here?" Well, Ebon had explained it to them earlier, but the only one that wasn't paying any attention was Mark (Or he was, and is just acting like a d**k). "Well, obviously, you're too stupid to fathom the idea of being ready to depart for the mountains by dawn. I wouldn't expect an infidel, such as yourself, to understand this complex concept."Ebon stated out sarcastically, making Mark look like a complete idiot. Nothing he could do about it though, the rest of the group was heading further into town to sell what they got.

His eyes quickly scanned the inn room. "Kickass, you guys are still here. Saves me the trouble of catching up." What was taking them so long though? He should have had to catch up to them. Oh well, maybe it's the start of a day that may actually turn out good? Probably not, but meh. One could dream.

Ebon walked further into the inn, and took a seat at a table. He didn't order anything, he had already eaten. by the looks of things, everyone was waiting for the others, himself included? Well, probably not. More than likely they were waiting for Rina and Rani.

Aiko sighed mostly of boredom but almost happy she didn't have to move around as much. Her feet still swayed slowly under her hitting the legs of her chair. Her mind wonder in the empty space of nothing. She found herself in a daze yet again with nothing on her mind. Until Blade had called out it was time to leave but no one seemed to move. Ebon had made his way into the room and took a set taking her from her daze. She leaned forward resting her elbow on the table and her head in her hand.

It sure did seem like they weren't leaving anytime soon. Her fingers drummed the table before she pushed herself back from her set. "I can't just set here," she mumbled to herself. The moment she stood she remembered the weights in her warmers. Slowly lifting her foot to tap her toes on the floor. Everything felt three times as heavy and she moved alot slower then before.

Taking a deep breath she looked towards Blade and Boan. She put her hands behind her back locking her fingers together before walking towards them. They seemed to be talking and she hoped that she wouldn't be interrupting anything. Stopping in front of them she chuckled slowly, "Heh, Miss. Blade...not sure if you want me to call you that but umm...I haven't truly introduce myself. I am Aiko," she smiled closing her green eyes. She only knew her name from the rest of the group talking to her as much as they did.

Aiko scratched the side of her head, "If it's not much I would like to ask you something..." she paused again not sure if she wanted to ask. "It may sound silly but I would like to know if you could play your instrument...for me. I ahh put weights in the leather wrapped around my arms and legs in order to train myself. I would like to dance to your music so that I could get use to them a lit-" She paused again stopping mid sentence. "It's stupid I know," she slowly moved her hand behind her head a little uncomfortable again. "I would understand if you couldn't."

Boan watched Aiko come back into the Inn and wondered what she’d been doing out there. She was moving slower. What the hell? She looked the same as before. Boan could easily figure out why if he used his eyes, but he liked this woman and he didn’t know her as well as he knew Blade. No, he could always find out the normal way, but for now it could wait. Aiko… Boan liked her. He didn’t really know why. It was hard to describe, really.

Just as Boan was about to turn back to Blade he saw Aiko headed toward them. She made her way over to their table slowly, and when she finally stopped, she seemed nervous. Was nervous the right word? Boan wasn’t good with words. Oh well. Aiko then started to speak. She wanted Blade to play her harp that she would have something to dance to because she’d recently put weight in the cloth around her arms and legs. Boan used to do that before the incident with tidal He’d never wanted to, but they made him. Traveling on foot to the next country was not fun when you were wearing 30 pounds of metal on each arm and leg. It got worse when you had to practice sword and hand-to-hand combat techniques. On the bright side, he could punch through a solid wood wall by the time he was 18.

He came back to reality just as she finished with, "I would understand if you couldn't.”

“Hah! Blade would love to play for you! Isn’t that right, Blade?” He asked, sending a ‘Do-it-or-die’ look through his blindfold in her direction. “Hell, I’m sure everyone here would love to see you dance.”

Blade sensed Boan's anger and saw his balled fists after she'd finished speaking but didn't say anything in responce to these actions. Then he asked who she was speaking to, and she'd been about to say Rina and Rani but then Aiko came over. A song? Blade had been asked many times to play music, so this wasn't as much as a surprising request as it may seem to others. Boan was giving her glare, or at least that was what she sensed from behind his blind fold. Looking over at Boan she smirked, sticking her tongue out as she reached down and picked up her harp, which she'd tied onto the traveling pack which was resting on the floor. "Since pretty boy here is so obviously excited, I'll just have to play won't I? And just call me Blade, Aiko. No need to be so formal."

Removing her eyes from him she looked as her harp and brushed her hands against them. It was still perfectly in tune. Wonderful, wonderful new strings. It sounded a hell of a lot better too. Well, after her song ended they would leave, if Rina and Rani would be down by then or not. She would just have to leave a message with the inn keeper to tell the twins where the group was headed so if they wanted to follow, they could.

Blade took a small moment to figure out a song before beginning to play an upbeat tune. It was a dancing song that was usually used during parties, but Blade didn't really care. Music was music, and when she decided to play something that was what she would play. So she listened to the tune, resisting from tapping her foot on the floor considering that that would screw up her playing if she did. Finally after quite a while the song drew to a close, and after those who had been listening clapped for both the music and dancing she retied her harp and stood up. "Well then, it's time to go. C'mon, bring your food if you're still eating if you'd like." Blade waved her hand before going up to the inn keeper and asking him to give the message to the twins before walking outside into the new morning sun. The sun was about halfway up, meaning that they'd already lost some traveling time. Well, they could make that up soon enough. Running a hand through her boyishly cut hair Blade started walking, turning her head to look back at the others.

Aiko chuckled a little about to leave the two be and forget about her silly request when Boan began to talk. She stared at him for a moment before she allowed a smile come across her face. He wanted to see her dance but she wasn't asking to dance fore everyone. This would be new to her, yes she loved to dance but she only danced for her family and herself. Suddenly she became nervous more then anything. She thought that she would ask her to go to a different room...heh, maybe she should have said that first.

It was too late now Blade was already getting herself ready. Aiko nod her head towards her smiling softly. She made her way to a clearing in the room looking at the eyes that stared back towards her. She wasn't going to be able to do it...maybe if she imagined them not there. That could work. She raised her hands untying her ribbing from her ponytail and holding it out in front of her before covering her eyes. Then slipping off her shoes and weapons she got ready.

Ok, now she could do it. Aiko took a deep breath as the song started. It was now or never slowly she raised her hands at her side holding them there. As soon as she felt the rhythm of her upbeat music her hip slowly dropped towards the right, left, front, back, and repeat. Mostly like a belly dance and holding her arms out was a workout. It didn't matter though she loved dancing and would go through any pain for it.

Now her shoulders, one rolled forward as the other rolled back her hips still in motion. She raised her hand above her with her right foot following almost as if she had an invisible string lifting it. Dropping her leg again to the beat her body spun from the motion. Her arms still moved and her knees bent making her closer to the ground. Every movement she made was difficult but she managed to pull it off. With every mistake she created a new move. It was just her and the music, no one else. A wonderful dance it was.

The tie around her eyes had come undone showing that her eyes were closed anyway. As Blade's music slowed down signaling the ending of her song Aiko's movements slowed down with it. She exhaled standing on the toe of her left foot while her right leg slowly ascended. She was doing a back flip but landed in a split with her head down and her hand reaching for her toes. The song had ended and people where clapping.

Aiko stained in her spot breathing heavy tired and hurting but still feeling good. She pulled her back leg to her side letting her body pull it back together. To her it wasn't the best dance and she made a lot of mistakes but only she would notice them. Finally she smiled glancing towards Boan half wondering what he thought but her dance, she quickly looked away. Spotting her ribbon at her side she tied her hair back up.

She still didn't get off the floor not truly wanting to move anymore but she had to bow as her way of saying thanks. So she stood bowing slightly smiling still. Her chest still rising with each breath she took, to the point of someone noticing that she was tired. She looked towards Blade now she was ready to go. Aiko to a deep breath getting her shoes and weapons as quick as she could. She was sure to be sore the next day or two but at least by that time she would be some what use to them. She hurried to get herself some water to drink and fell up her water pouch before following behind Blade. She smiled happily thanking her.

Boan enjoyed the music Blade played. He loved music, but it was hard to find a musician. Most of them played the drums, too. It was possible to hear too many drums. The harp was a nice break. But the music was not what Boan was really paying attention to. It was Aiko’s dancing that really got his attention. He knew he was acting like a teenager, but who cared? An attractive woman was dancing, and it had been forever since he’d seen an attractive woman, not including Blade. Blade finished playing soon, though, and Boan sighed.

He was about to start talking when Blade said that it was time to go. She was going to leave without everyone? They wouldn’t catch up. They probably wouldn’t catch up, actually. There was a chance that they were determined to stay with Blade, but he doubted it. There was a much, much better chance that they would group up with someone else or go it alone. Not good. So before blade got past him he reached out and grabbed her arm to stop her. It was just a light tug on her arm to get her attention.

“No, Blade. They aren’t all down here. Half of them probably won’t even know we’re gone for at least half an hour. You killed one spawn with the team you have, so don’t risk losing any of them. Go wake them up if you have to, but don’t take off with only three or four. Wait for the rest,” He said, narrowing his eyes through his blindfold. She couldn’t actually see his eyes, but he was sure she knew what he was doing. She was good at that. “You especially need the healer.”

[I know, grabbing her arm is god-modding. Sue me. Have her pull her arm out of his grip if you want.]
PostPosted: Thu Aug 17, 2006 6:02 pm

[I think we'll get concerned when you take a knife and stab her in the chest. >O]

So they were gonna wait. Why? Because, supposedly, they need the rest of them to continue on because they already killed a spawn with the group they had? How foolish. "Actually, it was the work of three people that the spawn is dead. Two of those three are here, and all the other one did was shoot an arrow at the spawn. Plus,. if they were really wanting to come along, they would have gotten up by now. I'm certain everyone inside, and outside the inn heard your call. Furthermore, if they do want to help us so badly, they would catch up." Ebon said, as he approached the two standing there.

What would it be like every day if they waited for them anyways? All they'd do would slow them down, especially if they can't get up and be a little ready to go. "I say we just leave. by the looks of it, they may just end up being a burden, even if one of them is a healer." Now Ebon walked past the two and out into the street. The sun was now completely visible. "But, I guess it's still up to you guys if we leave or not."[

Well, all he knew was that they were off to the mountains sometime that day. Preferably now, but it was up to Blade. Heh, she somehow snagged the leader role, eh? Ebon wondered if that's what she had intended to do all along.

Rani and Rina waited in the lobby for Eni to return. When the sun started to set and she still had not come, they headed back to their room. It was true they had slept most of the day away already, but they could go days without sleep. And days just sleeping. It was a win-lose situation with them. They just could not get a good sleeping pattern.

Rina limped into the room glancing around at the patterns on the walls. It was a lovely room, but it only reminded her of home. Their mother loved to sew and make things from wood. She would make birds and horses and all sorts of animals. Rina loved it all from the smooth surface to the animal itself. Teh blonde sighed while crawling into her bed. Rani noticed her sudden sadness. It was one of the benifits of being a twin. They could somewhat tell the other was feeling when it didn't show. "Rina." Rani said softly sitting on the edge of his bed. "Just don't think about it and it'll be alright. We'll see them again. With the others with us, there is no way we could die before we get to go home again." Rina looked at Rani and gave a smile. He was right, she was just making herself sad. "Thanks." Rina said before rolling over and falling alseep. Rani stared at her for some time before doing the same.

The sun came into the room and awoke Rina and Rani. They both nodded to each other as they gathered their items. Rina's leg was still not healed, but it was better after nights of sleep so she could carry a light bag. Taking her walking stick in hand, Rina limped out of the room and down the steps. Rani followed after, but he choose to stay behind. Rina spotted Eni before the others. "Eni!" In no time, Rina had let go of her walking stick and stuck herself onto Eni.

Blade looked back at Aiko and smiled back in responce to the one that had been given to her. She opened her mouth to say: "No problem" but then she heard Boan behind her. She turned around and listened to what he said and just shrugged in responce. It wasn't her problem if they were late or not, there was a reason that she'd told everyone to arrive at a certain time. She needed a healer? Blade hated it when Boan did that. Reaching up and touching the collar that the tomboy wore around her neck before pulling her arm out from the man's grip.

"I'm fine." Blade answered as she waved her hand and just shook her head. She had a head ache, but that was just typical. And besides, Blade didn't want to stop everything just because she was causing some stupid problem because she needed to be healed. If she broke off a limb or a bone, then she would say that she needed a healer. Right now, no. "Until I get stabbed somewhere I'm not going to ask for a healer. Chill Boan, I'm fine." Again she was lying, but again she didn't care. Time to move.

"Let me see... Aiko, Ebon, Rani, Rina, Boan and... what's her face... Eni, there we go." Everyone seemed to be hear, they'd all come out at the last moment. Half nodding to herself in approval Blade turned around so she wouldn't have to face Boan again and simply started walking. When they got to the gate the gaurd asked for money, and all that Blade did was glare at him to make the man back off before passing through the open gate, happy that her little trick had worked. Taking in a deep breath of air and briefly taking directions from the ground Blade started walking, her hands folded behind her head as she yawned.

"On the road again...." She dwalded to herself with a smile.

Aiko didn't do much but watched as Boan took hold of Blade. He didn't want to leave the rest of the group behind. 'How nice of him,' she thought rest most of her weight on her left leg. The weights on her didn't make this as easy as it use to be for her. She almost couldn't wait for the next day so her body could rest up and moving around would be easier. It didn't matter now because she felt as if she was still in training. Blade had to pick a up beat tone too only to make her do more work, well she asked for it.

Aiko parted her lips to speck but Ebon had stepped into the conversation as well. Now he was ready to go and was sure that the two would catch up. They may even be a burden he went on saying. She crossed her arms thinking that this made since. If the two really wanted to be with the group they would catch up but the young girl's leg was never healed.

Finally ready to speck again the twins walked down stairs as if they didn't know they were late. She never met the two but she guess that those must have been the one's Blade was talking about from their likeness in names. "Well their here now," she crossed her arms thinking to herself. She was sure there was other healers in the town why not go to one of them? Shaking her head of the thought, it wasn't her place to snoop.

Then looking at Blade whom pulled herself from Boan. She couldn't help but feel as if Blade was mad at something. A giggle had build up in her throat but she never parted her lips to release it. Letting her arms fall at her side she walked from the Inn as they were leaving.

"Hello," she spoke to Ebon, "My name is Aiko it's nice to met you," she finished with a smile. Ebon was rather tall himself well everyone was tall to her but she still planed on making friends so it didn't matter. She was going to have to speck to the twins a little later though.

Four wooden carts wound their way along the dirt road that coursed through the countryside. Each cart was laden with trade goods and the teams of horses that pulled them grunted from the strain of their burden. Along the sides of the carts, marched the merchants, each arrayed in his travel gear and each obviously ready to reach the next town. However, not every one was walking, a single figure lay sprawled out amidst the trunk and chests of the fourth cart. The sun shown down on his young face and it was obvious to anyone that peeked in would instantly realize that he was out like a light, his snores just audible over the clack of hoofs on the dirt and stones that made the road. A driver was studying the wind whipping the grass into a dancing frenzy and spat on the road as the cart caught a hovel and the cart bounced free violently. The sleeping man grunted in his sleep and the driver shook his head and grumbled

“Ha, some fighter that one.” He grumped as he cracked the reins and speed the horses up “All he ever do is eat, sleep and take our money.” He looked down to the man that walked along the cart “Why we hire this lazy bum? There gotta be more effective mercenaries out there willing to guard the caravan.” The walker ran his hand across his sweating brow before looking up at the driver.

“That maybe true but he was cheap and don’t forget he got that thug off my back in Inweld.” The driver shrugged and turned his attention back to the horses.

“That maybe, but one act on a two month trip don’t make him worth while in my book.” The cart drove on and the man in the back, with the shaggy brown hair and a flail resting by his side, smiled as he closed the left eye that had been observing the driver. Tornel smiled and went back to sleep.

***

Later, near a walled town, the caravan had stopped and Tornel was talking to the caravan owner. Tornel stood a head taller than the little old man but right now the caravan owner was in the back of the wagon, so Tornel looked up at him from the dirt road.

“Well, you sure I couldn’t convince you to come along for a bit longer? You saved my neck back in Inweld. I’ll pay double for your services.” Tornel smiled and shook his head

“Sorry mate but I’ve been with you guys long enough and besides, even if you doubled my pay, I could get more than that by doing a standard bodyguard job for a week. I only tagged along because you guys happened to be going my way and I figured it would be easy money.” The merchant owner shrugged as he pulled out a small back of coins and tossed it to Tornel, who caught it and rattled the clanking coins.

“There’s your promised pay plus some extra for Inweld.” Tornel grinned and pocketed the bag into his coat. “So what will you do now?”
Tornel shrugged and watched as the caravan owner motioned to the driver and they pulled away towards the walled town.

“I’m a mercenary.” He said to himself “I just live from job to job. Making money is what I do next.” So Tornel walked over to the shade of a tree that overhung the road and began to eat and apple, which he had taken from a barrel from the wagon.

Boan let out a heavy sigh and got out of his seat, pulling his bag up with him. It contained his spare clothes and some food and other small supplies. Not very heavy, even for an average person. He’d meant that the group needed the healer, in case something happened to any of them, but she needed the healer too. Still, blade was as stubborn as… something that was stubborn. She had refused every healer he’d ever seen her meet. He probably would have too, if he was in her position. A dozen failures tend to suck the hope out of a person.

“Whatever you say,” he grumbled, heading out the door of the Inn. He followed about twenty feet behind her, and tried not to laugh when the guard wanted money. The guards had asked him for money when he came in. It didn’t take much to scare them, though, and he got in for free. Money was getting harder and harder to find. His job paid well but it took a long time to actually get the money. Usually they gave him one half when he set off and the other half when he came back with a signed scroll. That didn’t happen this time.

Blade managed to get past the guard without giving him a coin, and Boan just stuck his tongue out at the man and followed after her. The others he’d seen last night were up so he wasn’t too worried about leaving them behind. Hopefully it wouldn’t take too long for them to catch up. That reminded him. That man, the one who’d been talking to Eni last night in the room… Ebon? Boan didn’t like that man. Too willing to leave people behind.

Well, you everyone came, including Rina and Rani. The two just finally got up. It was a good thing too, the more people the better? Although before he seemed like they should just leave them behind, but he had his reasons for saying that. Not like he necessarily wanted to. That was in the past now though, no need to bring up such trivial things at an occasion, such as that. The important thing now was that they were leaving, with who it mattered not.

Blade was now out of the inn and a fair ways ahead of them. Ebon started to walk after them as well, but then Aiko had suddenly approached him. She introduced herself formally. He supposed they were due for one. "Aiko? It's nice to finally introduce ourselves! My name is Ebon, a pleasure to meet you as well."Ebon said as he turned towards her, and returned her smile with one of his own. "It'd be best that we get going, or we'll be the ones left behind!" Ebon said jokingly, turning around and running after Blade.

It wasn't soon after that he caught up to Blade and Boan. The guard he passed didn't even ask for some money. All he had was some sort of puzzled look on his face. His head turned around to see if Aiko had also ran with him to catch up.
