DarkHayama I move my mug aside, getting ready to tell you my story. "If at any time you decide you'd be more comfortable in the cabin, let me know and we can move. I will begin my story now, and while I am going to stop my drinking while I tell it, feel free to continue your own. First off, as I stated earlier, I was born a slave. I don't know if you've ever heard of the Asabi, but my mother was a slave of the Asabi, under the Desert of Anauroch. Once I was old enough, I too became a slave. And I stayed such, for a long time, until one day, the slaves decided to uprise. I was not with them, but I saw this as my opportunity, and fled to the nearest city. As you can imagine, that's not an easy task in a desert when you're an escaped slave. However, I was very lucky. Have you ever heard of the city in Anauroch by the name of "Shade" " " I think I have... go on." I take another sip, listening intently.

I smile a bit, glad you have at least heard of it, as it's appearance was a pretty big deal "well, luckily for me, I found my way to it. I was able to hide out there very easily, as they had little interest in ex slaves, or anyone else of such a low magical ability. Because of this, I was able to survive, using whatever means necesary to get money, food, or shelter. Eventually, I learned to forge documents, and was able to make money through a small, underground forgery business. Small enough to stay under the radar, but large enough to keep me from going hungry. I mostly helped other ex slaves, so my business was not completly immoral or anything. But, unfortunatly, one forgery was seen through, and the man I had helped was quick to rat me out. Learning about this quickly, through sources I had aquired, I took all my belongings and sold what I could/wouldn't need, and fled the city, and Anauroch. And I have since been wandering, no real home that I can go to."

I could never imagine emotional and or physical pain like that."

I reach out, and grab Nerezza's hand. "Don't feel sorry for me. When you grow up in the desert, you can't expect life to be easy. Besides, it sounds as if you've had your share of troubles as well."

biggrin "Wow. better move on with the game. Whose turn is it now?" biggrin
Still gently guiding the barfing figure Dimitri continues to talk to them hoping they were still conscious, "If you want, you can lean on me. So what's your name?"

I move my hand away quickly, giving an apoligetic look. "I'm sorry. In the undergrounds of the Anauroch, we slaves had much physical contact. And, we often touched hands as a form of comfort. It is like second nature to me." I grab my mug again, and take another small drink, then look back to Nerezza. "Well, in my opinion, you seem like a fine woman to travel with, and I would be glad to travel with you any day."

biggrin "It's interesting that you just said me. Though most people doesn't notice it, mainly because of all the jokes and minor bullying, Dimitri idolizes both me and Ziggy here. First and foremost, the thing you have to understand is, whenever he said Big Bro, he can be referring to either one of us. If I had to guess at why that is, I would say it's because I was more like a father to him. Since we lived in a monestary most of our lives, he had nothing to compare to as a father. Ziggy on the other showed his love like a brother with a big-brother complex should." biggrin
stare "Hey! Up yours with an eggbeater domokun ! I could careless about the idiotic midget!" stare
biggrin "Point proven. Anyways he knew that Dimitri would have to make do on his own some time and decided to toughen him up...unfortunately, Dimitri, to Ziggy at least, seem as if he still hasn't grown up and is constantly trying to strengthen him...Another possible reason that came to mind why, 'Big Bro' might be an idol for him is that we each took a different step in controlling or inner demons...." biggrin Staring of into space for a bit before returning to his drink. Ziggy, realizing that Faust's suddenly going quite might move questions into a danger zone. In an attempt to steer away from dangerous waters. Ziggy feints speaking aloud to himself, stare "Hard decision on what to ask. Maybe I should ask for Kyte, but that's no good. Personal hits have no pay involve. Oh, well might as well guage the worthiness of Dimitri's travelling companion. I'm going to ask Kyte. Why do you adventure? for fame? revenge? power? allegiance? What motivates you?" stare

"I travel, like Sunset and Riven, to see if I can find at least something of my past. Any friends I make give me more cause to adventure, because I might meet them again. New objectives may arise and old ones fall, depending on what happens, so I cannot tell you more than that."
"My turn, I believe. I think I will wait for Dimitri to get back, though."

Finally reaching the table Dimitri gently sets down the figure, "Sorry it took so long redface . I think she's unconscious at the moment. So whose turn is it?"
stare "Took you long enough! Your gonna be questioned!" stare Shoving Dimitri aside a bit, stare "Move! I'll take care of 'em. Faust, you can watch!"
biggrin "Of course 3nodding ." biggrin
"I'm being asked a question sweatdrop ? 4laugh So whose asking me the question biggrin ?"

"I am, I believe." said Riven. "So, Dimitri, maybe you can tell me why the subject gets changed so often. Specifically, what did Faust mean about inner demons, and why does that seem to be an uncomfortable subject for you three?"

The smile quickly dissolves from Dimitri's eyes and is replaced by a darkened look.
Overhearing the question Faust accidentally knocks over his chair. biggrin "!" biggrin Ziggy on the other hand drops the cup of water he was holding. stare "!" stare
" sweatdrop ....If I can avoid answering this I would, but I know that will only make you want to know ever more so...It might even go so far as to make you distrust us. I shall answer your question, forgive me if it seems rushed or incomplete. But I must ask you to accept the answer I give and not pursue it any further. I fear that if pursued...bad things tend to happen to those that know too much." Shifting his look away from the girls, a small sign escapes him, "When we were born, we were different. Not just us, we found more. And all that were like us suffered a type of inner demon...another version of us, if you will. This personality strives on the most basic of needs, survival at any cost. Sometimes it may go so far as to correct all weaknesses, meaning it might 'correct' friends, families, and so forth. Though damning as it might be this shadow, as it's called, can be overcomed in one of two ways: first complete and absolute suppression, second total assimilation...forgive for this is as far as I'm willing to go. Mainly for you own saftey and ours." After a few moments of silence Dimitri seem to lighten up a bit, "Riven, I was told that you have travelled rather extensively, surely that means that you have gotten quite a bit of informatio. I'm curious on whether or not you have heard of the Raams?"

Then, should we ever be together again in the future, perhaps we should make it a point to adventure together. I'd offer to join you now, but I think we're both heading in different directions. So, is there anything about me you'd like to ask? We could always go back and fourth asking each other questions, if you feel like learning more about each other."
