[~Soku~] Meh, I'd get the Special II. Mainly because it's got another humbucker and the choice of finishes is larger, which I like. biggrin Yeah, or you could be like me and go for a Custom or Standard, which tend to be better. Though I'd much prefer an SG over an LP... xp However, there is a lovely off-brand semi-hollow Les Paul hanging in one of the local music shops here that I've been wanting to try out and see how it sounds, despite the fact that it's hopelessly out of my price range. wink

Belive me, anyone can afford something thats not squier. You got the Ibanez yeah? That's obviously not Squier. You can get a nice low-end epi for just around $100. Anyone can afford better thatn a Squier ("better than Squier" isnt saying much, either). Anyhow, the G-400 is definately a great choice. Its just about top of the line as far as Epiphone SGs go, and as close to the real thing as you'll get.

I played one last night... DO NOT GET A SPECIAL II. It doesn't sound too bad, but the neck is just murder to try to play on, and it's far too light for a Les Paul.

It's meant to be lighter than a LP would normally be. Its much thinner without the added girth of a carved top, and if im not mistaken its a tad smaller also. Doesnt help that its made with shitty materials, either. And yes, the neck is like a 2x4. Don't get me wrong, i love a nice baseball-bat neck, but i dont play cricket, thank you (if your not familiar with it, the game of cricket is similar to baseball (from what i can tell) but they use what looks like a big 2x4 to thwack the ball).

KyrieEleison These are the 2 that really matter to me, my blue RG 7620 and my Cosmic Blue (Darker color) RG 1527. The 1527 looks really dark here. Its the one w/ the stripe on the neck. Within a few months they will hopefully be joined by a UV7BK RG 7620's been slightly modified. Had all the electronics ripped out and replaced, put in a 3 way switch, new knobs, put in a tremsetter, and got that cool little wrench thingy on the headstock. Has a DiMarzio Blaze in the bridge position. RG 1527 is stock. RG7620 is strung w/ 10-60 guage strings, tuned ADGCFAD RG1527 is strung with 9-54 guage, tuned BEADGBE. GOD, yours are so much better than my Washburn. I hope to get an Ibanez in the future, though.

[~Soku~] ^ Teh Washburn 7-String. Nice. Hey guys, I'm almost done putting that old Teisco back together. Ive cleaned it up, got rid of the rust on the trem tailpiece/tailpiece cover, Swapped the old bridge out with another old one that belonged to my father's old Global (probably Teisco made as well). Fixed the crack in the neck, polished the frets, cleaned and oiled the fretboard (i'll refret later if i decide the guitars playable for soemthing other than slide guitar), ive resoldered alot of the electronics, which in turn were blasted with some contact cleaner. I also cleaned off the knobs, because they were absolutely disgusting. I wish i would have taken before and after photos of them, im not sure if you can see them well on the eBay photo... Anyway, when its all put together again I'll snaps some photos of it and post them when i get the film developed.

I expect it to be nice, mellow, and bluesy though. Oh yeah, i DID post a sound clip of me in the Post Your Playing thread! biggrin
