Mikey_j110 I play oboe and I was wondering if anyone could give me tips??? I'm really bad and I am never able to get the right sound... I normally get the right pitch but I have a very hard time getting it to sound... well good crying I had the same problem. Make sure your mouth isn't too far down on your reed and also make sure that you're covering the holes completely and that you're not hitting any side keys. When it gets to the higher notes, play out of your diaphragm instead of your lungs...that's all the advice I've got...

In the middile of class, the flute will take my oboe and she's start playing it and I'll be playing her flute...then my oboe rotates around the class.I was actually playing a tuba the other day! (I don't know how to play any instrument other then oboe and flute so it sounded pretty bad...) But...yeah. My reeds break easily.

Hiya ^^ I play bassoon, I've been playing for about a year, and I just recently learned to play tenor saxophone which I've been playing for only about a month. I'm a freshman and won't be marching until my sophmore year, but that's what I'll be playing then.

I play flute for marching band, Oboe for concert band. I just started oboe in the middle of last year. Monday we start concert band and it will be the first time I play my Oboe with my High school band. I'm nervous but I'm excited. I've seen the music and I'm starting to work on it and I just can't wait. Also, our first concert band concert is the Winter Concert and we play the Nutcracker Suite every year. It's a tradition for us. I joined band last year as a floutist and I learned that there's an oboe solo in the middle of the Nutcracker. The Oboist last year was a senior and I'm the oboist this year... meaning that I get the solo. I'm so excited for it. xd heart
P.S. Bassoon scares me... crying
