Freodwyn Padre Miguel looked toward Christien and smiled despite his worry. The lad was a Catholic, one of the few he would trust with the knowledge of his priesthood. "I am not certain what these noises are; perhaps we are the first men to ever hear of them in this new world. But rest assured, our Father in Heaven and Blessed Mary will protect us wherever we go."Arama nodded quickly toward Ansel before she put all her concentration on walking forward. She was at work now, and she couldn't stop working to hail a friend. She did, however, spook a little at the sound of gunfire.Padre Miguel frowned at this new sound. "If we both just heard gunfire, son, it is possible you heard horses." This really didn't make any sense to the Padre, but he put on a brave face. "Perhaps there are others who came before us, waiting for us to greet them." He had heard rumors of Spanish voyages to this new world, so it was entirely possible. Soquili heard some voices in the distance and wondered if whoever was making them would arrive... (yeah the settlers can come in now... ))

"Princess Soquili," said Nashota. "I know the chief is not dead. I know they didn't attack your father. But that thunderstick is theirs. They have more thundersticks. Who knows what danger that could bring?"
The headache began to got worse as the sound faded out around her. Everything began to get blurry as she grew weaker. She fell to the ground, unconcious.

Summer Jessamin moved around the tree trunk so she could better view her village. The loud clash of unnatural thunder seemed to have shaken more than her. Panick was running through the village, and the pale faces weren't even there yet! She looked first for Princess Soquili. Summer Jessamin go greatly looked up to the Princess, and was now searching for some reassurance everything would be fine. Sure enough, Princess Soquili was the calm at the center of the storm. The princess had a feirce, yet steady determination on her face. And, above all, she was working to calm down those around her. Summer Jessamin felt a little safer now, if the Princess was calm, she would work on also being calm.

Tasunke cried..he ran over to his father and craddled his head..Soquili: "Oh no!!" she shouted.. as the young girl fell to her feet. "We need to get her some water..her forehead feels like the sun"

Everything was so confusing. The question was: Attack or not? Everyone looked confused, and the settlers were probably coming towards them, any second they would arrive.
Looking around for her mate, she couldn't see him. I hope he is not hurt... Then shaking her head again, she focussed on to the path the settler's smell was coming from.

The unmistakeable sound of gunfire run through Christien's bones like a sharp stab, and his head snapped towards a spot in the forest. "The spanish? " He asked softly... In a way he prayed it was true, his hand going to his chest were a rosery once would have been--and still would have, had his protestant aunt not taken it from him many months before. He gulped a little, and nodded, urging Ansel to continue following the Padre's mount.
Ansel complied, respecting Arama's silence; he knew it wasn't personal, nor would it ever be. Work was work, after all. Like his 'master', his ears twitched towards the area the sound had come from. There was something foreboding in the air, and he didn't like it, a fact he expressed with a worried nicker and toss of his mane. "Shhh, Ansel," Christien soothed him, petting along the horse's withers before turning his attention back towards Miguel. "I did hear it... .... is there.. you could talk to them, if they are spani--"
Just then he and the father rounded a slight bend in the game trail they'd been following. Christian's voice stopped immediatly as the sight of something through the trees began to plague his vision. "What.." The boy's voice died off, as he made out what seemed to be strange, triangular houses and dark skinned people with a whole herd of oddly coloured horses milling about. "Holy Mary, mother of god," He whispered, stopping short.

Crow was so dizzy. Everything.. everything in chaos. "Ughh.." She moaned and grabbed hold of a tree runk for balance. The world was falling apart..or atleast it felt like it..

Leah heard the sound of two-leggers in the distance. "Their coming," gasped Leah, standing guard. When they come, she'll be ready. Those two-leggers will no the wrath of a mountain lion and if they try to run, they will know the true speed of a cheetah.

Then shaking her head again, she focussed on to the path the settler's smell was coming from. Princess Soquili could see so many were confused.. she was as well. "We shouldn't fight. These pale faces have dangerous fire sticks that could hurt us or even kill us. We must be peaceful. or more could end up like the chief if they are ignorant and do not listen..."

Summer Jessamin saw from her tree-vantage point the pale faces. They walked on two feet, just like us, but had strange adornments over their bodies. And their two feet seemed heavy, and hit the ground leaving marks behind them. They had horses, just like us, but their horses were also covered strangely, and they rode their horses in a unnatural up-down motion coming off the horses' back and then back on. The horses seemed just as inclosed of personality as the people did, strange horses, strange people... Summer Jessamin was more than afraid. Yet, there was something about these people, they seemed very weary... perhaps they were just as afraid as her people were? Just like the jumping spider, and the darting snake, perhaps the things we fear also fear us?

Geoff was more than happy to keep on exploring and not cloud his mind with pointless worries, but that changed with the lone horn blast. That was as clear a sign as any that something was wrong. His head shot up as he quickly put up his journal and he inquired to no one in particular, "W-what was that?"
Lady was becoming nervous as well, but not from the horn. The air was filled with the scents of man and beast alike, but like nothing she had smelled before, and she was unsure what their intentions were towards her or her human. Her nervousness only grew as she picked up on the worry evident on Geoff's face. Still, she was far from any sort of officer's steed; as such, the concept of 'war' completely escaped her, and she was content to silence her butterflies.
But just then the sound of the musket shot pierced the air, destroying whatever calm the pair had maintained. Geoff winced as the loud 'bang!' resonated around him and he tried to steady Lady as she squealed with fright. Something definitely was not right. He furrowed his brows as he heard the Frenchman curse not too far off, and followed his gaze with a look of his own. "What in heaven..?"
((Gack! ::trying to keep up:: xD;;; ))

Nokomei, who'd after getting over her fear and leaving Princess Soquili to deal with her brother, had gone back to watching the pale faces movement, when she noticed one had stopped and was looking RIGHT their way, she shrieked, "One---one of the pale faces! L-looking right at us!"
Oathkeeper raced over once more to her side to stand by her. What would the pale face do now... he wondered.

Leah heard what the Princess had said and nodded. For once, Leah realized that attacking may not be the best decision.
