He could not help a smile crossing his face. "Of course, I've nothing to lose but my life and what better way to use it than to guard the helpless...but I will take the risk." He regained his composure and awaited her responce.

Tsunade cocked an eyebrow. Well, she had her answer, but something about him still set her off. Sighing heavily, she leaned forward and held her chin in a slim hand. For minutes, silence was all that swirled in the room, Tsunade’s eyes never left the boy before her nor did her body betray her and move.

Finally sitting straight in her chair, Tsunade nodded her head to herself. She cleared her throat and the chair creaked again as she shifted her bum slightly. It seemed like she was waiting for something, or rethinking some things before answering the ninja.

“Aisu Kiku, former ninja of Mist, you are hear by placed under supervision for the next week in order to conclude that your offered loyalty is sound and true.” Strong words with an even stronger tone escape her lips, her hands folded before her on the desk.

“Due to the nature of your appearance and request, you are forbidden from leaving the borders of Leaf. You will perform D ranked missions for the week of surveillance.” She didn’t wait to see if he was going to accept the terms of agreement. He wanted to be apart of her village; she was going to welcome him in her own way.

“Along with those terms, you will relinquish your Mist head-band and train with an appointed officer to earn and receive a Leaf head-band.” She said, pulling out a scroll and quickly scribbling something on it before placing it away again.

“After your week of ‘detention’, should you prove worthy, your duties will begin. You will be allowed to perform any and all missions within your range of rank. Your officer will, as stated, train with you and later on test you for Leaf Chuunin rank.” She said, her mind quickly working out whom to spare for such a task.

“Should you surpass the fighting level of Chuunin, I will allow you to test for Jounin rank. Until then, you are placed on Genin skill level.” She leaned forward and took a comfortable settling against her desk, not worrying about how she presented herself since, well, her companion couldn’t see her.

“Don’t think that I’m underestimating your strength or skill. This is a good way for you to become accustom to the ins and outs of Konoha, along with its way of training and testing, and you’ll be able to learn our jutsus.” She said casually, wanting to reassure him that she wasn’t trying to treat him like a kid.

“At this moment, I am trusting you to keep your word and obey my orders. Though you may not be an official Leaf ninja, you are on trial to become one and hence you, official or not, will obey any of my orders. No drawing back now, you’re stuck here.” She smirked calmly and scratched the right side of her temple, damn, did she love being bossy.

He stood up and reached for the headband he had let fall to show his eyes before. He held it for a moment, just a moment...he seemed to be letting go of all he had knew at that moment, before setting it on her desk.
He stood straight, looking exactly were he had put the headband before shifting his head toward her general direction.
"Understood. When do I meet my instructer?"

((Shigi))

“Get up you brat. Time to talk with your god father.” Shigi softly kicked a black haired boy on the ground he grunted and rolled over to the other side before waking himself up. Sleep for an entire two days will do that to you.

“Up, Uchiha. Time to wake and have a little talk with me.” Shigi prodded the now half asleep Uchiha who turned to face Shigi before sitting up on his butt.

“Ugh…who are you?” The boy said as he tried to move.

“Don’t move too much, had to dumb you and the blonde kid so you didn’t cause a fuss.” Shigi pronounced as he sat down Indian style in front of the Uchiha boy.

“What…did you do to…Naruto?” Sasuke asked with a struggling voice.

“Oh, I dropped him off. He should be waking up soon and is probably mad as high heaven knowing that I dumped him off.” Shigi smiled and reached around to the back of his waist to get his flask and take a swallow from it.

“Ugh..”

“Oh, right who am I. I’m ShiGI!” He answered, the last part of his name becoming high from a hiccup, “I’m your godFAther, I’m going to take you for a few weeks and train you. I was the Grandmaster of Kanton, named so by your father.”

“And if I refuse?”

“Then you go home and don’t get any stronger, that’s what.”

((Naruto))

“Ugh…Sasuke…..” Naruto staggered on his uncertain legs. He could see the gates of Konoha in his sights. He walked forward on his will alone.

He entered the village in a daze, he woke up in a sluggish manner, his body didn’t work right, and Sasuke was gone. How he planned on telling Sakura that Sasuke was kidnapped was beyond him. She was going to kill him because he was her number one squeeze…or so she wished.

He continued on his path to Tsuande’s office so he could get her help. He stumbled over a rock as he made his way further toward the tower of the fifth.

After taking sometime, to get redressed after the fact that he had just coughed up some of his own blood. He again walked out of his lone apartment, contemplating. On if he should report to Tsunade-sama, because he was an able body; at the moment, or he could just go on about his buisness and find a job to do. So he wouldn't have to face her wrath.

He was very tempted to go with the second suggestion, until he saw a young boy with yellow vibrant colored hair stumbling in the direction of what seemed to be the fifths quarters. The same exact direction his mind- of-their-own legs where taking him; even though his mind didn't wish to go there.

It was Naruto, he would notice that, bright haired, hyperactive kid anywhere. He had only met him recently, because of the cleaning and reconstruction duty he had been stuck with. It was there he had met up with him and a few others, he wasn't a bad kid. Just a bit crazy sometimes, but that was one of the many things he liked about him.

Suddenly stopping dead in his tracks. Kouji stared at the back of his head, knowing he couldn't just leave him by himself. So without another thought, he ran after Naruto wondering if he really needed help. He looked badly beaten, and exausted. What the hell had he been doing anyways?

"H-Hey Naruto, are you, okay?"

His eye's where wide in concern, he wasn't very good in situations like these. But who wouldn't, he really had no idea what was going on. And didn't think he was going to get very much information.

[[ HEY, saw a place to jump in. So I took the chance, hehehe. ]]

Kisami sighed as she walked into her house, looking around. "Mom? I'm back!" She called out, waiting her mothers response. When she didn't get one she blinked and set her bags down, and searched the house. "Mom?" She was starting to feel a bit worried. She looked around somemore and found her mom cleaning the kitchen. "Mom?"

"Kisami?" Her mother turned around and smiled. "When did you get in?"

Kisami sighed in relief. "Just a second ago. Didn't you hear me?"

"Nope."

"Well, hold on, I have to get the groceries." She said, jogging out of the room and back to where she left the bags. She came back in the kitchen and smiled at her mom. "Anything else or can I go train now?"

"Fine Fine. Go."

"Yes!" She cheered and turned to leave but stopped. "Hey mom, on the way back, I saw some weird people."

"Kisami... Everyone you see is weird." Her mother joked.

"But I'm serious about this."
She defended. "They were both in black robes with red coulds. One of them was blue! He was BLUE mom! And he had GILLS! You cannot tell me thats not weird!"

"His clan could be a type of animal clan like the Inuzukas." She said with aged intelligence.

"Whatever. But it's not him that worries me. It's the guy that was with him. He wore a bamboo cap but I was able to see his eyes. They were peircing red with a weird shapped pupil. It was like... 666 revolved around it."

She saw her mothers body freeze and tense. "Continue" She said without looking at her daughter.

"When I looked in his eyes, a feeling of dread washed over me. For a split second, my heart seemed to stop along with every other part of my body. When he passed, I felt relieved."

"..." Her mom didn't say anything.

"What troubles the most is... The red-eyed man wore a leaf head band but it had a deep slice right down the center. The other wore a Mist head band and the same slice. Why did that happen?" She asked. She looked at her mother. "Um... Mom?"

"Kisami.. I want you to go to the Hokage-sama's office and tell her this. It may not be a big deal but imform her of what you saw, when you saw it, and the direction they were heading. Understood?"

"I guess but-"

"Just go Kisami!"

"Fine!" Kisami said, leaving the house and heading for the Hokage headquarters.

Without a second thought, Sakura had made a quick exit to Jeidens room. But after entering and closing the door with a soft click behind her, the voice of the Hokage was heard throughtout the room, albeit slightly dulled through the walls.

Sakura had reason to believe it was an interrogation of the suspicious mist-nin they had brought along, but despite the seriousness it held or the possible forecoming consequnces, she was by far deeply concerned and distracted by something else.

The location and kidnapper of Sasuke and Naruto.

But much to her disappointment, the only person besides Kaji who could talk to her about was fast asleep. She looked down at the resting Jeiden, reassuring herself that he was definitely conked out.

Oh yes, 'conked out' matched him very well.

On some level, she wanted to wake him up and damn the aftermath for later-- but common sense said to do otherwise. If he was sleeping, he needed it, and she would wait out till he woke up.

She leaned against the wall of the room, rubbing concern from her face in nothing but vain. It had started out as just a low rank mission, one she could've let by had it not been for her dying ego. If only she hadn't been there, Kaji would've been up to speed with the boys, and watching over them.

The thoughts just kept progressing, making the carried guilt harder and harder to cope with.

'I just hope they come back okay...'

There was a loud POOF! And the Jeiden sleeping soundly in the bed disappeared in a cloud of smoke, revealing a lumpy pile of pillows in his place. A simple Kawarimi.

A small, hastily written note was lying at the head of the bed.

If you guys are reading this, then I'll bet I'm long gone. Pretty cool escape for a straight-C student, eh? ^_^

-Jeiden

It actually hadn't been that long, as Jeiden can hardly keep up a Kawarimi for more than twenty minutes. He had actually only just made it to his house. Where he was hastily packing up all his weapons and food. "Instant ramen.. check, Kunais...check, shuriken...erm.." He raised up a handful of rusty shuriken, many of them having broken off points. "Screw it, I won't need them." He tossed the worn out weapons over his shoulder and threw everything else pell-mell into his bag. "Time to go get those two back."

The damn fool had vanished, and all sympathetic feelings towards him as well. Sakura stifled a growl, not the least bit suprised by the trick.

'You dirty little...'

It was carelessness, complete and utter lacking for the safety of his own well being. Common sense clearly stated that he should'nt have gone out alone. The possible enemy left unknown made the stakes incredibly high.

With that said, she opened the door just enough to allow her to slip through, then locked it behind. She bit her lip, Tsunade wasn't gonna like this one bit.

"Hokage-sama," she called, " Jeiden's run off."

Before Tsunade could answer Aisu’s question, the sudden movement from behind her as the door opening got her attention. Seeing Sakura slipping through the door, Tsunade knew what might have happened and Sakura telling her only confirmed it. Snarling furiously, Tsunade’s face turned hard and harsh.

“Sakura – drag that brat back by his ears if you have too – that idiot!” She stood up from her chair, the poor piece of furniture nearly toppling over from the force that the elderly woman stood up with. She stomped over to the cabinets on one side of the room and yanked one open, taking out a worn out scroll. She clutched it with a death grip and stomped back to her desk.

“If he fights or gives you whatever excuse to get away – tell him there’s a reason that I won’t send anyone to get Naruto and Sasuke.” Tsunade growled. She turned her hard rock eyes to Sakura.

“Make him realize, would I honestly wait this damn long to send someone after them? Tell him to stop being hasty and get his a** back here. Now.” Tsunade’s tone and words had calmed by the time she reached the end of the sentence, but due to the anger from before and wanting to make sure to let them all know she wasn’t joking and was truly pissed, her chakra cracked and electrified the air in the room.

“Now, Sakura. Go and tell him that I know Sasuke and Naruto are safe. And that there was an underlining reason to send them towards the borders. It was a requested mission, it was supposed to happen. If he wants any more explanation, tell him and quote, ‘Get your raggedy a** back here and demand it from me.’ ” The chakra flow in the room slowly calmed, she hadn’t been that riled up since she meet Naruto. She sighed and placed her head in her hand and gently waved Sakura away.

Kaji!” She called, “Get out here. I have a new assignment for you.” She said, and then turning to Aisu, she gave him a rueful smile he couldn’t see.

“Well… after that demonstration, I’m sure I won’t be getting any problems from you.” She chuckled in a sarcastic and somewhat tired tone, but continued opening the scroll in her hands and laying it out before her.

((O.o I may have gone slightly over-board with Tsunade's reaction, but she seems the type to get mad when things aren't really going her way. And with the previous trouble she got from Jeiden, it seems like a logical reaction to have. XD ))

For a brief moment the girl was taken aback, astounded even, at Tsunade's boiling temper. Yes, she was bossy, Sakura could put up with that--but the way Tsunade looked when she was infuritated, it something worth avoiding completely.

She gulped, gave a quick nod, and ran out the Hokage office door, practically tripping down the stairs on her way. The girl was glad to be out of the Hokage's prescence, but was still frustrated over her teammates antics.

"That idiot...!" Sakura muttered behind grit teeth, feet hitting the road, and continually running towards Jeidens house. Common sense said that he would've gone there to pack up, and get ready for the journey ahead, or at least she hoped. The shinobi didn't completely doubt his intelligence, but she had reason to believe otherwise at times.

If she was lucky, she'd catch up to him.

"... Tsunade is gonna kill him."

Coming to the door of his home with a sudden halt, and nearly throwing herself over in the process, Sakura proceeded to literally bang the door down with a furious knocking.

"Tsunade says Naruto and Sasuke are safe, and that there was a reason to send them to the border!" she called out, hoping he was listening, playing messanger girl wasn't exactly her forte.

"It was supposed to happen!"

Jeiden was just about to turn and leave when he heard Sakura calling out. It took him a while to absorb the truth, and it wasn't easy. "Dammit..." He muttered in slight disappointment. The fully prepared backpack he'd carefully arranged and prepared slid off his shoulder and hit the ground, probably squishing the instant ramen he'd packed.

Basically, his temper exploded on the spot.

"Tch! That old hag! Who the hell does she think she is, keeping me in the dark about all of this?! If Naruto and Sasuke were being abducted on purpose, why was there a need for combat at all? Was me getting a hole in my gut all part of the act too?!" He unknowingly roared all of this in Sakura's, only feeling a desire to vent his frustration.

Jeiden stood there at the doorway for about thirty seconds, breathing heavily, his face now a deep shade of red.

"Erg, I'm sorry..." He suddenly muttered while quickly bending over and picking up his door. After leaning it against a nearby wall he straightened up and gave a nervous smirk. "You're probably just as confused as I am about this mess, or maybe a little less. As Tsunade probably stated I'm not too bright...."

"I'm guessing she'll want me back in her office so she can yell at me too, yeah I'll go..." He hung his head and began to trudge back towards the Hokage tower, fearing whatever possible punishment Tsunade had cooked up for him. And even IF he survived the Hokage, he'd have to explain the broken door to his mother. 'She'll never believe a pink haired Ninja-Girl knocked it off its hinges...'

For exploding in her face, Sakura felt the undeniable urge to exactly carry out Tsunades permission to beat him. Though 'pulling him by the ears' wouldn't constitute as order to pound him, Sakura could've modified it to make it so .

But it was hard to deliver the package when the customer was now looking so down, embaressed even after the blow-out. He didn't mean to do it, it was unintentional, or at least he played the part very well.

Sakura softly sighed, slowly recollecting her calm.

Gradually, her empathy wormed it's way through the gathered anger, and she was back to her composed self again. She had no reason to lash back, not yet anyway, they both were going through the same feelings.

Only, unlike her wise choices, he was acting upon it more.

"I'm glad you've come to your senses," she chided, following behind him as he trudged to the Hokage's office, encouraging the poor boy to move along. " Tsunade-sama was really worried about you running off."

Ehh... Kaji gulped a bit, he had never seen Tsunade that angry. It was scarier than anything he had seen in his entire life... The Jounin bowed in defeat as Tsunade called him, he had an idea of what his new assignment was...God forbid he was right. Normally he would have just teleported beside her to make it faster, but he'd used too much Chakra as it was.

He did however get to her side in seconds, speeding out of the room and to her side as quickly as possible to avoid her possible wrath. As he spoke, there was a bit of reluctance in his voice, he knew the wrong words might set her off again. "Yes Hokage-sama?"

Once beside her, his eyes shifted towards the scroll before them now.

Tsunade glanced up as Kaji, she offered a small smile to the tired ninja before motioning to a chair and standing up to retrieve something from the room Jeiden was once in. Slipping into the room, it was only a moment before she came back and held something out to Kaji, a pea-sized green pill.

“A vitamin made up from the Nara Clan. It’ll help restore chakra a bit quicker, and make you feel not so sluggish.” She said, dropping the pill into his palm. A slight sigh and once again she was in her chair. Pulling the scroll into her hands, she turned to Kaji.

“Aisu,” She called without diverting her eyes, “Understand you are not to repeat what you hear in this room to anyone.”

Taking the scroll gently in her hands, Tsunade opened it and spread it out for Kaji to see. It was the Uchiha Family Bloodline. On the frayed paper of the scroll, names from different branches could be seen, all twisting and connecting one way or the other. From it, Sasuke’s name could be seen, along with his brother’s and other close family.

Tsunade placed the scroll on her lap, facing Kaji, as one of her slim digits pointed to a name, “This is Uchiha ShiGi, and he was the one that asked for the mission. He’s Sasuke’s Godfather.” She glanced up at Kaji for a moment before continuing.

“We weren’t really sure if he was part of the Bloodline family or not – but Sasuke’s father placed ShiGi down as an Uchiha that would be the benefactor and caretaker of Sasuke in case of… an event.” She smiled sadly. She rolled up the scroll and placed it away quickly.

“All that I’m telling the brats is that Sasuke was taken for training purposes. Naruto should be returned to us in due time.” She said, a thoughtful look coming over her features for a second, and then disappearing like they were never there.

Her eyes turned to Kaji one last time, “I thought you would deserve to know why Sasuke was taken. The reason for the attack and its result I’ll explain when everyone else is here. Your mission after that – should he not be here in that time – is to find and retrieve Naruto, he should be in the village somewhere.” A smile graced her lips as she turned back around and faced Aisu once again.

“I’m still debating on you. I hand someone in mind, but given the current state of things…” She didn’t even bother to finish as she slowly closed her eyes and leaned her head into her hands. She was getting too damn old for this.
