Yay! I want to brag now! Well technically I've already been named Co-Captain for next marching band season. Which I can't wait! There is a guy from the band on our Winterguard and he can throw a 9 with a rifle. He hit our ceiling in the gym once and thats REALLY high. He is so awesome. We do a duet together with just me and him on the floor and he has to toss the flag REALLY high and then I jump onto him and then he catches it flat around me. On time he didn't toss it and I was in midjump and it wasn't pretty. But it was funny. I'm learning how to do rifle now. Because me and Laura (next years captain) Are going to do rifle work during our show. I can toss a quad but I can't catch it right. (but at least I can catch it! whee ) Still have a whole summer to learn though. Okay enough of my bragging. But this guild is so awesome!

Aryah I used to be able to do a really good toss turn around w/ my sabre, but alas, it's been too long... I really like catching behind the back though... Oooh! I really fun toss! Try doing a horizontal w/ your flag, and catching it behind your back ... (sorry to be lamen here, but catch it behind your back w/ the flag on the right, w/ your left hand. and no, you shouldn't have to turn around) whee xp I learned that at a drumb corp camp... among other things ....
they also wanted me to do a one-handed horizontal... umm, I almost took my head off, so... yeeaaah... sweatdrop bump

*gasp* I have found a post for fellow guard lovers! heart I am absolutly in love with guard! I mean, its my life! I am a sophomore and captain of my guard... which can be a bizznatch... but it is worth it! I am so close to the rest of the guard! (there are only 8 of us :3)

my guard does spring guard, not winter....anyway, we picked up first place/superior rating at Fiesta-val in new york a few weeks ago....
so today was our interest meeting and like a bajillion sophmores came! there were no juniors, one freshman and one 8th grade girl........but a bajillion sophmores eek
for our reasons as to why we love colorguard there were a lot of "we're all so close, its like a 2nd family" and "the band guys (especially drummers) are so hot" and "there are soooooo many inside jokes! no whitney, you didnt get us all lost, you just decided to take a different route!" xd xd

I hit a flute a few times... then I purposly hit my friend in the trombone section becasue he was being a cocky little bish during marching practice in the morning...

I love guard and can throw a quad with my rifle! I need to work on it and make it perfect, though, then I'll move on to fives!!!! w00t! I'm the only freshman who can throw even a perfect triple *brag*
Flag doubles are fun as well. biggrin I have been in guard for 6 years, i can throw a five on rifle and do just about anything you tell me to on flag. I love guard so much, i live guard!

My friend Steven, a trombone, was freaking out and clinging to his gf cuz we were about to recieve the gold.. it was hilarious. I once saw a world guard and one of their sabre girls tossed a five with her teeth... it was awesome... or was it catch it with her teeth.. I forgot but she did do something with tossing the sabre with her teeth... I forgot which guard it was... Oh, and the guys on Northern Lights are hot.... doesn't matter if half of them are gay, they are hot and awesome on guard gonk heart
