(Sweet! Nice job Ladyumbra...I had no idea about any of our riddles, though I knew some of the other teams'. It's too bad we missed out on the roleplaying aspect of it though, since I wasn't on to help. Maybe John and Arrin can roleplay a bit more later)

As the islander left to go find the brat, Katherine couldn't help but grin. Whether or not Rachel had planned for the disappearence of Gabriel, she couldn't say, but the Captain was damn pleased about it.

She picked up the islander's abandoned torch and carried it forward down the dark hall, walking quickly so she could scout for any convenient private spaces.

Rachel can't help but to giggle at the Captain's grin. She pauses for a moment and pulls off her boots, "That feels much better," she smiles and wiggles her toes. She ties the boots to the scraps of fabric that were tied to her sheath's belt, back when they were in the jungle.

She turns to see the Captain was rather far down the tunnel, so she runs down to catch up to that impatient woman. Rachel's mind seems to wander off again as she wonders where Gabriel wandered off to, and hopes that the Islander will find him...

The Captain noticed Rachel catching up, and smirked at the lack of boots. Apparently the master-at-arms was just as keen as Katherine was for a little stress relief.

"Taking off clothing already? I like where this is going..."

She made sure to lace her voice with suggestion, not needing to wink to indicate her intentions as Katherine's eyes already burned with them. The torchlight flicked off the warm tan of Rachel's skin, enticing the Captain even further.

She was just about to make another lewd comment when they bumped into another door. Katherine cursed.

Rachel looks at the captain, "Not now..." she then turns to the next door and reads the words that were carved into the door, "This engulfing thing is strange indeed. The greater it grows, the less you see. What is it?"

Rachel sighs, she hated riddles. Her parents would try and stump eachother for entertainment when they were bored. Just reading the riddles off the doors brought back memories she didn't want to remember. She makes a fist and punches the door. Forgetting the door was made of stone, the sound of a few bones snapping was heard.

'That was stupid of me,' she thinks feeling the sharp pain from her hand soot down her whole right arm. She lets her arm go limp, and tries to not show she was in pain, waiting for the Captain to answer the riddle so they could continue...

Gabriel hears loud footsteps coming from the middle path, his first thought was one of those Islanders was returning to the main room to find and kill him, he looks left, then right either way could be safe or dadly but what one to take? He finally makes a choice and darts down the left path, hoping that whatever was comming up from the middle path wouldn't find him if he went as far as he possibly could.

He passes by a part of the chamber that looked like there used to be a door there, he wondered if the team that went down that path opened it. Maybe he could meet up with that team if there weren't killed by the Islander that went with them. "Great..." he mutters, "I either get grabbed by whatever was coming up from the middle path, or have a chance to get grabbed by what went down this path..." Both choices didn't seem too great, but he kept going down the left path, hoping it was safer than what was in the middle one.

Katherine glared at the riddle. These doors were already annoying, she had half a mind to go find the architect and use him as a battering ram to get through the temple.

Sighing, Katherine leaned back against it to regard the distracted Rachel with keen eyes. Apparently the door was pissing off the master-at-arms just as much as the Captain, if the punching and the glaring was anything to go by.

The torch guttered and flickered, dying down from lack of fuel. Katherine frowned at it. "If we don't get out of here soon, we'll be reading these riddles in total darkness..."

Rachel looks to the Captain again, "Isn't that just great..." She is cut short by the sound of a large stone door sliding away, opening more of the path. Rachel walks forward, and continues on, hoping to get to that third door like the entrance door said. Then maybe they could get off this island, too many old memories kept wandering through her mind, almost making her insane.

"Lets go," Sheturns her head towards the Captain, "that torch does look rather weak." Rachel begind running down the path, wondering if she can get the Captain to run as well so they could get past that third door.

Left holding the sputtering torch, Katherine glared at Rachel's retreating back. Just when she'd finally had her cornered... with a sigh, she adjusted her bandana and started a light jog to catch up with the master-at-arms. At length it became apparent that this would not be enough to keep up, so Katherine growled and stepped up the pace, running flat out now.

When she finally caught up to the blonde islander, the flame had nearly gone out. Squinting in the darkness, Katherine brought the torch close up so the words on the next door could be read.

Rachel looks at the golden carvings, "Great another riddle..." She takes a deep breath and reads the words out loud, "What crosses the river but doesn't move?" She almost punches this door with her other hand, but she didn't need another broken wrist.

Rachel pulld her boots from her back and puts them back on. She then kicks the door a few times, making sure not to hurt herself, just to get rid of some frustration. "I am beginning to hate this island..." Rachel tells the Captain, "this place brings back so many memories of my home that I hoped to forget."

Gabriel continues running down the path, passing two more places that appeard as if a door used to be there. He wonders if the team that wnent down this path really did open all the doors... He notices some light up ahead and runs through it into a white marble room. There he sees Jamie, Nicolas, Arrin, and John. He keeps looking around, looking for Rachel and Katherine to no avail.

Where could those two be? Could they still be openeing their own doors, or could they be dead from whatever made those footsteps back in the entrance room. He shudders at the thought, and keeps his mind open to Katherine and Rachel being alive.

"I'm beginning to hate it too."

Katherine glared at the door. This was getting downright ridiculous. How many stupid riddles would they have to solve before they could find a nice comfortable place, preferably with a bed? Sighing in frustration she gave the door a once over and thought hard for a minute.

The torch in her hand caught her attention by flaring, signaling the approaching end of its usefulness. Looking back and forth quickly between the dying torch and the riddle on the door, the Captain made a decision. As pleasurable as it would be to have the master-at-arms alone in the dark, trapped against a stone door, Katherine had a responsibility to her crew. Or something like that. At the very least she wouldn't let that b*****d navy brat take over her ship just because she got a little in endless tunnels.

With a sigh, Katherine gave Rachel on last longing look. "It's a bridge."

Rachel smiles, at least she wasn't the only one in that long tunnel that wanted to leave as fast as possible. When Katherine said her answer the floor began to rumble and the door started cracking, seeing small specks of light from the cracks she thought that they finally go to the end. To celebrate, Rachel pushes Katherine onto the western wall kissing her deeply.

The door had crumbled down to dust and Rachel breaks the kiss, "Hopefully that will last until we are back at the ship," Rachel winks at Katherine and starts down the path, aiming for the light at the end of it.

Filled with both the joy of being almost free and the pleasure of being kissed, Katherine stood, stunned, against the wall. ventually she gathered herself enough to lick her lips and hurry off down the path after Rachel. She walked quickly, filled with purpose now and anticpation of getting back aboard the Dementia.

She caught up to Rachel and winking, stepped forward into the light.

Rachel walks through the light as well, then looks around to see everone in this large white marble room. "Well, looks like nobody died..." She was interupted by a very familair thing...

Watching the middle path waiting for Rachel and Katherine, Gabriel started to grow bored. When he heard Rachel's voice he instantly ran toward it and tackled Rachel and Katherine. He had a huge grin on his face knowing that they were alive.

Rachel pushes Gabriel aside, "We can talk later Gabriel..." She turns to the large door at the end of the room. "I think we all need to push it open, what do you say Captain?" She turns and looks at Katherine. For some reason the Captain didn't seem all there now, Maybe she shouldn't have kissed Katherine?

Rachel walks up to the large doors, looking them over for any markings, and perhaps another damned riddle... She puts her broken hand onto the door, she winces in pain as the door shakes and opens to show an Altar room. The altar had golden coins scattered around it, where on top of the altar were four floating coloured balls of light, one red, one blue, one golden, and one green.

Congratulations to all the teams, you have made it to the Altar Room. In gratitude for opening their temple, the Islanders will allow the fastest team to draw one item from one of the four orbs of light. The rest of the crew will get a small reward later.

Since John Rackham opened more doors than his partner Arrin Shepherd, John gets first choice of what Orb to draw a Specialty Item out of, then Arrin will get to chose from the three remaining Orbs. Once both have chosen their Orbs, The Quartermaster will come to award the prizes pirate

Note: The Orbs represent the basic elements, Fire (Red), Water (Blue), Earth (Green), and Wind (Gold) the Specialty Item will reflect the Element chosen.

John glared at Rachel, "I have an intensive desire to leave this place and leave you locked in it forever if possible."

As far as John is concerned he'd rather have the coins that god only knew what from a glowing ball of light but it couldn't hurt. he debated the blue one and the yellow one for a moment before motioning towards the yellow one." Looks good to me. " Bit who was once again upon his shoulders chittered in agreement.
