Rubbing the back of his neck guiltily, Cody shook his head a little, "Naw - that wasn't really serious," he apologized, "I've just been a little on edge of late. Good move on the owner's part. Those guys are pretty hard to uproot once you've given them even an inch."

His mouth twisted into a slight frown, however - he wasn't terribly keen on making a bad impression, mostly because that wouldn't make his day go any better but... But he really needed to figure this out. "Then again, maybe it's a little serious - you know where I might be able to find some serious muscle?" And or... drug dealers? >>;

That question made the fox grin, his eyes dancing. "That is a definate questiong to answer with a yes. I'll have to take you up to my house mistress to get her vote on whom you should take on that with." he nods, jumping over the counter and landing beside the unicorn with the grin on his face still. "She's upstairs temping for the owner while he's with his mate." he nods and walks a few feet, turning around to glance at the other, "This way please."

Blinking once more, Cody followed bemusedly. Well... this was a step in the right direction, right? Generally. Enh. Might get him close to the right circles...

But he was running out of time. If building up a network of contacts took a wee bit too long... he was going to have to ditch this plan for a load of sleeping pills from the local drugstore.

The fox walks up the spiral staircase and towards an office looking door. He knocks a few times, still grinning as he wags his tail behind him.

"Who is it?" calls a female voice from inside.

"Mom, it's Serina. I've got someone who needs to request some...muscle." He smirks at the unicorn, flicking his ears.

"Hang on." a moment later the door opens to show a very human female. She blinks up at the two, being a tad shorter than them both. "Well then. Come on into the office. Serina, go back to work. Darin is still tending to Aure so scram. We need someone at the bar." she scowls at the fox, sending him scurrying back to his job as she held the door open for the unicorn.

A man, so it seemed, was lounging on one of the couches in the office, his shaggy black hair covered over his sea green eyes. He was tall, reaching six feet and was dressed in straight black shirt, jeans, and shoes. He blinks and watches the unicorn. He was muscular under the shirt, but it was hard to tell against the lean figureation of his body.

Another person was standing beside the other, his own long black hair looking odd against his very pale skin. He watches the unicorn just like the other. His clothing was a simple tank top and jeans, finished with combat boots and arm braces, he too was muscular yet lean and the tank top showed it off.. The two were related in some way, though it was hard to tell since he was much paler than the one on the couch.

And for some reason... here, it seemed, it would be much easier to go about the asking business. Because while it'd felt a little... imprudent to ask the little fox about crime rings et cetera, this looked like a place of business - or how he'd always imagined a place of this kind of business to look.

Nodding slightly in acknowledgement to all those present but focusing on the woman, Cody tipped an imaginary hat, "Morning, miss. The name's Cody - your time and attention's appreciated more than you can imagine. I gather you've got something in the department of mercenary-ship to offer?"

The lady chuckles and shuts the door, closing out all sounds from the club below, "No need for the politeness, I get enough from the boys at home." her face turns serious, "First before I answer that question though. Why is it you need muscle?"

The longer haired being nods back to the unicorn, crossing his arms over his chest. He looked very comfortable standing there, his eyes half shut now.

The one on the couch also nods back, sitting up and putting his hands behind his head, streatching a bit. He watches both anthro and his house mistress now.

Cody shrugged a little, again shifting the bag slung over his shoulder, "It'd still be a mess of me to barge in here without a little formality," he pointed out genially. "But if we're going to cut past the formal language, so much the better."

He frowned slightly, "I've got a little dispute with a vampire going on and what I'm really after isn't actually back-up," he glanced at the two other men. "Something more along the lines of a knock-out drug, actually."

The long haired one grins, interupting the woman before she could speak. "I can help you there. It may sound odd, but i'm a doctor and I can get my hands on unusual drugs and things." he smirks, pushing away from the wall and walking to the unicorn. "The names Kilikana." he holds his hand out to the other, a smirk on his face.

"Kana. You don't have to do this, son." speaks up the other from the couch, standing up but not moving. "Getting yourself in situations like this may be a liking of yours, but please, learn to be careful."

The woman sighs, "Do I not get a say?" she grumbles slightly as the two mers' ignore her completely. "Fine. You can use whatever you find useful in Kana and his father, Seakin. So long as they are willing to." she smiles and walks over to the desk and leans against it, arms folded across her chest.

Doctor? Oh yeah - the day was totally starting to look up. Because after this little debacle... it'd be real useful to get some information on the local conception of medicine, especially for someone becoming steadily more interested in going back to college to actually get his MD.

Cody shook Kilikana's hand gratefully and glanced briefly at his apparent father, "Hey, look, I'm not too keen on getting either of you involved if you can't afford it - but if you could maybe get me a couple doses of tamazepam or triazolam - maybe some diazepam? - I'd be in your debt."

Kana smirks, "Those'll be hard to get at this short notice, since you seem to need them soon. But I'm sure Izzi or Jamison will be glad to loan some help. They are both Master Magicians, Izzi the lesser of the two." he chuckles.

"Lesser of the two? Any day I'd take that as an insult, my dearest Kilikana." a kitty steps out from behind a bookcase, wearing nothing but a pair of cut off jeans. He smirks, hands on his hips, his hair at it's natural coloring. Purple strip and the rest a golden blondish color. He flicks his tail and snickers, walking over to the mer and unicorn. "But I'll take it as a misunderstanding for now and accept your saying I'll help this unicorn out." he eyes the other, seeming to now what was in the bag. "He seems to need it."

Kana chuckles, throwing an arm around the cats shoulder, "This is Izzi. One of the youngest Masters recorded in many centuries." He snickers then winces as the kitty cat steps on his foot. "Ow." he mutturs and removes his arm, stepping away.

Izzi shakes his head, turning his full attention to the unicorn. "I'll take up whatever need that is needed to fill in. Either medical or muscle."

Now this could actually be useful, seeing as how Madison had totally failed to be any sort of help whatsoever. "Magician?" he asked curiously, now focused on the cat. "You going to summon me up a Fiend from the Realm of Knockout Drugs?" he teased lightly.

It really would be good to have a magic-user at his back in this sort of situation. Unfortunately, Cody had retained lingering mistrust of spell-casters from his vampiric days on Earth, not to mention he wasn't intent on getting any more people directly involved than he absolutely had to.

Izzi chuckles at the teasing, flicking his ears foreward. "I might just summon whatever you want." he winks playfully and smirks, hands still on his hips. "So, you gonna take me up for your little vampire....dispute as you said yourself?"

Kana had moved to stand beside his father. He was only a few inches shorter than the older mer, but he managed to fix that up with the intelligence in his eyes. Not saying that Seakin Sr. was unintelligent, but that Kana had way more.

Seakin had folded his arms across his chest, a near protective air around him as his son stood beside him.

The mistress and temp owner just sat and watched Izzi talk.

Cody laughed a little, "I'll take you up on your offer - but not to the vamp himself, kiddo. He's not the sort of guy you want on your tail, I don't think. So how much will it be for a knockout drug that can't be counter-acted?"

Admittedly perhaps not the best way he could've phrased it - because it would have to be deterred by whatever immunity Arthur had placed on him. But he had faith in whatever it was the rat had done, faith that it'd probably be able to withstand even the machinations of a Master Magician or whatever.

The kitty cat smirks, laughing a little himself. "There is no need to worry about me. And kiddo might just get your rear end scortched a bit there Cody." he grins, "I am merely lending a hand, so there is no charge. And if there was a charge, I'd have declined anyways. I won't be using any real medicines, but my actual magick." he holds a hand up to his side, a near shrugging expression, "When I lay a spell, nothing breaks it."

"Except for Jamison." mutturs Kana under his breath.

Izzi glares at the youth, "I heard that." he snaps his fingers and Kana squawks, leaping in the air as a phoenix snaps at him. "Lesson learned?"

"Yes! Lesson learned now call the dammed flaming bird off!" he scoots away franticly from the eagle sized phoenix.

Cody blinked. Oh lordy. The damage he could do with a pet--flamey--flying--thingy... Like what this Izzi kid had just set on his housemate--just--just--whoa.

But that wasn't what he'd come for, so he was going to have to resist. Resist, damnit! Okay. "Free spell? Remind me to look you up next time I know someone in search of Love Potion #9. So, Mister Master," he spread out his hands, arms wide, "Do your worst."

On second thought... his mind screamed - maybe this was a totally stupid idea. When was the last time someone offered to do something nice for free. Shiiiit. He gritted his teeth slightly, hoping he hadn't just stepped into the worst sort of trap - namely, the kind you kicked yourself over again and again later on.
