Someone with as much hot air to them as me? xd I am of the opinion that everyone can play an instrument of some sort. Whether it's voice, percussion, strings, wind, piano, triangle, whatever. It's just a matter of finding the right one. You are apparently a strings person. So is my brother. I'm hopeless at anything stringed. You should hear the noises I made out of my brother's violin once. Actually no... you shouldn't. I've actually always wanted to play the harp. I've been told I had the perfect fingers for it - I just don't have the harp. I'd probably be crap at it even if I did. Strings just hate me. Well technically Cloud pwns Sephiroth in the game... Oooh Omnislash is so great!

TatteredAngel Any chance someone around here raises chickens? I have done in the past. Why? Maggie>> As for "strings" it's really only the Psaltery, and really only because I don't have the finger strength to hold the strings down most of the time. And now and then I grow my nails out.

TeaDidikai TatteredAngel Any chance someone around here raises chickens? I have done in the past. Why? My sister rescued a baby banty that was wandering lost in the back field, and after several days of behaving like any old chick, the thing seems suddenly quite ill and we can't figure out why. While I am inclined to cut my losses and let whatever's going on just happen or not, it's being treated like a pet, so... any thoughts on what might be going on would be appreciated. It's not wanting to move much, and when it does, it sort of flaps its wings out at odd angles and lurches some, like it's balance is suddenly off, and I know that isn't much to go on, but I figured I'd ask just in case there were any ideas.

Take it to a vet?
It could be a number of things- since it was found in a field, it could have injuries that you aren't aware of which would account for some of the symptoms.

I was doing a lot of ceramics, so my nails weren't long, but because of the clay, they were dry and cracked and bled too much. I don't think blood makes for good tone on a guitar.

Depends on what you're playing... ninja When I attempted to take up piano with my theory teacher he gave out about my fingernails nonstop. But I like them way too much to cut them. They're just so useful! For everything! And for clawing people too! They're the bane of my brother's existence and I'm bloody well proud of it! Anyway. I'm going to a 21st tonight. This means I should go play my scales and exercises before I get horribly inebriated. Hooray!

Say, does anybody know any of the proper etiquette expected out of a gentile when going to a Jewish religious service?
I'll be going to Boys' State, a leadership program where over 1,000 boys ( heart ) stay in a dorm ( heart heart ) for a week ( heart heart heart )and govern a mythical 51st state, and I'll have my [mandatory] pick from a Protestant, Catholic, or Jewish religious service Sunday morning there.
So, if I'm going to pay respects to Hashem, I'd better make sure I'm actually paying respects to Hashem in the first place. whee
