Dreams started coming to him, flashes of battle scenes, people calling to him, a bright flash of light, then the blue sky. His body hurt, but he was content, then he heard a voice from the sky and smiled, closing his eyes.

Riku sat up, drenched in sweat, "Not that dream again," he whispered, shaking his head to clear it. That dream had been coming to him off and one for years, and everytime it played out, he felt sadder somehow. He decided to give up sleeping for that night, it just wasn't going to happen, so he got up and went to the kitchen.

She heard someone outside. Assuming it was either one of the Seishi, the Miko, or Riku, she stopped talking with herself and began humming softly, still staring up at the ceiling.

"mizu ni utsuru
tsuki o miru kara
yurete shimau
zujoo ni aru
hikari wa sore o
tada miteru dake . . .
"

As Riku was going back to his room, he heard her singing. He stopped at the door to listen, closing his eyes. He was still unsettled by the dream he'd had, but he found the song comforting for some reason.

((Hey, what is that song?))

((Perfect World ^^ by Chika Sakamoto. It's a Nuriko song.))

Eventually she fell asleep. Even though her mind was blank, she continued to dream.

She was up in the mountains. Blood flecked the snow, and pain lanced through her every time she breathed. She could feel blood flowing from the corner of her mouth, her chest, and her shoulder. Her back ached.

Where am I? Is this what's happening to Liang? No, it's too . . . me. Who am I?

She woke in cold sweat. Sitting up, she remained that way until her breathing and pulse returned to normal. What's going on? She ran a hand through her bangs. A glow caught her attention. Her symbol was glowing softly. Nuriko . . . is this your memories? Am I supposed to remember? Sighing, she went outside.

((I thought it was familar!))

She saw Riku not far away, sitting under a tree, away from Tamahome and Kyo. He was staring off into space, his hair was mess up and flopped over on the side of his head rather then his normally neat middle part. His profile was visible, and his mark was glowing faintly red in the darkness. He looked sad, but very beautiful too.

Lian paused, staring at Riku. Something flickered in the back of her head.

Hotohori . . . Your Majesty? Is that you? Who was that? It seemed like her, yet . . . not her.

"Riku?" she asked softly. She didn't realize that her bangs had flopped to one side, and she had a smudge of dirt
((that had appeared at random xD)) near the corner of her left eye.

Nuriko? No wonder, I knew you were near...

Riku stood up, his symbol almost looked like Hotohori, "I had a strange dream, of war and blood." His voice was a bit different, deeper. "I died in the dream, but it wasn't really me."

I have missed you, we almost were together before, but I died again. I am sorry I was not there.

It's alright. You had duties. It's so good to be reincarnated again. And as a woman too.

Lian didn't know if Riku could hear the voices, but she certainly could hear them, loud and clear.

"I had a dream too," she replied. It sounded a touch deeper, but feminine nonetheless. "Pain, cold, and blood. I was . . . in mountains . . . I think I died in that dream too, but . . . it wasn't exactly me. I thought it was Lian, but it's not him either."

Yes, you always have been a woman at heart.

Riku stepped forward again and nodded, "I wondered why I was drawn to you from the first time I saw you. It's them... can you hear them too?"

I know I had to stay behind, but there was so much death, I can not help but think if I had been there...

Mmm . . . No, it would have been too dangerous. That wolf-man practically tore me to shreds. I couldn't bear the thought of you meeting my fate as well.

"Yes, I do," Lian said quietly. "Are they . . . the original Nuriko and Hotohori?"

I've missed you, Your Majesty.

Nuriko, I have missed you too...

Riku smiled a bit and nodded, "I think so, we must be their reincarnations. They knew that Konan was in trouble, and came back now to save it. I have admired Emperor Saihitei all my life, I guess this is why."

Heh heh . . . looks like Chiriko's descendant seems to have taken a liking to me . . . what'll you do, Hotohori?

Lian fiddled with a lock of hair.

"Well, I never really thought about that . . . I guess my parents called me Xiao-Lian . . . "talented graceful willow" . . . for a reason, then." She laughed weakly. "I guess the 'talent' is my symbol, then." She smiled. "But it's good to know there're those in the past who still care."

"Darn straight we care, my reincarnation," the original Nuriko said, amused. "I'm just amazed Suzaku reincarnated me as a woman. It's a dream come true. Though . . ." he mused for a moment. "You could do without being shy."

"Nuriko!" she said softly. She caught Riku looking and blushed. "He's talking to me . . . the original Nuriko," she explianed.

Well, you were the second prettiest man ever born, but Chiriko will not have you. A deep chuckle sounded...

Riku smiled, "He was? What did he say?" He was blushing himself because of Nuriko and Hotohori's playful banter. "This could get a bit confusing."

And you my son, you should stop being so shy as well, do what your heart commands.

Riku blushed again, "Now Hotohori's talking to me."

Mika still hadn't slept, nor even stepped foot into her room. She had allowed the Priestess to use it for her needs, so at the moment, Mika didn't need it. All of the other warriors had been given their own rooms, much to the chagrin of the other bandits. Sighing, Mika looked down from her spot in the tree. She had staked out the main road through Mount Reikaku, to stop anyone who had a horse. So far, she had gathered almost enough horses. One for Nuriko, one for Chiriko, the Prince had one already, one for Tamahome, one for Hotohori and one for the Priestess... that just means I need one

Now, she was alone. She had sent the others back to camp with the horses, to water them, feed them, and prep them for the ride out. As Mika waited, she cradled her arm a bit, to keep the pressure off of it. It still hurt. It probably would hurt for a while. Or rather... she was going to keep it to where it hurt for the longest amount of time possible while letting it heal. It was odd, but that was what she did.

As Mika waited, she saw a merchant coming down the road towards the town, two horses hitched up to his cart. Or rather, one hitched up and the other trotting along the back. Glancing down at the horse, Mika's eyes widened while her face shifted to that of a smirk. She hopped down out of the tree, causing the man to stop. "Well well well... don't you know? You have to pay a toll to go through this mountain?" A small fireball appeared in her hands, as she tossed it up and down. "Normally, we only charge 10 mon, but seeing as we're in need of horses... I'll take that lovely stallion hitched to the back of your wagon."

The man, frightened by the fire weilding woman, nodded. With a grin, she motioned for him to unhitch the horse, which he did, bringing the reigns over to her. The fire in her hand disappeared, as she allowed the man to go back on his way. Mika smiled, as the man continued down the path. She gave the horse a friendly stroke on his neck, as she lead it back to the camp. Mika could tell what the horse was just by looking at it. There were rivulets of bloody sweat slipping off the horse. It wasn't really blood that dripped out of their pores, even though it did look like it. She may not be the most intelligent of bandits, but she knew this breed of horse. They were used by a group of bandits in Ounen, and were specially bred. Mika had only seen one other, and now she owned one.

Once she arrived in the camp, she took the horse to the back where there was a psuedo stable set up. Mika grinned, as she slipped off the saddle, and began to brush it. "What to name you? Hmmm..." she smirked, looking at the roan horse carefully. She noticed the shield shaped white blaze atop his forehead, which made a name snap into her head. "Guardian. That is your name, Guardian."

It didn't take Mika long to finish brushing her new horse, Guardian. She made sure everything was secure before she tied him to one of the trees, near a container of water. The current leader had a lot of things left to do, and she couldn't sleep until they were finished. She could already feel the sleep trying to sink in, which she wouldn't allow. Shaking her head violently, she paused to look at her reflection in the water. Mika sighed. I'm too noticiable. Anyone who I have robbed would be able to recognize me. Hell, I'm sure they have my image in the palace and other places. She sighed once more.

Taking the blade she had used earlier, Mika turned her head and grabbed her hair. With a single slice, she took off most of her crimson locks. The shorter hair now fell to about her chin, which she didn't mind. "Hmmm..." Taking a few locks of the hair in her face, she started slicing those off as well at varying lengths to give herself bangs. Once she had fluffed them a little, Mika grinned. "There... now I don't look quite the same..." She only wished she had a way of altering her hair color a touch. Then, she could disguise herself even further.

Mika had still yet to change, and still had Tamahome's shirt over her shoulders to hide the blood. She smiled a little, before sighing. She would have to return it to him before they left. Creeping back into the base, and making sure that nobody saw her, Mika ended up noticing the Prince and Nuriko talking. Shrugging, she stepped back inside and went to her room. She hoped she could sneak into her room without being detected. She wasn't quite in the mood to deal with getting slapped again.

Once she slipped into her room, she went digging through her trunk, trying to find another outfit. Mika had a few of them, mostly ones she had stolen off of merchants. Settling on a pair of black pants, a firey red-orange robe(which looked more masculine than feminine), and a roll of binding cloth, Mika hid behind the screen and changed, binding down her breasts so that she looked more like a boy. Lastly, she ripped off two long strips off of the robe she had been wearing, which was black, and tied one around her head and the other around her waist. She grinned, and slipped back out of her room, Tamahome's shirt in her hand. "Now... where is he?"
