There was still a very small amount of comfort she was able to draw from the woman Jeon. Perhaps because she was the same gender as her, but it felt easier to talk with her. Sort of like a motherly vibe. Breathing in again Lahlil let her chest puff out more to be less of a slouch and made certain toisten carefully. She was a bit surprised to hear how flippiant she spoke about the blood moon while the visions were so clearly fresh in her mind. I'm sure they are just putting on airs for us as forgien dignitaries.. And even more importantly what the marbles am I supposed to say about the alliance? fingers twiddling it was few passing moments before she came up with an answer. "As far as our knowledge extends there is nothing threatening as of yet... But.. you don't get to stay on top without being prepared, and in this case, having an ally to count on. Our offer is one of defense." Letting the breath she was holding in out Lahlil quickly sought for the words she needed, not wanting to make it sound like she thought they were weak or anything. "I mean.. A village as impressive as yours.. of course your enemies would be the scoundrel type to fight dirty from the shadows. They'd be a fool to fight you head on, and considering how.. preferable our current arrangement is we would be remiss to let something so foul happen to our favorite neighbours!" A small little clap marked the end of her speech, a little silly but she couldn't help but feel a giddy sense of satisfaction for coming up with something so professional on the spot. It felt like someone else was piloting her body and she was just watching from afar.
Rinka's eyes widened at the sudden tonal shift of her partner. Just a second ago, she had been literally shaking in her boots, but now Lahlil was striking back with stinging retorts. Was the meek, shy girl just an act? Was Rinka finally seeing the real Lahlil? Whatever the case, it was a welcomed change of pace. A smirk crept its way onto Rinka's face, emboldened by her partner's advance. "Unspoken pact can go..." she'd say, momentarily trailing off as the words she wanted eluded her. After a few brief moments of obvious contemplation, Rinka snapped and gestured to the Twin Kages. "Ah... unanswered! Chie need friends. You need friends. Dangerous world..." Hopefully the pair would be able to clearly discern what the oni meant to say through her accented and childlike speech. It was a crazy world. Kogarashi on the rise, demons mucking about, general debauchery from bandits... They'd be foolish to think they could handle everything on their own, and the twins didnt look like fools.

__ Guarded by the light which permitted a cloak of invisibility, Zhi soon located the two Uzushio diplomats she'd been sent to retrieve at any cost. She descended from infiltrating aerial approach next to a window which allowed one to peer directly into the room where peace talks were being held. Her light-bending technique was dispelled to reveal her presence in full VORTEX garbs and adorned mask to those inside who'd take the time to notice. Zhi reached out toward the window and a pale white glow of jinton surrounded it before disintegrating the entire amorphous structure, and only that much. Zhi could replace it afterward. She definitely recognized Lahlil from everything that had been going on during the events of the Blood Moon, but Rinka was harder to put a finger on. Still, they were standing with each other so it seemed safe to assume. First, she'd address everyone present, mostly looking toward the Arashikage as she started with an apology, "I'm sorry for interrupting, Arashikages..." Her gaze moved about the room and finally settled on her mission targets, "... and everyone else. Lahlil Nevarra and Rinka, Uzukage Chie Saegahara requests your immediate return." Zhi's airborne posture suggested alertness and her slightly muffled, mild tone of voice determined her calm. Zhi didn't want to be here longer than necessary. Her orders were simply to retrieve these two, not to join their conversations or concern herself with the progress of the forming alliance. Given what she thought she knew so far, Zhi was that much less inclined to appreciate the Arashigakure company but she wouldn't make a point of that. There was a very unlikely chance that she could still be misunderstanding the damning evidence she'd come across thus far. Until they were back in Uzushiogakure, Zhi had to act under the premise that they were possibly in enemy territory.
__ Kenshin had little to add to the conversation about diplomacy. As per usual, he wanted his leaders to weigh in on such matters. The isolationist believed that diplomacy was a terrible waste of time. If they minded their own business while Arashi minded its own then the world would be fine. One of the emissaries was a very charismatic speaker which was to be expected. Perhaps she was compensating for her lack of paperwork or general preparedness. Kenshin's boredom was quickly alleviated, however, when the window was disintegrated and an agent entered the room. Immediately he formed a one-handed sign and felt the veins around his eyes tense in the formation of his byakugan. She did not have any backup agents to his understanding in the range of his eyes. He listened to the feminine voice of the agent and raised an eyebrow. "And we're supposed to believe that? And you better pay for that window you just destroyed." Kenshin's voice was seething as he continued to use his byakugan to scan the area. He was on high alert and ready to carry out any order from his kage.

__ The majority of Zhi attention was on the female pair she'd been sent to retrieve. However, the brief pause before the dark knight at the side of the room spoke against her request with scornful doubt. If she weren't on a mission as a VORTEX operative she would've gladly gave Kenshin the raspberry of a lifetime. 'Ugh... what's taking sempai so darn long!?' However, a far far more urgent matter caught her attention as she tuned back into Masato's fight thanks to their shared Enlightening Brand. "Uhh... hey? W-Wrath? What do you think you're doing?" Zhi pretty much seemed to be talking to herself at this point, and effectively failed to hide her concern as she pivoted midair to face in the direction that Masato was from the village. The VOID kunoichi he had been fighting did something and now he was apparently on a literal warpath. Choosing not to waste time here, she would take the initiative to try saving Masato from making an even bigger mistake than he almost did in destroying their own village during the Blood Moon. Zhi snapped her fingers to create a new window with his crystal release then flew away at top speed to intercept the looming threat of destruction that was headed for Arashigakure.
__ Kenshin's byakugan viewed a hostile target wearing an Uzu headband approaching the gates. This happened as the agent in front of him spoke to herself. The police captain then looked around the room and came to a realization. "Did they send diplomats just to distract and invade us?!" Immediately Kenshin retrieved the scroll of the legendary Nuibari blade of Kirigakure from the desk at an incredible speed. When he unsealed the blade for the first time, the rapier master felt the needle blade's grip in his right hand. The infinitely long spool of razor wire settled at his hip as he claimed the fabled blade for himself. "We're under attack! An Uzu hostile has approached the gate!" Captain Kosei informed his leaders without looking at them as they were already in his view. The agent from earlier had already left the area to do God knows what at this point. "You two are under arrest for espionage!" The policeman's voice thundered with ire as he would now only move to protect his home.Kenshin unsheathed his rapier with his left hand and pointed it at the diplomats. He coated the blade in chakra to dull the blade, but allow for him to channel the gentle fist through it freely. After this, he lunged for Lahlil and attempted to use the One Hundred and Twenty-Eight palms combination. This would lock down the tenketsu and her ability to mold chakra for long enough to transport her to the CORE Compound, but would not be lethal or permanently damaging in any way. He would attempt to perform the same technique on Rinka immediately after for the same purpose. He had the legendary sword ready in his right hand should he need it. Kenshin needed to attempt to subdue them completely or risk the perceived invaders assaulting the Arashikages or even innocent civilians.

Quite a lot happened in not a whole lot of time, and the lot of it spelled toruble for the ones now in the office. The figure suddenly becoming invisible that appeared before them turned the entire mood sour, with Jay immediately rising from his seat and placing a hand on the rather long handle of Magni. The weapon hummed at his touch, and Jeon, in her infinite irritation, managed only to rise herself. "What is the meaning of this! I sincerely hope this isn't how you plan on garnering our favor-" but if more was to be said they were cut off by the rumble that set off behind them. Jay turned, seeing the boom at the gates. Jeon, immediately, opened her hand, summoning the weapon that had only that same day been christened for her. The hum coming off of Magni was nothing to the singing whine of Gae Bolg. She kept her eyes on the trio until Jay gasped. He was looking at the gates on his Astrolab, seeing the destruction that had been caused there.
"What in the seven hells-" she spoke, but was caught off guard by the woman whom had shattered her window somehow fixing it, and then taking off again. By now, they were furious, confused, and feeling like they might want to crush someone into the ground off rip. As kenshin moved to act, Jay left a single scroll on the table. "Kenshin, do NOT let them leave! Hino! Oro! Cern!" Jay ordered in the commanding voice he likely hadn't taken with Kenshin in years. Friendly leaders were gone, now they were once again the firm thunderously powerful warlords set forth by the empire.
With a step, the duo cleared the window once more shattering it as they flew forth in a blur of motion and cackling lightning. Hino with his dragon mask, the secretary now wearing her black-horned stag mask, and Oro with the spiraling snake mask all now stood in the office in much the same level of speed. Hino, highest rank behind Kenshin, spoke to the group. "Okay. No one try anything, and no one will be hurt. For now. Now would be a good time to explain yourselves," the stern voiced man spoke to them, sounding less harsh than he would have in the past. In fact, he sounded downright... friendly. Whether a ruse or sincere was anyone's guess. ""

tab Three brief heartbeats. That was all the time it took for all of Lahlil's plans to come to an end before they even began. Seconds after she finished her speech a masked shinobi torn down a entire section of the wall to the office building, or perhaps flat out disintegrate was a better term. Although whoever was behind the mask seemed to know of her well enough to pick her out of the crowd as she called both Rinka and her names. Her smile and giddy emotions fled from her at once, and left in their place a deflated smile. Her mind already at work in some sort of attempted excuse for such a break-in. Ohh marbles! What am I going to do? I need to get ahead of this! They must know I'm not affiliated with whoever that was, I mean their voice sounded familiar for sure but that could just be a genjutsu of some sort.. Would an imposter really know all of their names too though? Maybe the hidden storm really did have enemies in the shadows and they just got the better of her.
Just as soon as she came the masked intruder was off. The wall was remade in it's entirety and the two of them were left with the fallout. Kenshin, the angry gate guardian from earlier thrusted his weapon in a few accusatory jabs. A feeling of nausea overtook ger suddenly and the corners of her eye sight went black, it felt for a second she might even pass out from the anxiety right up until Lahlil felt the blade strike her. In her stupor she briefly lost track of time, with only the feeling white hot lightning burning through her body to let her know she had gotten hit. Confusion passed over her face, her body felt sluggish and drained but at least her nausea dissipated. Trying to stay upright Lahlil threw up both to show her surrender. Her voice hard to find ragged out a reply. "Please I.. We aren't sure who that even was. Our mission was only a friendly one.. We'll cooperate with whatever we need to prove our innocence.." Her heart felt like it was ready to leap from her chest.
Rinka's eyes followed the tip of the blade weilded by the police chief as chaos erupted around them. She watched as it soared through the air. She watched as the knife tip dug into Lahlil. But most of all, She watched as every ounce of trust she had for the foreign village was sliced to ribbons. As the blade turned its point towards her, Rinka went into full survival mode. The servos within her false arm whizzed as chakra rushed through her, manifesting in a domed shield which would intercept the man's attack. As the blade bounced off the oni's defenses, she would pivot on her feet, twirling to place herself between her downed partner and their enemy.
The cheerful smile and sunny glow drained from her face almost as fast as the man summoned his blade. Rinka's brow furrowed as her eyes narrowed on on Kenshin, mind racing on how best to eliminate him. She could pull out all the stops and take down the whole tower, but that would run the risk of killing both her and Lahlil. Damn it, this is why she preferred not to get involved. Why did she ever agree to do this stupid mission. As Rinka's mechanical mind raced to think of a solution, the trio on masked nin made their approach. Rinka quickly tightened her stance, taking a half step back towards Lahlil and baring her jagged teeth like a cornered animal.
The trio only posed a new threat as far Rinka was concerned; how could they promise no one would be hurt when they opened with an attack? It was now four on two, but Rinka had a secret weapon. Careful not to let any of the four ninja before them out of her sight, Rinka began to focus on the seal upon her chest with every intent of unleashing the full power of her curse mark. At least that was the plan until Lahlil's outburst of compliance stopped Rinka dead in her tracks.
What? Why? These people just struck you with a blade, and you are just surrendering? Rinka was genuinely dumbstruck; if someone threatens you, you don't just roll over and take it. Maybe this was some trick? Yeah, that had to be it; it was the only logical explanation. Rinka would turn her attention back to the enemy, shield still humming with chakra, as she waited for the next moves to play out. Whatever Lahlil had in mind, it had better be worth it.

__ Lahlil was quickly dispatched of by his combination of dulled rapier thrusts meant to lock her access to chakra temporarily. The same strike against Rinka was unsuccessful when she blocked his first sword thrust with the chakra shield mechanism. Kenshin was too enraged to be bewildered by the curious contraption. When Lahlil's words weakly escaped her lips proclaiming their innocence of any wrongdoing Kenshin only felt his ire grow. He was certain that these people were sent as a distraction by this village so that they could assault Arashigakure more seamlessly. Kenshin's head was throbbing, she must be lying because nothing about any of this made sense. He took comfort in only needing to focus on his orders from his village's sworn leaders. "Silence! We're not falling for any more of your lies! You have no rights here!" His voice was booming and aggressive as he reared his blade back and resumed his fencing stance. "You're both coming with me for detainment." Kenshin knew that the emissaries needed to be detained so that they could get to the bottom of this. His byakugan then picked up the presence of a six-tailed slug randomly appearing at the gates. "What now?!" As much as Kenshin was tempted to go to the gates to defend against the maelstrom of threats, he was bound by duty to detain these so-called emissaries. His eyes then narrowed on Rinka once again as he performed a brief sword salute before pointing the rapier and firing a powerful blast of chakra to destroy the shield. This would likely send the oni girl flying backward toward the wall if it were not braced for. Kenshin would then lunge forward once again. This time he intended to attack her with an even more powerful palm combination to lock her tenketsu down. His goal was to disrupt every single tenketsu point in her body. The police captain would not stand for Rinka resisting arrest. Kenshin's movements were a blur of incredibly agile and precise movements. If these strikes were successful then Kenshin and the other CORE operatives would have no trouble arresting them and escorting them to the CORE Compound for interrogation.

tab The seconds around her felt like they were stretched into an eternity as Lahlil watched the wave of chakra echo off of Kenshin's sword. Without even really thinking about it Lahlil's concern was centred entirely on her partner Rinka's well being. Leaping inbetween the attack Lahlil focused desperately to force her chakra to respond, whatever attack she had suffered earlier had locked up her ability to mold her chakra. Ah! What?! In desperation Lahlil forced a large amount of chakra through all at once in hopes of pushing through. Her reward was an armor of gold that covered her skin, and although Lahlil braced herself as much as she could for the blast she was still pushed back into Rinka's shield. Her body at least unharmed.
Realizing how much trouble she might have gotten herself with her little stunt, her face wide eyed and panicked she immediately dropped her defense to try explain or somehow lessen the impact of the consequences but Kenshin wasn't already on the attack again giving her no rest inbetween. Trying to get back up and twist so that Lahlil could hundle Rinka protectively underneath her. "Wait please!! I can get her to listen!" Lahlil cried out desperately hoping to get Kenshin to give her a chance.
Rinka braced her stance and gritted her teeth as the now-golden Lahlil slid backwards into her shield. Twice now she had taken a blow that could have been prevented, and twice now that Rinka felt she was failing to protect her partner. This, compounded with the fact that the man before them was too blinded by zealotry to see the fact that Rinka and Lahlil weren't actually attacking him almost sent her over the edge. Still, it seemed Lahlil was still willing to reason with him even after all he had done to them, and Rinka promised to follow her lead... so follow she would, even if begrudgingly. Maintaining her defensive stance, Rinka would follow up on Lahlil's outburst with a proclamation of her own. "Stop! Not Fight you!" One more time. She'd give it one last shot to spell out the clear fact that the two actually had not transgressed agains the village, the kages, or even Kenshin. "Dont hurt..."

__ He watched Lahlil throw herself in front of the mountain crusher after armoring herself with a strange golden dust substance. She successfully blocked the impact of that technique and Kenshin then listened when Rinka agreed to surrender. He continued his series of strikes but aimed them at the large shield of chakra. His overwhelmingly powerful attack would puncture and lower the shield without harming the mechanism. He discontinued the attack beyond lowering the shield. The zealot accepted their terms of surrender by maneuvering in an attempt to wrap them together using Nuibari's wire. "You're both going to the CORE Compound for interrogation. Move. Now." The law enforcer ordered and would escort both of the diplomats there if they complied. He had no intention of harming either of them if they complied with him. As the head operative of security in the village, he intended to fulfill his duties. Mercy always compromised justice in his view but there was no use in continuing to attack if they were going to fully cooperate with him. The watchman remained ever vigilant of them in case this turned out to be a trap as well. If that happened then Kenshin would not stay his blade. Kenshin had numerous questions to ask them and also needed a safe place to secure them until the security matter is resolved at the Floodgate.
