Oh! New friend!
... New... sad... friend? The little Solid Pink Green ambled over to Huarwar, standing delicately up on her hind legs to balance ever so gently against him. Her claws did not break skin, nor did they tear.
Sad? came the soft, confused voice, as the baby investigated this new emotion. What was this?

Iathe - High ReachesIathe grunted at Marty's blunt, but apt evaluation of how the last touching had gone. Considering she'd been swept up in the rage of the baby's anger.... well, she had no rebuttal. She did note the young woman's suddenly cooled tone, but really, it didn't concern her what went between the two. So long as they weren't trying to shove one another in front of raging hatchlings, anyway. As Roana responded in turn, Iathe gave a start as an egg shattered with such force that shell bits sprayed every which way. A green. A lithe, happy little green that began to soon race this way and that, nuzzling candidates without a care in the world. Better than outright bloodshed or despair, at any rate. "True," She murmured to the redhead. Definitely better than the nasty bronze from last round. Another egg cracked, but judging from the snarled sounds of displeasure and red, whirling eyes, this green was less happy. Angry? Or just irritated to have found herself shaking off bits of shell? Iathe didn't know either way, but she kept her guard up. "Spirited." She nodded. A good sign. ---- Alya - Western"Our luck kept us from being mauled." Alya muttered a little sourly, giving a visible shudder at the memory... but she soon perked up at the question. "Well, I--" She jumped nearly a foot in the air as an egg suddenly burst! But to see the green hatchling happily racing about soon had her laughing with delight. "She is! She gushed, grinning widely at Esfir. "Maybe she'll be yours! Or yours, Ticene!" They were both happy, friendly people! She rose up on her tiptoes eagerly as the baby nuzzled at a few candidates... but no Impression! "What a darling, saying hello to everyone!" The appearance of the apparently more cranky baby was enough to get her shying back some, and as Rio casually slid forward as though to protect them, Alya reached out to grip the back of his robe for comfort. "How can she be grumpy?" She whined. "It's so lovely out here!' She shot Ticene a look, considering that possibility.... annnnnd nope. "No way! It's so beautiful! But maybe she'll settle down..." -- Lauthisen - WesternLauthisen had given an equal, reactionary twitch at the violence of that particular hatching. He gave another grunt, agreeing with the curse. "No. Not unless they're feisty or..." He trailed off as the green began to scamper here and there, apparently delighted to be free. "...Eager." It seemed it was really starting now, for another egg soon hatched... albeit, with less enthusiasm for the first. Its occupant seemed less pleased as well, and Lauthisen nodded towards the dark green hatchling in warning. She might have just been cranky... or she might be inclined to take a swipe at anyone who didn't get out of her way. The first green seemed to investigating one boy in particular, now. Perhaps he was meant for her?

Rylyrr
"But I?" He prompted and froze as the clutch he hadn't really been paying attention too, it had been so long since he got to catch up with Akaris started to come to life. Ooh. He shifted, gently drawing Akaris under a protective loop of his arm and watched. This one seemed happy, not that it couldn't cause some issues... excited dragons could run someone over but wasn't actively looking to bite someone. Her sister on the other hand looked to be a bit displeased. Hopefully it was just her slightly ungainly exit that had upset her and she would calm down. "It is okay, though I think we need to start paying attention to the dragons."

Huarwar(Wester) Quickly moving his head forward again, Huarwar stared at the bounding happy green that was coming towards him. He tensed, even as her stride closed and then, she was gently standing up and balancing against him. His breath caught in his chest as he felt her claws against him, though they did not tear his robe, she was being gentle. He couldn't shake the memory of the other green tearing into his brother... And then she had reached out to him. He felt the soft caress of her words, the confusion and instantly he wanted to protect her from the sadness he felt even though he could feel her investigating the feeling within his mind. He did make sure to give Aelyx a reassuring look, making sure she knew he was okay before he looked back to the green, wondering what he was supposed to do. She wasn't impressing to him, if anything her curiosity about his sadness had caught her attention as she moved around to meet new people. It's...a feeling you can get. When something bad has happened to you before. He did his best to explain it to her, and gently tried to close his mind off in case she wanted to go deeper, an unbonded hatchling did not need to feel the full brunt of the sadness he felt. You should go and find yours little one. I will be alright, yours is waiting for you out there.

MartiraeOh boy, excuses and explanations she'd never asked for. Martirae's expression remained neutral was Roana explained herself, if only for the sake of some semblance of politeness. "Mmmmm," she acknowledged, though it was perhaps not as soothing as it could have been. But then the first of the eggs hatched, drawing her dark gaze away towards the sudden movement and the friendly little green that had hatched from it. Already off and making friends, it seemed. She'd looked away from it just as quickly when the second egg followed with a second green - who looked much less happy. "Mmmm, well, we'll see how she decides about meeting a bunch of people that didn't touch her egg," she said, but secretly her attention drifted to a certain idiotic man who was talking to the baby - and probably hoping he'd get dragged around a bit. He needed his brain rattled back into place.

P'rell - HR"There. And Elsewhere." P'rell grinned. "Venaith was rather fond of playing gold." The excitement from the crowd was ramping up and while P'rell didn't entirely want to leave the safety of the shade he supposed he shouldn't keep his new acquaintance from possibly witnessing his brother Impress. He wasn't a large rider and used his size to thread a path for them both deeper into the crowd to get a clear enough view. "This good?" ZarikeHe may not have gotten any particular attention from the little green like a few others had but that didn't stop him from grinning as she zipped right by him. Another green had shed her egg and Zarike looked away from the chipper one just in time to see her shaking the goo off with a small roar of displeasure. Would she be trouble? It was surprisingly different not having touched the eggs! He found himself at a loss not having that taste of personality prior to hatching. For all he knew she could just be upset at being dirty and would quiet soon as she got clean. Or not. Without knowing what she was like... he couldn't possibly guess and the fact that he found himself apprehensive was it's own surprise to the older candidate. He looked away again to see the first green rise up and gently brace herself against another young man...wait? Was he the one who last time... Zarike thought he might have been but now it looked like maybe this time was going to be drastically different. For that kid's sake... Zarike hoped so.

AkarisThe young woman huddled close to her reassuringly large friend and eyed both the greens and all the unhatched eggs with no small amount of suspicion. The first green's abrupt entrance had nearly had her jumping out of her skin, although now that she was out, she seemed nice enough. The red-eyed one, though...no thank you. Any hatchling that was not lovely and sweet and gentle had better stay very far away! Akaris stared at the more irritable-seeming green out of the corner of her eye, face pressed against Rylyrr's chest. (Noting that he did not, at the moment anyway, smell bad. Quite the opposite.) "That one's...I don't think I like that one." A truly shocking revelation, to be sure. "I hope she finds Hers fast."

The Pink Striped Green gave one last loud bellow, before pushing herself quite forcefully through the clutch. She gave a swipe at the madly shaking Indigot & Yellow Egg, and smacked her tail with complete disregard at the Blue & White Patterned Egg. Out of her way, losers!!
Though her eyes turned more blue, there were still flecks of red within them as she finally turned to face the Candidates. What was this? Who were these people!? Giving an irritated RAWRK the green dove forward, and literally pushed her way through the crowds. Any who didn't get out of the way fast enough would find a wing, or tail, smacking them to the side. This green isn't afraid to push, thank you, or simply barrel right over.
Honestly... This was such a mess! What was that over there? Immediately, the green shoved her way over to where Akaris & Rylyrr were stationed, giving first the boy, then the girl, a scrutinizing look. Rawrk?
- - -
The Green Zig-Zag Egg would give a sharp crack, and little fingers would reach out of the shell. Any close by might notice the glitter of sunlight reflected off metallic skin. A gasp of those nearby went out. That was gold! And so was the little tip of snoot that seemed to be trying to break through the rest of the thick shell. FREEDOM!! SO CLOSE!

Flattered as she was by Alya's words, Esfir rather thought the High Reaches girl a far better match for the little green than herself. Though, watching as the little one headed for a boy that Esfir remembered from the last Hatching, she wondered if the green might not surprise them all.
Then, glancing towards the red-eyed green Esfir felt the tiny qualm. She wasn't sure why the baby was upset, but she hoped it was because she'd hatched out all goopy and not because she was about to fly into a rage.
"It'll be fine, I'm sure," she murmured more to herself than to anyone else. Then, bright smile returning, she reached out to give Alya's hand a friendly squeeze. Knowing she wasn't entirely alone was helping to keep memories and fear at bay.

Juhvek
The Pink Striped Green was full of haughty and irritated energy as she ran through the candidate ranks - and Juhvek, grossly unprepared despite his sister's best attempts, was thrown to the ground, left to catch his breath as she continued on her path.
But then a gasp shuddered through the crowd, making Juhvek look up at the snout that had just pushed itself out of another egg - Golden? Gold. A queen here on this beach.
Well, one of the Weyrs would find that alone worth their time for coming out. He'd like to be able to breathe first before he worried about that - not like he could ride that one, right?

Rylyrr"I'm sure she will," Rylyrr started calmly, wincing slightly as the nice polite green went up to the boy that lost his brother?twin? Last hatching and paused, eyes following the other green. Her eyes were calming to a much more relaxed blue, with still bits of red but more pushy then rage filled. Rylyrr kept his thoughts as calm as he could, perhaps a bit protective of Akaris who was taking shelter in his chest, and nodded calmly to the green. "Akaris... she actually right next to us... her eyes are mostly blue." He added, wanting to keep her calm, not frighten her. Aly'on"I'm sure Ihiaansith would play gold if he thought he could get away with it,"Aly'on mused following along. "This is good, thank you and ooh... that is him." He added, motioning to a rather tall, built, black skin young man with a young women against his side. "And I think that is his friend from Western.... Akaris, that was it."

Iathe - High ReachesWell, it seemed like someone didn't mind having to use brute force to bully her way around! Eggs were smacked here and there as the green managed to free herself from the clutch, and Iathe felt a pulse of relief when those eyes began to turn blue instead. Of course, then she was on the move again, heading towards a pair in particular... where she paused and seemed to evaluate them more closely. Well, better that they knew what they wanted, rather than hanging around. And then Iathe saw the gold. She caught her breath without thinking, her body beginning to stiffen before she forced herself to relax. No. Stupid, foolish dreams did nothing. If it was meant to happen, it would. And she would not delude herself into thinking that this might be her moment, only to be crushed with disappointment. Alya - Western"Oh, look, look!" Had the little greens found their people? They certainly seemed to be investigating! Alya gleefully took Esfir's hand, beaming at her--and then gasped when she saw a glitter of gold from one of the larger eggs. "Oh, look!" She squeaked, then began to bounce in place. "See? See? I told you we were lucky! Some girl is about to have her dreams come true!" She tugged furiously on the back of Rio's robes with her other hand, practically wiggling with her glee. Yes, excellent. Alya would capitalize upon all of this. Bask in her lucky glory.

AkarisNo. No no no no no. There might, just might, have been a little whimper that made its way out of Akaris as she simultaneously tried to get even closer to Rylyrr while also moving to scoot a bit more behind him, peeping out at the green from the pink-striped egg with fear and distrust. At some point in all this, her hat had fallen off and into the sand, but there was no way she was going to try to pick it up right this moment. Not until that baby went away. Far away, please. "I...don't think...yours is over here," she squeaked out, both hesitant to acknowledge the green and even more worried about not and maybe offending it. But please just move along, baby green. Nothing to see here.

Blue, blue eyes stared into Huarwar's, and the little Solid Pink Green gave a soft warble. Sad. Not alone! See? She wound around Huarwar, and circled Aelyx, just to give emphasis. Sorry. There was a note of true sorrow and remorse in the baby's voice as she closed her investigation. Suddenly, she pushed her little head beneath Huarwar's hand, and sent him a strong burst of encouragement and brightness. He was good!
And then she darted away to meet more new friends. So many!

Beligian - High Reaches candidate
Beli was confused at what was happening, but that tended to happen when eggs hatched. He wasn't sure how many eggs were left, or how many had hatched. All he knew is that he felt like an idiot with his too big pants he was holding up, and still in his pajama shirt. His messy red hair was even messier, since he'd rushed out without brushing it.
It seemed like a lot of the dragonets were bonding. He still had hopes!
